I would absolutely HATE if I went inactive or left SRP for a period of time for whatever reason it may be to see someone take my characters name that I could have very well spent years putting work and my love into. It's also heavily suggested that you be creative to try and find your own unique names for your characters, even if the one you originally wanted is taken as Oli stated.

i see. Nicknames is a way right? Like: Name 'Nickname' Lastname

I think your idea has some merit, but given what others have said, I think the name should be considered for removal "at discretion" at least after its owner has been offline for a year.

I do see many good reasons why there should be a way to address the RPname situation. I was thinking something along the lines of how custom items work. However, after reading many of the replies, I don't think it's really fair to the other side.

I stand with what @Infi said. I agree with that.
