Playtime
I've had my fair share of playtime on SRP. While I'm not on 24/7, and I do have a life outside of the silly block game, this server, and roleplaying in general, is one of my biggest hobbies and passions. Pushing through life and balancing school, work, relationships, etc. I will NOT be available all the time, but I don't think the time that I play is all that important. It's more about being consistent and how you make use of that time. So let's get into that.
RP Experience
What is your motivation for applying?:
Ever since I joined SRP in October of 2022, I strived for more. I've been on a huge journey from first joining to now. I never thought I could be a part of a faction - but here I am now, leaving Professor faction to pursue something that will be much more fulfilling for me. Again, I never thought I could join a faction - It didn't even cross my mind of EVER applying for KPD. KPD and EMS always seemed like two untouchable factions for me. Something that was more a distant dream than a tangible goal. But, I'm trying. And if I get accepted or denied, I can say I tried.
That is why I'm applying, to reach for the skies. To be something more. SRP means so much to me, and I want to return that favor with the absolute bare minimum. I want to contribute to this amazing community and do something I never thought possible. KPD here I come! <3
In more formal words though, police work means a lot more to me than just a silly video game - Both of my parents, and my uncle served in the military - So I've always had a bit of passion towards the job. And while I don't think I could ever enlist in the military or be a police officer in real life - for more reasons than one - I think it would be a really fulfilling experience to roleplay that out and explore some new things in my life!
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
I do not have all too much knowledge about police work, besides intensive research of the publicly available documents of police equipment and Karakura laws. I will list the information that I know below.

The captain is basically just a lil person BELOW the Commissioner, but like - still really important if yah catch my drift? They control all of the other important things, like officers! They dish out orders like it's - Okay I don't have a cool simile for this one so just think of it yourself. BUT YEAH, these guys are really cool and are VERY important for both officers and detectives.
[Detective]
Detectives detect amirite? These fellas here do all the ACTUAL fun stuff. They take reports, inspect crime scenes, SHOOT PEOPLE WITH TRANQ DARTS? Yeah, that's just wonderful!
[Officer]
Officers are the foundation of KPD. They are the starting position for any accepted applicant, and they provide a stable base for promotions and KPD as a whole. Officers are tasked with taking reports, dealing with arrests, patrolling the city, attending events, raiding properties, and so much more.

GangRP
The vast majority of my time on SchoolRP has been with GangRP. The first gang I ever joined was a very small gang known as the Royal Kaiju. During this time, I was carrying most of the activity in the gang. Often taking my time with actions and eventually writing out detailed descriptions of the activity later on, I used this early development as a path to grow into a more descriptive and an altogether better writer.
I eventually left Royal Kaiju and joined Sinnerous. At the time, Sinnerous was an unverified gang and had a more split 50/50 with perms and roleplay. This type of gameplay opened my eyes to what would later lead to my current P2L style of CombatRP. P2L, in my opinion, has been a much more enjoyable form of combat than roll based. After all, we're here to roleplay, not be Valorant sweats... BUT with that being said, I still do enjoy roll based combat and think it has its place in roleplay.

FactionRP
I have applied for a plethora of different factions on SRP. The first faction that I ever applied to was the teacher faction - but I quickly removed that application. SO, the actual first faction I tried joining was reporter! Having a passion for writing, reporter faction seemed like the best option, and after a long wait and a lot of writing - My application was sadly denied. But, I did not give up there. I kept applying for different factions, wanting to involve myself with the community more and build a name for myself.
After being denied from reporter faction and government faction - I eventually applied for Professor! Professor was the first faction that I was accepted to, and to say it changed my perspective on things would be the biggest understatement of the year.
I learned a lot of things from the short amount of time that I was in professor faction - and one of those things was that I had to actually be invested in something to join it! (Well duh, right?) But - after a few months of being in the faction, I left. It felt devastating, honestly - my biggest goal since joining SRP was to join a faction - and I just threw it all away. Or did I? I guess this sort of segways to the next question. What is my motivation for applying? -

