Describe your activity on the server:
I’ve been an active player of SRP since around 2020, joining right before covid and have been remaining active since. Over the past year, I’ve taken on a wide range of roles, constantly looking for more ways to contribute and stay engaged. My journey started with sports, where I’ve spent over a year moving between different teams, now proudly residing on Spartan Cheer. Beyond teams, I’ve been involved in EMS for the past few months, dedicating myself to the role and consistently meeting or exceeding the maximum quota, except for the most recent month, where illness and more prevented me from doing so. Despite that, I’ve remained committed to the position and have enjoyed the challenge that comes with it. Previously, I’ve been on the council as well, in which I stepped down because it wasn’t right for me. I briefly took on the role of professor for the last month, but my ultimate goal has always been to become a shopkeeper, which is why I’m here! Currently, I have an extremely flexible schedule since I’m taking a gap year from school and am not working for mental health reasons. This allows me to remain consistently active, engaging with the community, and staying involved in various aspects of the server! I’d leave a chart but truthfully.. The only days I have any time where I'm not free are Saturday and Sunday when I have like an hour long cheer practice, other than that, my schedule is always free.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Yes, I completely understand if I end up being inactive, I will lose my spot as a shopkeeper.

What shop are you applying for?:
I’m applying for Sayonara.
Why do you want to become a Shopkeeper?:
I have quite a few reasons for wanting to be a shopkeeper. This is something I’ve wanted for a long time and the more time I’ve spent within the server, especially working closely in shops, the more that desire has turned into a genuine drive. From the very beginning, the shopkeeper faction has stood out to me. I’ve explored a lot of other factions, tried to find where I fit, but nothing ever matched how naturally I felt drawn to the shop faction. It’s not about the tag, how they function, or the responsibility, it’s about the atmosphere, the people, and the potential to reach everyone on SRP regardless of what they involve themselves in. If you think about it, shops appeal to everyone, high school, college, EMS, KPD, Shrine, Faculty, everyone. Working at different shops made me realize how deep my own pull towards the faction runs. I’ve spent time behind the counter, during quiet opens and painfully alive ones, I’ve gotten to see what brings activity to shops and what keeps them going. Through that, I started to care more than I expected to, not just about shop’s success but the space it holds within the community. I don’t want to be a shopkeeper just to run any shop. The second I saw Hatola’s leaving message, as upsetting as it was, I realized I definitely wanted the responsibility of bringing it back to life and giving it a new palette. Though, I’ll speak on that more later. Another big reason this role matters to me is because I want to be more involved in the community, not just in passing, but in a consistent and meaningful way. I want to create more moments, bring life to events, and try unique things, and foster an employee culture where the people working feel just as valued as those visiting. More than anything, I want to be trusted with this because I know I won’t take it for granted. I’ve waited, I’ve worked, I’ve watched. I’ve taken the time to understand what works and what doesn’t, what makes a shop successful and what makes it forgettable. I don’t see being a shopkeeper as a tag or a quick side project, I see it as a chance to finally step into a faction I’ve always felt pulled toward and prove that I’m ready to not only contribute, but to build to something lasting. This isn’t just about becoming a shopkeeper, it’s about finally stepping into the role I’ve been working toward for so long, with real passion, real intent, and heart behind it.
[!] Why this specific shop?
Sayonara Gift Shop is one of the most well-known and respected shops on SRP, with a strong legacy that has made it a staple in the community. It has really stood the test of time, offering a diverse range of items from instruments to jewelry to unique gifts that make it more than just a simple store. Over the years, Sayonara has built a reputation for not only its merchandise but also its atmosphere and events. When the previous owner decided to move on, it left behind a shop with a well-established identity, one that I want to ensure continues to thrive. My connection to Sayonara runs just a tiny bit deeper than just admiration, I’ve worked there before even if it wasn’t for too much time. I’ve seen how well-organized openings, a strong employee team, and community engagement can keep a shop thriving, and I want to take that knowledge and use it to maintain and explain Sayonara's legacy. While I deeply respect the shop’s history, I also see room for fresh ideas, whether through creative inventory choices, themed openings, community events, or unique promos that keep people excited and engaged. Shops on SRP thrive when they feel alive, when there’s an active presence behind them, and I am full prepared to dedicate my time and effort to making sure Sayonara remains an iconic part of Karakura. Taking over this shop wouldn’t just be a leadership opportunity for me, it would be a personal commitment to something I’ve been a part of before and genuinely think has the potential to keep thriving. Sayonara has left it’s mark on the community, and I want to ensure that mark doesn’t fade. Instead, I want to build on it, making sure the shop not only continues its legacy but becomes even more of a must-visit destination for players. With my experience, dedication, and passion, I know I can make it happen.
