Aiya, a natural-born and raised Chinese girl, wasn’t the natural luck kind of girl everyone wished to be. After her birth her parents almost immediately fell ill, the sickness plaguing the family for years to come until it finally struck gold when she was about the age of Five. Her memories faint but warming when she thinks back to them. She’ll never forget her mother's laugh or her father's smile. Once her mother passed it didn’t take long for her father to and the families attached not having a big enough helping hand lead to dire consequences. Aiya was put up for adoption and while she thought she finally got lucky with a warm, small, Spanish family it would turn out not quite the story. They took her back home, sailing the seas back to Spain with their bubbly, happy, Chinese girl.
Spain wouldn’t have the happy story she wished for though, the parents soon dipping into financial issues leading to backlashes on Aiya, “This is her fault!” The father would yell, “If we hadn’t brought her home, none of this would happen!” His words weren’t for the faint of heart. “I don’t know what you tell you; you’re the one who wanted her!” Her new mother would argue. “Well not anymore.” The words rang deep in Aiya, “Not anymore.” She’d tell herself. She continued to tell herself that for the following two years. “Not anymore!” The child protective services had hollered at the parents.
Once Aiya became of age to go to school, the services stepped in to see where Aiya had been fairing. To their disgust, it wasn’t well and soon packed Aiya’s bags and shipped her back home. The Chinese adoption home welcomed her with stiff arms, the place as packed as it was when she left. She lived out of her packed bags on a dirty, dusty floor for the next three years. At the age of 10, the Saiky family found her, a young girl sat in the corner, afraid of her own shadow. The family found her to be quite gifted; a small girl at her age already knowing two languages fluently really sparked their interest. Though they seemed a bit tough on her during the interview, asking many questions that poor young Aiya hadn’t known quite well yet at her age, she still passed and soon was packing her bags yet again.
Stepping off ship in Japan, Aiya holding the hand of her new father, the family made strides for home. She was finally happy, the new family raising her to be quite the proper woman she is today. It didn’t take long for her to adjust to the new ways of Japan, after all, anything was better than Spain. She fared well in her studies, making almost top of her class but her parents loved her anyway. Easily placed in the top 10 of her class and soon moved on to college without any hiccups. Aiya always thanks the Saiky family when she talks about her accomplishments, without them she’d still be the shy girl on the dirty dusty orphanage floor.
After finishing her degrees in college, Aiya took up a job for a counselor role, taking it on at Karakura high school. Aiya wanting to help children who might have been going through the troubles that she herself had grown up with. She helped students with anxiety, college plans, bullying issues, and so on. After many years, she began to take up a side degree of her own, studying to become more than a counselor.
After being a counselor for 8 years, Aiya decided to take up a job interview for the position of a college vice-dean, having completed her qualifications for the job on her extra degree. Aiya felt her interview went quite well, leaving the room with a sense of relief that she’d done her best, having answered the questions to her greatest ability.
After a week, Aiya found out she’d received the job of Vice-dean, Overwhelmed with excitement Aiya knew she could now help within the college department, not only the students, but now the professors as well. Aiya has happily worked along-side the Dean for four years, running the college department for Karakura highschool.
A few years after accepting her position Aiya had received a phone call granting her bad news one night while she was finishing up paperwork. Her husband had suffered a bad injury at work and after hours of trying to save him the staff had deemed him passed. The funeral was held quickly, the weather not allowing them any time to wait. With a heavy heart her family said goodbye one last time and moved on to an emptier future. Aiya now suffers from the fear of being alone, seeking out company in the darkest of hours.
