Backstory:
Benji was born in 1992, on February 7th to French-Japanese diplomats in the beautiful city of Reims in France. Thanks to their work, Benji’s family was always on the move and Benji had to adjust to never making longtime friends. Not only was this a help in building up his emotional stamina but it also allowed him to create and perfect an easygoing, likable, bubbly personality. Despite all the changes in his life, academics were always a priority for Benji and his family. When Benji was only 5, he moved from France to Tokyo, where he was first heavily influenced by mainstream Japanese culture and was able to practice his Japanese. When he was only 6, they moved to Antwerp, Belgium, where Benji was able to continue and then perfect his French, and make friends with a group of kids he bonded closely with. This was cut short when he turned 8 and his family moved to Seoul, South Korea, where Benji realized the discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community and how hard it was to be yourself in a society like such. However the conditioning he saw there and other aspects that had come into play in his life made Benji realize his homosexuality, but where he was, it wasn’t safe for him to come out. Thankfully, when Benji was in Switzerland just around when he turned 10 years old, he came out to his parents and friends and was met with okay reactions. His parents were hesitant and not the most accepting at first however over time they became more accepting of Benji.

After a long series of continuous moving and popularity in many different time zones, Benji finally settled down on his own at 18 in Karakura, ready to begin studying to become a surgeon at the Karakura Hospital. He went away to Brown University for neuroscience and medicinal biology, before going to Harvard Medical School. After all of his schooling was said and done, Benji was finally able to acquire a position at the Karakura Hospital, and after a month of training, became an official surgeon. Benji is currently with his fiance, Bradlee Barlow, and has custody of the Le children thanks to the meeting of them between his cousin, an adopted member of the Le family, and keeps close relations with other students involved with them. He’s peppy and happy but is always working to perfect the craft that is his surgery. And while this may be informal, Benji, in his own words, is “that b*tch.” Though he is very self confident, he is also caring of others around him.