What do you plan to do with your shop, and what makes it unique?:
I’ve had a chance to see some of the other applicants for Sayonara, and while there are a lot of other exciting ideas out there, I wish to take a different route. Most that I’ve seen want to replace Sayonara and rebrand it, but I want to build on what it was. My vision is rooted in preserving Sayonara’s original charm and legacy, not erasing it. The name “Sayonara” holds weight, it’s known, it’s respected, and it already has history within the community. My goal is to honor that by breathing new life into it, making it active once more, immersive, and memorable. Where I differ is how I plan to approach Sayonara’s future. Think of it like giving Sayonara some coffee, lol! I want to make it more vibrant, whimsical and alive. I want to introduce a newer vibe to the store, one I haven’t previously seen: Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium-inspired twist on a gift shop. PLEASE tell me that someone gets the reference.. If you don’t know what it is, it’s from a movie. In short it’s basically a giant magical toy store, basically, and I LOVED it as a kid and I think Sayonara would blossom with a similar vibe.. But leaning more towards toys AND gifts. Imagine stepping into Sayonara and being greeted by a color, eclectic space filled with energy. Like wow! While we’d still carry familiar and fan-favorite items, we’d add in unique and rotating inventory, exclusive stuff and seasonal collections to keep customers coming back just to see what’s new. It’s not about making it a kids’ store, it’s about bringing that sense of wonder back into shopping that appeals to everyone. I want Sayonara to feel like a place where you don’t just walk in and buy something, I want it to remind people of those big fun, interactive stores.
One of the first things I’d implement is a bit of an inventory overhaul. I want to take stock of what’s still being bought and what isn’t, removing slow-moving items and replacing them with more creative, attention-grabbing products that match the new vibe while still being relevant to the audience. But of course, it’s not about what’s on the shelves, it’s about how people interact with the store. Another major change I plan to bring in is a more dynamic working style. Rather than having employees stuck behind the counters only, I want to have a team of employees moving around the floor, helping customers directly, showing off items, and creating more RP-driven moments. This would reduce long lines, improve service, and let employees have a more interactive experience, where they’re not all just standing at the counters in silence. I also wish to double down on events.
Sayonara shouldn’t just be open, it should be happening. Holiday-themed sales, interactive roleplay events, giveaways, and pop-up promos are all on the table. Whether it’s a spooky Halloween event with exclusive items or a Valentine’s Day drop of cute gifts, there would always be a reason to visit. These events would drive community engagement and build lasting memories that go beyond just buying and selling. Plus, Sayonara, at least in my mind, is already relatively known for their bigger holiday events and I definitely want that to continue. Most importantly, I want Sayonara to be active. One of the biggest downfalls a shop can face is inconsistency and inactivity. I plan to lead by example with a stronger presence, staying engaged with both employees and customers. I want Sayonara to be one of the most reliably open and exciting shops on the server, because that’s important! In short, I’m not trying to reinvent Sayonara, I’m trying to reignite it. I want to take what already made it great, sprinkle some caffeine, and transform it into a standout experience. A place that feels like Karakura’s very own wonder emporium, vibrant and surprising, and loved as it once was.
