What's the title of your suggestion?: Add Texture Emission to Lightsabers

What's your suggestion?:
Lightsabers have always been quite the popular item, especially among new players. Many of us (including myself) have probably taken part in some epic lightsaber duels in the past. However, one key feature has always been missing: the glow. Fact is, lightsabers don’t actually emit any light in-game, which takes away from their visual appeal.

To fix this, I suggest making the blade part of the lightsaber emissive so it glows in the dark (keep in mind they won't actually emit any actual dynamic light that affects the surrounding blocks). There are two ways to implement this depending on the server’s recommended Minecraft version:

For 1.21.2+:
It’s quite easy; Just right-click the element(s) of the model that should glow, then click the Light Emission button to enable the model's emissiveness. It's pretty straight-forward and only takes a few clicks to implement.

For older versions:
There’s a tutorial available that explains how to manually set up emissive textures. However, I’d recommend holding off until the server updates to a newer version so the Media Lead can avoid unnecessary work and use the simpler method mentioned first.

Moreover, this trick could also be used in other models too; be it lanterns, street lights, or any other light-emiting item/furniture. For the sake of clarity, I've used the default Blockbench template textures and applied emissiveness to them to showcase how it'd look like. Though, of course, this could be applied to any model on SRP! ^^

The picture on the left shows the model with no emissiveness, whereas the one on the right does show emissiveness and therefore glows in the dark.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
This simple change could bring a lot to roleplay immersion, specially with shaders that integrate texture emissiveness into their light dynamics. Moreover, granted that the server is using 1.21.2 or above, it should be quite easy to make this change, as all this button does is modify a single value in the model's json, thus not affecting compatibility or causing unnecessary headaches.

I do not think this would be needed for SRP. Seeing how we recommend 1.21.1 due to problems with higher versions connections to the server would make this suggestion obsolete. Plus, you don't play SRP anymore so I don't see why you care. Additionally, if you have model suggestions, start a thread here on the forums with 6Pancake to suggest model remakes

It’s almost like clockwork, it’s sort of amusing

Though they are correct in one regard

SRP uses lower versions than this, so this method likely wouldn’t work.

Although making emissive textures in a resource pack is as simple as added “_e” to the end of a texture for versions lower than this.

Regarding the 1.21.2 concerns, I understand it may not be ideal to implement this idea now. However, as the server updates to newer versions, I could see this being implemented in the future, given how simple this implementation would be. Itd just he a matter of waiting for the recommended version to update for this suggestion to be more viable ^^

Edit: I tested this feature in lower versions to double-check if the model glitches when using the 1.21.2+ emission feature. It doesn't; It just doesn't glow for those who aren't using that version. This means that this idea could be implemented now, and eventually, whenever the server updates to 1.21.2+, these models will be automatically updated to emit light without having to change anything (while also allowing players on newer versions to experience these changes now!)

Thank you for your suggestion!
- This isn't necessary for items, however we may do so with other textures in future.
