- Club Leader is considered an intermediate role, whilst we encourage players of all sorts to apply, please note that the tasks of a club leader can be intensive at times when it comes to meeting event's and club member management.

[!] The room was well-lit, or even too lit, at least, that's how it felt as the person taking his interview was silhouetted against the shimmer of the lighting back drop's rays via the equipment behind them, preserving them as a higher being, higher authority, they dominated the room. - Their entire figure lit up like a lead on a stage.
"Alright, so what I need from you is. . ." A hum as the interviewer present scanned over the application submission by the raven-like boy in front of them, confirming the information provided like it was some sort of ID-check.
"What is your name, age, and grade? Then we will continue with the rest of the interview."
The interviewer's voice seemingly quiet, yet the demand of their request boomed through the confines of the space. Their need was prevalent and they wanted it.
Bringing one leg over the other, essentially folding in his seated position, with his hands placing themselves in his lap, the raven of a boy got himself comfortable - sitting himself straight up against the back of the chair in an effort to shake off his nerves from shocking through his body. "Toru, Toru Munakata is my name."
His hands clasping together, not strained enough to present his angst, but instead, Toru's two thumbs ran circles around each other, twiddling. "I am twenty years of age, and I am studying a Bachelor of Film Study in the College here."
At once, Munakata's thumbs ceased their movement, instead sealing themselves upon each other by the tips. Hands now fully connected rather than rampant via the fidget.
The interviewer leaned over the desk, their head tilting slightly downward and to the side as their hands too, came up into a clasp over the desk. Their face was more visible, the act was similar to that of a character being revealed through their features being unfurled via the closing in of the proximity between them. A feminine outline with dark eyeliner sharpening the woman's ****ysing gaze toward Toru through her brows. "Great! Well, now that we've got that one over with." A pause, as the lady sat back in her seat allowing herself to lean back comfortably and keep a watchful eye over the raven."Tell me about yourself; What is your motivation to lead this club within the school?"
Her gaze dared not falter, hardly a blink as she continued to survey the boy and his mannerisms.
"Well, because I study film and I thoroughly enjoy the subject, I want to spread my passion through the nature of the school, an upstart if you'd like to call it that way." Toru blurted without a second thought. But he knew that wasn't enough. Leaning forward in his chair, akin to the interviewer did once before him. His arms presenting themselves upon the desk as he pulled himself closer. You could tell he was very passionate and dead-set about this subject.
The raven of a boy could see it, the lighting of the room creating a stark atmosphere, where the camera lights shun deliberately upon the two people and the desk separating them at a high angle. Creating a sort of formal intensity, tension to the scene which unfolded as Toru took an elongated and dramatic breath in, keeping the silence between the two definite - an ounce of suspense filling the air, viscous.
"Well, in a more detailed explanation. ."
Toru continued, the silence being cut off as he ironed himself out, removing any nervous wrinkle from his demeanour.
"My motivation, to lead a club such as this, is to bring forth another extracurricular club which involves the process of film-making, advertisement, shoots, and publicity." Informing his surface level desire before fleshing it out.
"Imagine this; as a club, we could, as I mentioned; advertise and create documentaries upon other clubs to bring about interest, while also creating short films for just overall entertainment and passion. While another benefit being we could film school events to keep for the records in different styles of film and hold onto for years to come." Explaining the benefits of it's comeuppance, with his arms flaring out like he was branching possible opportunities in a list and how things would really work in an almost script-like or synopsis fashion. The overarching idea of the product he wished to produce for the widespread audience.
Passion burning within Munakata's eyes, as he first: cleared his throat, fist balled up in front of his lips to catch it. Then, brought his hands back to the table, tracing over it's wooden texture as if drawing directions of such a scene into the storyboarded fabrics of his mind.
"Firstly, just at a base level, it is a club dedicated to study that of films and cinematography, lets get that straight."
Outlining his general consensus.
"On a more serious and in-depth note, I want to bring a more interactive element to this school, even this city in general." Toru started.