What will you sell in your shop?:
Sayonara has long been known for its diverse selection of gifts. Traditionally, the shop offered a mix of musical instruments, jewelry, and toys, catering to a wide range of customers. These items have shaped the identity of Sayonara over time and played a huge part in why the shop is remembered so fondly. But like any beloved business, the key to keeping it alive is in evolving without losing what made it special in the first place. That's exactly what I want to do. I want to rework and expand the shop’s inventory, not to erase its history but to enhance it. The plan isn’t just to add more stock, but to create a more dynamic, interactive, and fun selection of goods that reflects the direction I want Sayonara to grow into. One of my top priorities is to introduce a much broader variety of toy inspired and accessory inspired items to align with Sayonara’s new niche that I wish to develop. I’m talking about newer plushies, silly trinkets, and more items such as those. BUT, it won't just be random novelty items. Every addition will be intentional, curated to serve the whole aesthetic of SRP and Sayonara both.
I want to include interactive items that can enhance roleplay, like seasonal accessories, themed bundles.. Or maybe even doing mystery bags as an event, I know Henki-Do did something similar and it was super fun! At the same time, it’s important to make room for this new wave of inventory. That means thoughtfully phasing out older stock that hasn’t been selling or no longer fits with Sayonara’s new direction. Outdated or underused items will be cleared out in favor of rotating in newer items, or limited items to give customers more of a reason to keep coming back. Seasonality will play a huge role in this. I want Sayonara’s inventory to reflect the world around it. If possible, I’d love to rotate in themed items for major holidays, even possibly season themed items as well. These changes won’t just keep the shop relevant, they’ll create real excitement and anticipation. People will look forward to seeing what Sayonara has in stock this month. I also envision limited-edition mini collections or surprise themed releases, school-themed merch or hello kitty items, etc.. A bundle of items with a theme for a short time. This may be a bit harder to achieve but it’s definitely an idea I’d like to look more into. These drops could be teased ahead of time or kept as in-store surprises to drive some sort of roleplay buzz. The idea is to never let Sayonara go stale. There will always be something new to talk about, something fun to see.
And through all of this, Sayonara’s core identity will remain intact. It will still be that silly, beloved gift shop that Hatola had devoted years to. Just one with shelves full of a new energy. I’m confident that this evolution of inventory will help the shop thrive in the long term. By keeping what worked, removing what didn’t, and building something in its space, Sayonara won’t become more active, it’ll become unmissable like before.
Interior / Exterior:
I wanted to make sure I included this because it has been in my mind when writing this app!! If given the role, the exterior will be untouched because it’s absolutely chef's kiss. As for the interior, at least for a bit, it’ll be untouched as well.. As to the fact that I know it was only recently finished a few weeks ago. No need to remove something done so recently and done so well! But, yes, I did not forget about this, at all !!

Three events I’d like to do:
Noting, Yona-Yona has already agreed to do some sort of event/collab!! Haven't thought of an event for that though.. Yet, hopefully I’ll get the chance too!
Event 1 - Haunted Gift Shop
Event Intro:
For one night only, Sayonara Gift Shop has been cursed by an unseen entity! Customers and workers have reported strange occurrences.. Items disappearing.. Eerie whispers, and shadowy figures in the store! Something just isn’t right and it’s up to the brave citizens of Karakura to uncover the mystery behind the recently haunted gift shop.. Before it’s too late!
Phase 1: The Investigation Begins!

Event 1 - Haunted Gift Shop
Event Intro:

Eerie whispers, and shadowy figures in the store! Something just isn’t right and it’s up to the brave citizens of Karakura to uncover the mystery behind the recently haunted gift shop.. Before it’s too late!
Phase 1: The Investigation Begins!
- Atmosphere: As players enter Sayonara, the lightning will be different (maybe Redstone torches?.. Dark lighting too!). The usual cheerful ambiance would be replaced by an eerie silence, broken by the hum of dying lights and whispers (Maybe a w2g?). The shop is in a state of disarray, displays are overturned, items scattered, shelves a mess, as if they’ve been disturbed!
- Interactive Elements:
- Signs are placed strategically around the store to describe the unsettling details: cold drafts in sealed areas, shadowy smudges on the windows, the disarray on the shelves, etc.
- /its will also be sent at random times, possibly to describe whispers or to interact with customers.
- Players can find books and hidden signs that are meant to be ‘handwritten notes’ and maybe like mystery symbols, not sure yet!
- A w2g room that plays whispers, children’s laughter, and or maybe like a distorted music box to heighten the whole scary feel.
