What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
Priest
What is your motivation for applying?
I have officially been playing srp for a year now, and I would like to get involved in a faction! Previously, I had applied for teacher, but even after getting denied I decided to immerse myself into roleplaying differently! I spent a lot of time learning different roleplay styles, like p2l, etc! But my biggest thing that I noticed I enjoyed was detailrp and spirit roleplay! I consistantly have found a lot of pleasure in learning and detailing spirit related roleplay scenarios, and after gathering a lot of lore for one of my characters, this is the most lore accurate job he would go into! And I would love to keep it lore accurate because it makes the experience even more worth the while!
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it? First and foremost, I know I have a lot to learn, but I have, read on some of the "news articles," in game books, and always loved getting the detail rp on getting omikuji's and fortunes, along with tours at the shrine itself, along with reading up on the origins of the mines, and some of the sacred places within the shrine!

Character Full Name: Hi, my name is Ryun-Ji Yukishiro!

Character Title: Mr. Yukishiro
Character Age: 21
Character Marital Status: I am.. very single
Character Nationality: Korean
Degree/Certifications (If applicable): n/a
Backstory: "Growing up in South Korea, I had a passion for history and fashion, which I indulged in most of my childhood before my parents died. But don't feel bad, I was quite young so it doesn't bother me much anymore, I have 2 brothers, and even though we have grown apart, we all moved to Karakura, Japan together. Before I had dealt with extreme anger management, and learning to channel my anger and taking therapy classes to help me maintain my own self control, created a big impact on my life. One of my biggest things is finding meaning and cherishing every moment that comes by, because I don't want to take anything for granted. Learning about the town of Karakura has especially brought me peace. It was then that I had found a love for visiting the Shrine daily. After school I would visit the shrine, and learn more and more everyday, to the point of bonding with one of the priests Tekk. Any questions I had, regarding history, he would gladly offer detailed explanations, cleansings and even taught me about the importance of Kami. As I had been on their bad side before, and experienced some bad luck which I did end up getting cleansed for thankfully. It was later on that I met some of the other maidens and priests like Koi, and Reika. From then on, the shrine became a place of peace for me, I would go to meditate, have simple spars in the dojo, and make wishes to my loved ones along with bringing friends with me. Each and everyday I felt a strong connection with shrine, and a woman who treated me like her own son, had later expressed she wanted me to become a doctor. However, when the time came, I couldn't hold back, how much peace and safety I felt, in the most sacred place in the city, I believe its something that has always been apart of me, something that I could never let go of, and something that I could never trade to do something that didn't stick out. It was from then I told her, 'I think I'll become a priest, I have never felt so sure,' and her eyes bloomed with happiness, accepting and knowing I found something I enjoy deeply. From then on she would come with me most of the times I visited the shrine! On my way, sometimes bears would come across my path, simply accompanying me to the gates before the trail, and I to would begin offering them little treats of freshly caught fish!"
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS
How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
"Some would consider me shy, others would consider me outgoing and humble, but personally, I would consider myself a self reserved listener. I try my very best to respect anyone, including the sacred grounds and all staff members. I am very quiet and do my best to keep an open mind to all guests that visit the shrine! I love to ask questions and typically, carrying some of the customs I learned in South Korea, I brought along a lot of the mannerisms in common, like bowing and thanking as part of my daily habits!"
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it? "Well, first and foremost, that is absolutely unacceptable! The shrine grounds are meant to be a sacred place, a sanctuary where people come seeking peace, guidance, and spiritual solace. It symbolizes a connection to the divine and it deserves to be treated with the utmost respect, as its honestly common sense. I would first start out by remaining calm and composed then I would approach them straight up and ask them why they are acting out so inappropriately. From there, I would take the opportunity to educate them and encourage them to show proper respect!"
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
"Why do I want to become a priest? Well, in all honesty, the shrine has played such an important role in my life ever since I was a child. There was a time in my life where I struggled to control my temper! I was quick to anger, and it often caused problems for both myself and the people around me. But after finding my inner peace along with moving, the shrine became a place where I could slow down, reflect, and truly learn what it meant to have patience and self-discipline! Many of the priests here, have taught me that strength isn't measured by how loud your anger is, but by your ability to remain composed even if your emotions aren't at their strongest. Through their guidance, I learned self-control, respect, and the importance of understanding others before acting! Even as quiet of a person I've been my whole life, and how hard I tried to mask the pain I have been through, learning traditions, and history, gave me a deep appreciation for the shrine's purpose all together. Its more then some beautiful place, its a sanctuary where people can find clarity and hope during difficult times. Thats what I hope to achieve as a priest. I want to preserve the sense of peace for others, just as those before me did. I wish to be a light for others, and whether someone seeks guidance, comfort or simply a quiet place to meditate and get their thoughts together, I want them to leave feeling like a changed person, as if any weight or burdens have been lifted. All those I can give advice to as I am is one thing, but knowing that I can do it in the place where I learned and overcame my own challenges, only then I will know I have achieved the purpose bestowed upon me, and thats spreading any type of positivity through a world of spirituality, and pure respect!"

What are the core values of your character? (OPTIONAL - MORE INFO IN FAQ) "My core values? Oh, um, preferably I would say my core values is loyalty, respect, self-control, and self-discipline. I do my very best to stay calm, quiet and composed while listening to others, as it has trained myself to think before I speak! I am a logical thinker and I typically will make decisions based on what is most beneficial for the majority, so I would also say that I don't really hold grudges. I am slow to trusting others as its naive of me to just believe anyone, which is why any situations of conflicts, I will always ask for both sides of a story, because I do not like to be biased towards others based on likely rumors, that occur often in life. Communication is also a core quality of mine, and its something I strive to improve on daily, I know Im not perfect, and I know that I have much to learn, so I thank you for your time, truly! And I do hope you will consider me as a future trainee to becoming a Priest. This is a dream of mine, so thank you once again!"
