Backstory:
Иван Иван! Вы в порядке, Иван? Вставай! Кто-то звонит один о двое
Translation

Ivan Ivan! Are you alright Ivan? Get up! Someone call 102!

Ivan didn't come from the cleanest of families. His father, Sergei, was a weapons dealer for the Ukrainian resistance against Russia. His older brother, Alexei was an information broker for the resistance, ran the streets selling info in return for drugs, alcohol, and of course money. Ivan didn't want to join the resistance, he wanted to be a hockey player, and he practiced and practiced for it, and eventually became surprisingly good. He participated in leagues in his age group, and went through college trying to get an athletic scholarship.

One day, Ivan's high school team made it to regional's and were faced up against The Moscow Bears. They were known for playing dirty, but it's what made them the top team in the league, and they showed no sign of stopping their devious acts. Surprisingly however, they seemed to be playing fairly legitimate, causing a bit of confusion for Ivan and his fellow players. "Goal Novokuznetsk!" The announcer spoke in fluent Russian. Ivan had just scored the first goal of the game. His teammates gathered around and all gave him a slap on the helmet and cheering. That's when it all changed, Moscow started getting more aggressive. "Goal, Moscow!" "Goal! Moscow Bears!" "Goal for Moscow!"
They were getting wiped, and didn't stand a chance. Ivan got the puck and started bringing it down the ice.

The next thing he knew, he was staring up at the ceiling of the ice rink and the people in a circle around him, his nose was bloody and he couldn't feel his right leg. As he tried to sit up, they told him not to move and that he'd be okay. The ambulance had come and got his gear off, loaded him onto the stretcher and into the ambulance. The paramedics were talking about his leg having a huge gash in it and that he had lost quite a bit of blood. Turns out that a player from the Moscow Bears had chased him down on the ice and slashed at the back of his knees with his hockey stick, causing him to fall forwards back onto the ice, breaking his nose. The guy that hit him must have been strong for the stick to have cut deep enough for the pain to have been numbed by his brain. He stayed in the hospital for several days, sitting in bed, watching the news, downing painkillers every so often. It was a mind numbing process that he went through. One he was able to leave, the doctor told him that he probably wouldn't be able to play Hockey ever again, and that he'd walk with a limp from now on.

Иван! Идите, они идут! Быстро быстро! УБЕДИТЕСЬ, ЧТО Я НЕ СОБИРАЮСЬ В ВАШИХ СВИНАХ"

Translation

"Ivan! Go, they're coming! Quickly quickly! Get back! I'm not going to be taken away and imprisoned by you pigs!"

He went home with those words ringing through his head the entire way. He felt like crying but they would never actually come. Reaching home his Mother, Аllа, greeted him, got him some food, and made sure he was comfortable. A couple hours had passed and Ivan was starting to fall asleep when he heard the sound of shouting and glass shattering. Getting up to see what was going on he heard Alexei, "Dad! Help me, please!" And then Sergei ran into the house, grabbed a pistol from off the counter and told Ivan to run. The police busted through the door, and Ivan's father was tased before he could fire a shot. The four of them were apprehended and brought down to the police station. After finding Sergei and Alexei guilty of working with the resistance, they let Ivan and Alla go. They were still shaking after what had happened and now that their only source of income was cut off, Alla thought it'd be a good idea to send Ivan somewhere else so he wouldn't have to turn to a life of crime for money. So she sent him to Japan, where she heard of a great school called Taketastu High. Thus bringing Ivan to where he is now, Taketatsu, alone, and no one to talk to.