- ‘NPC’ Interactions:
- Players are encouraged to engage with ‘NPCs’ (Shopkeeper, other staff, event if the want to be involved, etc) who behave oddly, eyes darting around, voices shaking, maybe speaking in cryptic messages.
- Saying creepy things like.. “We shouldn’t have moved it..” Or “We were warned.. But no one listened..” Really selling that haunted vibe.. !!
- One ‘NPC’ looking distressed, clutching a broken bracelet whispering about a diary they lost.
- Clues and Lore: Players begin finding clues that point toward the origin of the haunting:
- A diary from a long-gone employee hidden somewhere within the store. It recounts their unease around a particular object, something acquired from a visiting vendor who “should never have come.”
- A box (shipment) listing strange, unaccounted for items like.. “1x Unknown Relic - DO NOT DISPLAY, FRAGILE.”
- A worn book on folklore from a far away place, referencing a wandering spirit known as the collector, drawn to places filled with random objects.
- Letters or tags in random places that read creepy messages like “Don’t look behind the curtain.” Ominous scary things..
- A burned out candle found near the back of the store, surrounded by markings.
Phase 2: The Ghost Strike!
- As the mystery deepens, a sudden event occurs, the lights cut out almost completely, the sound of the front door slamming shut echoes through the store. The ghosts arrived.. !
- Visual/Roleplay Cues:
- Players may begin to see staff “possessed” or taken over by spirits.
- Ghosts (played by event staff or shop staff) begin wreaking havoc, tossing items (via actions), rearranging sighs, whispering secrets, and appearing suddenly onto to seemingly vanish again or run off. Everyone can kind of decide how they want to play their ghost-like creature.
- Countermeasures:
- One of the ‘NPC's stumbles out from the storage room, clutching a small box of protective items from the shrine, omamoris.
- These items help players temporarily banish or repel the ghosts, allowing them to continue their investigation.
Phase 3: The Great Ghost Hunt..
- With the hauntings at full force, players are now tasked with tracking down the epicenter, the cursed object that began it all, before the spirits consume the shop entirely.
- Scavenger Hunt Mechanics:
- The ghosts (or staff) leave behind a final set of riddles or visual clues, hinting at the cursed item’s hiding place.
- These clues may lead players through multiple parts of the store, from the front area to the employee-only back rooms (opened for the event), even in hidden compartments
- Final encounter:
- Once the source is discovered, perhaps a small cursed relic, a cracked mirror or something similar! The players must perform a final ritual to get rid of the spirits (led by a normal employee.. OR a shrine maiden if one is willing, allowing other factions to involve themselves too!)
- ^^ this could be group chanting, or returning objects to the shrine box while reading the final passage of the diary.
- Victory ^_^
- Once the spirit is appeased or banished, the store returns to its normal state. The ghosts fade, and the staff breathe collective sigh of relief.
- The player or group who finds the object and completes the ritual first wins a prize (could be an IC item, discount, or an amount of yen)
Event 2 - Valentine’s Day CUPID
Event Intro:
Love is in the air at Sayonara Gift Shop, but this year, we’re celebrating with a twist! Instead of buying a gift for yourself, you’ll be participating in Sayonara’s Secret Cupid, a mystery gift exchange where you’ll be paired with another player to surprise them with a special gift! The challenge? You won’t know exactly who you’re buying for, only a few hints about their interests, provided secretly by Sayonara’s matchmakers! Whether it’s something thought out or something funny, it’s up to you!
Phase 1: Sign-Ups & Cupid’s Matchmaking
- In the weeks leading up to the event, Sayonara’s will drop a forum during openings where participants can sign up for the gift exchange (an announcement explaining will be sent during the openings and in the discord). The theme is to make a new friend! It’s like a pen pal program.. But valentines!
- How it works:
- Players sign up ICly during an opening or OOcly via the discord server.
- Each participant is randomly assigned another, their “Friend Cupid” recipient.
- Instead of revealing names, Sayonara provides each gifter with a brief description of their recipient’s interests, personality, or aesthetic, enough to spark some creativity.
- The Fun Part - Getting the gifts!