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
Police, in my opinion, is one of the most important factions on SRP, behind faculty related positions. I personally think that the Police Faction is fundamental to the success of SRP and that, without it, a lot of the systems in place and roleplay opportunities would systematically collapse due to so many important pieces of roleplay being ripped away.
Police offer a foundation and balance for many other roleplay systems on SRP. For example, without Police, GangRP, CrimeRP, and GovernmentRP would basically collapse. And without GangRP and CrimeRP, a lot of roleplay opportunities within EMS would be lost, which would cause a whole other spiral of poor outcomes due to the lack of KPD.
So, without even saying anything further - KPD is already a major addition to SRP and without it, SRP would just not be the same.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I understand this.
What's your character's full name?:
Tuesday, 12:45 P.M.
That was the time the girl was set to arrive for the interview, and that was the time she was there - a few minutes prior, in fact. Her body made way to seat itself at the interview desk. A quick glance was given to the room, studying it's appearance. A few moments were to pass before the interviewer cleared their throat, beginning with a simple question, her name.
The Kuunbrak allowed her eyes to light up for a moment, this was the moment she had been waiting for - this was it. A soft Italian accent lined her tongue as she spoke.
"Vasali Kuunbrak, although - I hope for that to be changed to Officer Kuunbrak soon enough."
Her words held nothing but confidence as she finished.
How old is your character (if accepted)?:
The woman offered a sharp nod, a slight dip of the lips as she did so, but words eventually floated -
"I just recently turned 30."
What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
The girl released a cough, reaching forth to take a sip of the provided water. She allowed the liquid to grace her throat before being able to speak properly once more.
"I was assigned female at birth, and that is what I identify as. As for my pronouns, She/They is fine."

(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):
Once more the girl was to frown. She hadn't been too occupied with school as of late. Health issues had been all too strenuating for her. Although, she still did her best to keep up with her studies.
"I have my Bachelors in law, and have been working toward my masters."
What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
She let out a more pleasant hum this time, relaxing back in the chair as she grew more comfortable with this conversation.
"I know Japanese and English, I've been touching up on my Italian as of recently as well."
Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
The girl who sat before would be nothing short of great. At least in her own unique way. A bubbly personality, popping out at people and at times being childish - well.. that was her youth. In today's world the girl would have been molded by a city she would now swear to protect. Karakura. What a beautiful hell. If you could even call those blood stained streets beautiful.
Without even taking a second glance, you could tell this girl had been through the worst. A stoic expression burning at her skin every second of the day. With every glance over the shoulder you knew something haunted her very being. This wasn't a job to her, it was salvation. A chance to protect herself and others as she couldn't in the past.
A wave of dark hair would find its way climbing down the girl's back and framing her face as if it was a picture. Slightly shallowed, green eyes pronounced themselves against her dark skin.
A dormant echo of pain lingered behind her steps, showing itself in the way she held herself. It was weak, hurt - yet trying. Clinging onto a chance. She was not going to give up, that much was evident in her form.
How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
Formalities were key. Formalities kept her alive. Any slip or crack in her demeanor was a rarity. Emotion was weakness. Or so she thought - The girl, around criminals, civilians, and suspects, wouldn't show much to be observed. She would stay quiet, usually, and allow for things to happen around her. Carefully watching rather than actively participating in anything. The girl seemed like she had no care for others while she was working. But - at times, that tough exterior cracked.
Casual situations would be relatively the same. Nothing too out of the ordinary besides her being chattier at times. Behind a bottle of liquor this girl could be the most active in the room.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Co-workers were just that, co-workers. If she had a say in it, she wouldn't talk to them at all, but unfortunately, she did think teamwork was important. If she worked with these people, she might as well not be on awful terms with them. She would begrudgingly attend any social events that included her co-workers, although not trying to appear so.. depressed, in harsh words, to not lessen other peoples moods. See! She cared deep down! Girl was just a little softie in her heart <3
She would deny all of that, though - not wanting people to see through her.

What's your character's backstory?
[Early Life]
February 16th, 1992.
Vasali Vamlokin Kuunbrak. An odd name, an even stranger face to accompany it. The girl was an oddity the day she was born. Every second that led up to Vasali's birth was filled with misery. Her parents were constantly fighting. No day went by when alcohol didn't run in the blood of her father. Nor was there a day that went by that blood wasn't openly spilled in the streets of her hometown. Vasali was not a child, she was an attempt at salvation. To save a broken marriage, and how well did that go? Well - for the first couple years of her life, it did work. He father stopped drinking, arguments broke out less frequently. Life was.. better - in a way. Although, she wouldn't know that all too much.
The girl was only 5 years old when she was shipped away to live with her grandparents and her sister. Her mother being killing in an accident, and her father poisoning himself with that vile liquid every second he could reach for the bottle, living with others was the only option she and her sister had. Life stayed the same for several years after this.. the same monotonous tasks. The same stories read to her at bedtime. The same everything. This was a constant in her life until she turned 13.
Crime. Crime boiled in her blood. Nothing serious, simple offenses. Truancy was a large problem in her earlier life - The girl battled with depression and several other health issues, often keeping her bedridden for several weeks at a time.
During this time, Vasali and her older sister, Carlona, grew closer. Every second of pain was shared with the girls. Carlona was the last and only major support for Vas.