"When do you see people hanging around the shopping district regularly? Around the business district, zen garden, shrine." He continued.
"My purpose not only is to provide my members the recognition they desire for their upstart in content creation or film making in general, but also to be able to create a new way to discover things around our town and help people discover new places to be. Instead of just their homes and the plaza." Leaning back in his chair, his arms sprawling outward like some Grecian theatre actor; big and dramatic, creating an eccentric and lighter air about him, casual and welcoming in a sense.
"Hell, even tryouts, we could have it advertised to allow people to meet the captains and the sport in general, thus more importantly allowing the audience to understand the sport they may find interest in or gain a new interest in!" Leaning forward once more in his chair, his voice dimming, intimate, as a hushed excitement threaded through his voice - as if composing himself.
"It would bring clarity or an exciting air about past or current events to create a more lively and interactive city as a whole."
While the director, or, interviewer in this case sat in their chair. What seemed to be, at a face value: zoning out, disassociation. Was more akin to that of putting the multiple ****ogies into frame - Imagining such scenes as if they were to play out in front of her right this second. Bringing her gaze back up to meet with the boy's own ambitious flame quelling within his gaze. An inquisitive hum chirped from her lips.
"So then, why should I choose you over the other candidates that have applied for a club of their own, for this position?"
Her question sparking a melody of sheer competition thrived through the ambition of Toru's competition; the other applicants.
Toru did not hesitate for a second, leaning himself into the light, the frame of the scene, a fire starting to build in his gaze, burning through pure ambition.
"I will be frank with you, I have all of these ideas that I MUST flesh out. And with the help of the members I got currently, as well as with the members I accept, I want to be able to build this community from the ground up. I have the enthusiasm, I have the commitment, with my leadership, my club could change the atmosphere. The town! It could really make an impact on this town. And I will do my absolute best to make this club bigger than it sounds."
The sheer thought of film making and being able to flesh out his overall ideas made Toru's eyes sparkle with pure excitement, his enthusiasm on the subject clear and concise on what his main objective was, what he wanted to do - as if it was some business transaction ready to be settled.
"Look, look." A small yet, dramatic pause came over him, finding the words. "Film making, is like listening to a professional orchestra."
Oh here we go, one of his tangents, the passion really building up in his demeanour.
"Instead of listening to the entire music as a whole, all of the instruments in sync. . You could break it down, ****yse it into finer parts, their components."
Bringing his hands in front of him like their gestures would really be able to convey what it was he was saying.
"Lets take the Piano, it's soft yet dominant depending on who's hands are playing and the music composed. Now, string that with a Violin, the overall sound and layer creates a new dynamic, another topping to your burger."
Bringing his hands back to the centre, placing an invisible object to the side, as if ticking a box of one sector, one piece of his full ****ogy
"Now, lets apply this same logic to film. With lighting, one creates the atmosphere which CAN create the feeling, impact. BUT with the addon of sound, we can create a real emotional connection to the scene, the overall score uplifting it to whatever feeling you wish to convey."
Placing another invisible object to another direction, another sector completed. Readjusting his seating position to scoot slightly closer in his seat and lean into the desk even more.
"Here, let me set the scene."
His gaze dominating over the table, passion simmering in his eyes, ready to outlet all of his ideas and ****ogies onto the table - ready to place all of his cards at once.
"If you have happy music over a horror film, you wouldn't take it seriously, not unless the music itself became haunting. Like in Insidious 1, 'Tip toe by the window' plays, an old childhood melody that creates this intense haunting atmosphere through just a slight shift in atmospheric lighting and suspense."
A pause, letting the first shred of ****ysis take effect, settle in their mind.
"It's shift in tone, the echoing through the halls of the house and random occurrence within the narrative ESPECIALLY during an already intense and suspenseful scene haunts and takes over the scene itself - Making it memorable. Now that, is a really good use of Diegetic sound, sound found inside the world. Even though technically it is a song, a soundtrack, it is found within the world, something the characters can hear and react to, and thus creating the intention of the scene. To haunt."