- Participants are encouraged to buy their gift from Sayonara .. though it can be from elsewhere or ‘handmade’.
- Players are invited to browse Sayonara’s newly arranged gift area just for this event, cozy and tailored to good gift ideas for this event specifically.
- All items bought at Sayonara for the event are discounted so everyone can participate regardless of their yen count.
- There will be a small wrapping station available, if players wish to go further and roleplay out wrapping their gift, etc. Really, up to them!
Phase 2: The Grand Gift Exchange
- The Exchange:
- Players will gather and one at a time, are guided to their Secret Friend Cupid - now revealed! (I’ll do this.. Since that’s a lot of work to make sure everyone gets to the person they were set with)
- Each person presents the gift they carefully selected, along with a short message, sharing a little about why they picked what they did.
- Recipients are encouraged to respond with a thank-you and maybe a fun fact about themselves in return!
- We’ll have a little photo corner too if they wish to take a cute photo together as well!
Event 3 - Sayonara’s Summer Style Showdown (What a mouthful!)
Event Intro:
Summer is here, and Sayonara Gift Shop is celebrating in style! We’re inviting all fashion lovers to strut their stuff in Sayonara’s Summer Style Showdown, a beach-themed fashion competition where creativity, confidence, and summer vibes take center stage. Do you have the coolest swimwear? The most tropical outfit? The wildest beach accessories? It’s time to show off your best sun-soaked look for a chance to win exclusive summer-themed prizes!
Phase 1: Contestant Sign-Ups
- Players will sign up either through forms or at Sayonara Gift Shop to enter the fashion show. This’ll be a week or two before so people can get their outfits ready.
- There will be three outfit categories contestants can choose from :
- Swimwear - The trendiest swimsuits, cover-ups, and poolside looks.
- Tropical - Hawaiian shirts, floral dresses, beach vacation vibes, anything tropical!
- Surfer - Laid-back boardshorts, surfer style outfits, wave-ready fits.
- Players must prepare their outfits in advance and be ready to walk the runway!
Phase 2: The Runway Walk!
- The event moves to a custom-build sand runway near the beachfront or inside Sayonara, depends on what I’m allowed to do…
- Contestants will walk the runway one by one, showing their beach-inspired outfits.
- A panel of judges (selected players..) will rate outfits based on :
- Creativity - Does the outfit stand out?
- Theme fit - Does it match the summer/beach aesthetic?
- Confidence - Did they bring the best energy to the stage?

How many employees do you plan to have?:
About 20-30.. But they’ll be separated into these different positions.
Trial employees:
These are new team members who are brought on board for a period to assess their performance, skills, and how well they fit into the team dynamic. During this time, they’ll be given a chance to learn the ropes and receive training.. Along to showcase their abilities! They’ll be able to work shifts with a manager watching closely - obviously receiving payment and will eventually be able to branch into a more secured role below!
Security:
The security team will be tasked with maintaining a safe and secure environment within the shop. They’ll handle crowd control on busy days or events, and ensure the shop is a safe space. They’ll be paid per shift.. This will be kept to 4-6 workers, keeping a low count. 2-3 per shift.
On the floor workers:
These employees will be the front-line workers, directly interacting with customers and assisting them in finding what they’re looking for. They will be walking around the store, engaging with customers, answering questions, showcasing products, Their role is to keep the shopping experience dynamic and interactive, ensuring the customers feel welcomed and supported. These employees should be outgoing, friendly, and have a good understanding of the store’s inventory to provide the best service. This’ll be about 8-10 workers. 2-3 per shift.
Cashiers:
The cashier team will be responsible for processing transactions. They will manage the registers, ensure that customers check out efficiently, and offer assistance with any inquiries regarding pricing or product availability. Cashiers must be quick, attentive, and organized by ensuring smooth operations! This’ll be about 12-15 workers.. 2-3 per shift.
Managers:
The managers will be responsible for overseeing some of the operations of the shop. They’ll help the shopkeeper make sure the inventory is up to date with the panel, as well as make sure all employees are happy. Along with this, they’ll be able to host openings if I am not available and they have someone to advert. 1-2 workers, 1 per shift.. They can still attend shifts even if the shopkeeper is there.
