WHAT YOU WANT TO SUGGEST OR MENTION: Bring back car sales.
HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT THE SERVER/COMMUNITY?: To begin with car sales are the most coomon and challenging hustle for many players, it has a high reward and a fun experience. Since cars dont have copies, it is also easy to sell them as there is no ownership transer and they can be sold like regular items. Removing this doesnt benefit the coommunity, It only benefits schoolrp cuz people will have to pay ooc money to get their own car now therefore having a car can only be done if people pay. Not to mention that it is extremely unfair that older players were able to buy many cars for free and new players will have to pay to get a car. Lastly, car hustling is what made so many players rich as it has high profits and by removing it you are destroying a bit aspect of hustle rp. With the current system, buisness is just selling toys or applying to get a buisness officially which is some times not so fun as it is more fun to run a self made buisness which isnt selling toys in the auction house

I have a better proposition but I’ll leave that for a later post. I don’t know Mike’s reasoning for it, but I do think it shouldn’t be publicly available like that. Lot of drama stories and lots of issues with it. Namely, people profiting off a custom they bought. Basically, consider it p2w if I were able to buy a custom with IRL money and transfer the IRL money into IC money. See how that works?

I was gonna explain this with more detail in my own suggestion to be able to sell vehicles.
heres a simplified version though:
You lose IRL money by selling your car bc the amount ur selling ur vehicle is not worth the amount you bought it for.

Even if you were to profit only 1000 yen, the factor still stands. To pay oocly money and receive icly money isn’t fair to those who cannot spend oocly money

This isn’t something a staff team can moderate; even if you bought people’s stuff, that stiffens the point here. You bought something from someone who potentially originally got the car via buying a custom.

“But, what if they didn’t own the custom car and they also just had bought it!!!”

Even in this case, that means that the car HAD to have been bought from someone who owned the custom car unless the owner of it gave it away for free- and again, it’d be difficult for staff to tell and would only cause issues

(and likely, people wouldn’t give away a car they bought with ooc money for free. either way, the custom car STEMMED from ooc money so whether or not you owned the custom wouldn’t matter since that means that in some way shape or form, OOC money was transferred to IC money)

Nylu explained it perfectly. Its pay to win. If you want to get a vehicle, spend your own money. If it was easier moderated, maybe, but its not. There are ways to make money in game that are available to everyone, from applying for factions, to applying for IC jobs, to even scamming people in game. Reselling vehicles isn't the only way to make money in SRP.

the point isnt to make money off reselling vehicles, its when people dont want their vehicles no more, they give it away but they dont wanna give it away for free, which is normal

And that’s cool and perfectly allowed. But if you sold those two, that would be you transferring ooc money into ic yen which wouldn’t be allowed even if you didn’t pay for the custom

the only reason this works with custom weapons is because you have to pay more than the original price icly to get a copy (and you aren’t allowed to sell those for anymore than what they’re already worth), cars don’t have the same affect

Extremely difficult to respawn cars when they are lost

Imagine an admin has to spawn a car to replace an old one, but first they need to go and check who actually owns the car. Extremely time consuming...