Toru really made sure to accentuate his words, using it do add clarity upon this ****ysis he set up. Then, he cleared his throat, snapping himself out of that ambitious trance and straightening himself back up in his seat - one hand coming over the other in his lap as he leaned back into his chair.
"I have the passion, and I have the desire for greater heights. Will you give me this opportunity to build this from the ground up and truly make something great?"
An air of solemn honesty taking effect within his tone, his expression as Toru stared head-forth toward the interviewer, determination blazing in his gaze.

Club Section

What is the official title of your club?
Absolute Cinema Club (Cinema Club for short)
Provide a small summary of your club (75 words)
It is a club dedicated to film making / film reviews / media reviews / social media, the main synopsis is to spread information on events, opportunities, and create a way to both advertise and enable people to gain public recognition. Recreating important lore events into film so that we can cater to people who don't like to read a super long forum can instead watch a video. Makes the server diverse and interactive and gives another alternative. Also, just a new wave of entertainment in the business of SRP's social media aspect (This could include Onrain and big public figures too).
Please gather five student members for your club and list their character names and usernames
(I know you said 5, but I gathered 8 just for overall comfort in numbers if that's okay. If not, I will just run some through an application process if this gets given the go ahead, they're all really keen.)
For my club, we will have divisions based on skills and responsibilities, that way it's not just everyone doing everything and it is not a ranking system.
Rather, we split the work up and teach/help each other to grow through our specialties.
They are as follows:
Director/Assistant Director
-The leads of the club, the overarching head of the studio.
[II] Cameramen
-Typically well... The person with the camera and capable of executing really nice shots.
[III] Equipment Managers
-The one's manufacturing equipment and creating the atmosphere for a scene with lighting, props, setting up the 'mis en scene'
[IV] Producers
-The people who advertise and build a following of the club's endeavours, reaching larger audiences.
[V] Editors
-People specialising in editing footage to really make the effects, sound etc of the film come together.
[VI] Script-writers/Screen-writers
-The plan-makers, these guys either specialise in writing up scripts or illustrating storyboards to ensure a smooth and planned filming process, so as to not "Wing it".
[VII] Trial members
-New people that have gone through our application process and are currently being tested to become full fledged members. This is where we figure out their specialties and can sort them into their required division.

[VIII] The Audience
-Now, not particularly an actual division in the club, rather, we like to use suggestions or ideas from the audience and bring them to life. This can also be general public that like to hang around our clubroom and will breed interaction through our club. Whether it's roleplay, or just suggestions/ideas, we will be there.

You may ask any teacher or professor that is not already a supervisor, if you can not find one, one will be provided to you upon acceptance.
- I do not have a teacher/professor, nor a council member and I am happy to be provided any one available.
Will there be any requirements of future members to join your club?
Inclusivity
I want my members to be able to include each and every player, unless there is a truly valid reason to not include someone, I would much prefer full inclusivity than none at all.
- Grade 10+, yet willing to work with newer players to ensure their stay in SRP is a fun experience.
- No exclusion of others, this club is dedicated to helping uplift others and help others gain a foothold into something new. Everyone has their main job and everyone should be inclusive to allow people to learn new things.
- Ask people for permission first and foremost, the worst thing we can do is record / create content without someone's permission
Willingness to participate
Lets get this straight, I'd like my members to participate in activities and build their algorithm et cetera as all other clubs do. However, I will not be strict on such a thing, as people have their own lives and we can find ways around little inconveniences to make the activity truly blossom.
Therefore:
- Willingness and commitment to projects/learning to create your own product would be really cool.
- Members are expected to attend at the least ONE meeting OR log ONE activity per month to ensure the proper flow of the club and activity holds up. I would prefer more, but again, I know people have lives outside of SRP and don't wish to overwhelm them.
- Willing to participate and/or host club activities and meetings. My roster is very diverse when it comes to time-zones, and accommodating that with multiple time-zone oriented meetings makes it so much easier to be able to cater to people's needs without leaving people feeling left out or pressured to wake up at 5am for every single meeting.