[!] APPLICATIONS:
Applications for positions at Sayonara would be handled in the same way as they have been previously. Interested individuals can apply by filling out a Google form, which will gather basic information about experience, interests, and more. If applicants would like, they could skip the form and attend an interview directly. While the form is the preferred method for most, interviews are an option for those who wish to get it done icky. Applications can choose whichever method suits them best, or even do both if they’d like to show their dedication!
[!] SHOP PANEL UI:
When it comes to using the shop panel, all new employees will receive a full walkthrough during a VC training session upon being accepted into Sayonara. This hands-on explanation will guide them step-by-step through each feature, ensuring they feel confident and prepared to use it on their own. To support this, I will also create and provide an in-depth screen-recorded video that covers everything shown in the VC and more. This video will be available for employees to revisit at any time, whether they need a refresher, missed something during training, or simply prefer visual learning at their own pace. I want to make sure every team member, regardless of how they best absorb information, has the resources they need to understand and effectively use the shop panel.
Im not sure how different the shopkeeper panel is, so this is based on the employee panel UI.
Home:
The home page shows you the basics for yourself and the shop. Here you can find your own personal total sales last month and ever.. Along with a yearly overview, shifts attended, items sold, etc. This can also show the most popular items and most active employees in the last month.
Sell:
Here is where the most focus is, at least for employees. This is where they’ll sell items, typing it into the items and adding it to the order once a shift is active, they can check out the item, add discounts, and see their own stats.

[!] UNIFORMS:
I have plans of editing the uniform to be a more vibrant style, such as the image placed below. I believe since Sayonara is a gift shop, I think the whole vibrant happy feeling would work the best.. THOUGH, I do love the current uniforms so If I'm accepted, they might get to shine a little bit longer. (Whoever made them, deserves an applause, yum!)

Name:
Nyoka Khang
Age:
65.. years young!
Some of her Backstory:
Khang’s life has been full of unexpected twists.. Born into a wealthy family in Germany, her childhood was marked by privilege. Her parents were well-known in elite circles, and she had access to the finest things in life, grand homes, lavish vacations, and high society events. Despite this, Nyoka developed a sense of independence early on along with a curiosity that went beyond material wealth. While others might have been content with their luxuries, she was fascinated by the inner workings of everything around her, constantly seeking to learn and grow, whether it was through books, culture, or personal experiences. As Nyoka got older, she felt the pressure of her family’s expectations, which often leaned toward traditional career paths. Despite this, she defied convention and pursued her own interests. This led her to eventually leave Germany for new opportunities in the culinary world, then teaching, and finally discovering that the world had much more to offer than just her high-end kitchens. What really sparked her enthusiasm was the process of creating something from nothing and the idea of building something that would endure.. Like a shop or business of her own. Nyoka has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. As someone who’s been an educator and mentor for decades, she’s accustomed to leading and guiding others. Now, she sees this as a chance to expand her horizons. Her time as a teacher, her exposure to business management, and her deep understanding of others have prepared her for this. In her personal life, Nyoka has found contentment with her wife, Akemi, a woman she met much later in life. As she tries to embark on this new chapter, thrilled to share her life with Akemi, and her children, in the growing community of Karakura!
Why she’d be a good shopkeeper:
Nyoka Khang would make an exceptional shopkeeper due to her extensive life experience, her natural ability to connect with people, and her mindset. Having spent over three decades as an educator, Nyoka has developed a deep understanding of how to manage, mentor, and encourage others, skills that are invaluable in a retail environment. Her warm and approachable demeanor allows her to create strong relationships with both customers and staff, fostering an inviting and friendly atmosphere. She’s the type of person who genuinely listens to others, ensuring that everyone feels valued and appreciated, which is essential for building customer loyalty. Additionally, Khang’s background in teaching and mentoring gives her the skills to guide her team effectively. She’s used to nurturing growth and providing guidance, making her someone who can motivate and inspire others. In essence, Nyoka’s combination of leadership, creativity, and knowledge makes her a fantastic fit as a shopkeeper.. !