- Communication is key, even though VC is not mandatory, the expectation is even just a small reaction, question or even a comment to show understanding and/or willingness to participate. Which is not mandatory every single time, again, at the least one per month. But it is preferred. Makes my job so much easier so I know what's going right and what's not.
Overall behaviour
Overall, my members should be the role-models of the club, each and every one of them being able to assist in areas upon request as well as help people to learn what it is they specialise in.
So:
- Do not be pretentious, everyone has their own art style, and putting people down for their work because 'mine is better' is the fuel for toxicity - which we do not want.
- Good rep, again, we don't want toxicity and we want to be able to help people, not push people away from the fun side of the server. We want to be engaging, so lets have a good rep, kay?
- Not a main requirement, but much preferred, detail-rp. Interviews are a great way to get character out of someone, google forms are an easier alternative, giving them time to edit and what not, but an interview just makes the experience more fun. We're going to be working together, we should know how we are as individuals, even on the fly!
- Of course, there is leeway in some of these qualities, as I don't expect every character to be absolutely perfect. I just don't want the extremities to overwhelm other people and club members. The worst thing we can have is a constant burn out, lets try to avoid the extremities while we can.
Provide one school-wide/map-wide event that your club may host
.Film Festival
With this event it can be tied to a specific theme and we get our club members or aspiring members to present a film in whatever stylistic way they want on that theme to a wider audience based on top approved selections from the club members as a ranking in a way.
OR
.Live-service TV show
With an actual live audience like who wants to be a millionaire for funsies where we create an actor-audience relationship, involving the audience with the show. Bringing them up to the stage and staging a literal live service TV show with questionaires, games and just interviews in general.
Provide one flash event that your club may host
.Interview booth based on films/favourite films and use that to create a ranking or use that to help make the theme for the next major event planned by our club.
It's pretty self explanatory. We as the club members conduct a survey/interview to a large number of students and majority wins. Those that are part of the majority may receive little fun prizes like one of the peach treats, or just something simple to keep the hype going.
OR
.Create a rp-based live recording experience to showcase what we do. Even advertise the opportunity to members of the public to help with background characters within the scenes needed as well as just allow them to get a grasp of our work, rather than make assumptions based on written information. This would allow advertising the club and increasing interest rates far easier and just more interactive in the roleplay scheme.
Provide one club activity that your club might host
.Host a club meeting, the general public are permitted to join, we present an ****ysis and conventions of a specific film genre or specific film scene in mind. Let's say we ****yse a scene from Dead Poet's Society - Breaking down the key components which build up the scene and why each little element adds it's own level of depth and meaning and thus creating clarity on how ****ysis works. Everyone can learn something new from this. It is Educational.
OR
.Create a workshop based on film ****ysis on a specific genre, through this we'd be able to apply what it is we ****ysed and then put it to work physically. Let's take the film-****ysis acronym CAMELS for example:

C- Camera, finding what shots work and not work, what different shots do with movement, high angles, low angles, zooms et cetera.
A- Acting, Being able to simply play out a scene in order.
M- Mis en Scene, literally translates to 'Everything in the scene', this is like props, clothing, colours, etc.
E- Editing, Pretty much just editing, whether that be through the script, changing things up, or editing footage.
L- Lighting, experimenting with different lighting qualities and how that affects the atmosphere and scene as a whole.
S- Sound, How does sound elevate a scene to convey it's purpose. Non-Diegetic sound and Diegetic sound, how do they differentiate and how can we use them to again, elevate the scene.
OR
. Literally just create a short film, documentary or advertisement for another club, faction, sports team etc.
Help the community out and increase interest rates for everyone, helping doesn't hurt right?
Director's note
'Thank you for taking my application into consideration, I love the idea of a club revolved around creating a new way for entertainment and expanding the world of SRP on a cultural level as well as being able to document significant events and expand the support of the server through this ambition of mine.
And though I don't have any club uniform to show for just yet, I will be having them made as soon as the club is finalised and established.