[Teen Years]
15. When she was 15 Vasali was sent to an all-girls boarding school. Her grandparents thought it was the only solution to her truancy, and other delinquent behaviors at that - and in part, it did help. If anything, it kept her from getting any criminal charges on her record, which the girl would later be very thankful for.
Besides that, boarding school was hell. At least, that's what Vas thought. Schedule, structure... everything she despised in her earlier years. But it wasn't all bad - The young girl met several friends there. Italy was no stranger to several odd people, so she fit in quite well.
Everything was new in this place... She experienced a lot of firsts here too. First time drinking, first time sneaking out at night and staying up all night with friends... Friends - that was what really mattered here. The girl had a sense of belonging for the first time in... well - in her entire life. Being a Kuunbrak doesn't exactly put you at number one spot for being welcomed in this world. That was something she absolutely hated about herself. The name that haunted her... The name that one day, she would fit to herself and wear proudly.

[The Sound That Follows]
Tragedy. Pain. Grief.
Why did this keep happening to her?
It was 4:37 A.M. when she received the call. It was 4:44 when she left the house. It was 4:42 when her sister died. The following was... devastation. There was no room for agony. There was nothing. Her soul was an empty vessel as misery sunk into her skin and resided within her shallow and broken skeleton. Was this what she got for being attached? For loving someone so much that it hurt to be reminded of the laughter that was shared?
It was road rage. Nothing more, nothing less. Her sister was killed because of an inconsiderate disgrace of a human being, if you could even call what that monster is a human being. The girl was angry, grief stricken. Emotions were at an all-time high, and she wanted to do something stupid. And she would have - if not for her friends. No, her family. Not given through blood but through tears and pain and regret. Her chosen family were the ones who convinced her otherwise. To go about things the right way. So, she did.
It didn't take much to convince the courts. Hell, even without pressure from Vasali that monster would have been locked up for years. But it felt good. Getting justice, the way it should be delivered.

[Present Day]
Some time had passed, the girl had mostly left her troubled life behind. She was 30 now. Time flies, doesn't it? She had an office job while still maintaining her studies. Life was.. pitiful, to say the least. Nothing interested her besides school. The girl had been through a lot of health issues as of recently, and in passing had lost a lot of time for school. She had to polish up on her skills, her work... Everything felt so - empty. She had been out of Karakura for a while now, leaving back to Italy. Life was so vast yet hers was so barren. Amidst this desert she had been starved of any food or water for what felt like years now. Until one day. Graduation day. Everything stopped. Life was.. good? For the first time in years her life wasn't completely gloomy. She needed to do something with this. This momentum could not die, not on her watch.
Karakura. She hadn't been there in almost 2 years now, that beautiful hell. She wanted it, yearned for it. Something called for her deep within the core of that shattered city. This place was broken. . .
And she was going to fix it.

General knowledge
Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
A slight moment passed where the girl's face seemed to be plagued with confusion. She quickly shook it off, moving forward with the question.
"No, you are not legally alllowed to own a pocket knife in Karakura."
She took a second before continuing,
"If you were to be found with one on your person or in a property you own, you would be charged with possession of illegal weaponry, or three months in jail. Which, if I remember correctly, is a 300,000 yen bail."
Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
"Hm? Oh, yeah.. guess that's right - Kinda needa know that to know who to fine and who not to fine... See - if I had a say 'bout it-'
She took a pause, shaking her head.
"Nevermind, let's get too it. So, we got a few common items like melatonin, cough syrup, multi-vitamins, all the fun stuff. Then we got some more... obscure? Things...? Eh, stuff like canes, eye patches, that sorta stuff. But all of 'em fall under the same umbrella. You don't need a prescription to own any of those items."
If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
She perked up a slight. While the girl had little to no sympathy for criminals, she did have respect for the law, and abusing an inmate is a clear violation of an individual's rights.
"Well, I would immediately make sure that my body camera is recording and maintain a secure distance from the officers inflicting the abuse. I would then take in my surroundings, evaluating how many inmates there were, how many officers, and if there were other officers nearby."
She nodded before continuing,
"If there was more than one officer assaulting an inmate, I would look for any officers that could help me cool down the situation. Ultimately however, I would eventually be forced to step in. I cannot, in good will, allow for another human being to be harmed like this, whether it puts my safety at risk or not."
"Once the situation was under control, I would proceed to report the incident to proper authorities."
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
"Access the situation. Do not be immediately seen, that puts both myself and my co-worker in more danger. I would immediately call for backup and inform my co-workers of the location and how many suspects there were, alert for a code zero, and then, once I was absolutely sure that backup was on the way, I would intervene and follow proper procedures of apprehending a suspect."
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
Disdain. Pure disdain crossed this girl's face as the question was asked. She knew of the concept, hell- she's seen it. In her hometown officials there never played by the rules. But here? In the already crime infested streets of Karakura, the place she's called home for almost 16 years now? No. Absolutely not. The girl shook her head firmly, confident behind her decision.
"I would not accept that. There's absolutely no chance that I would let that pass. Whether it was a higher up or not, I would enforce the full power of the law, doing everything I can to stop them. I do not care for the circumstances or whatever flawed justice they might perceive as right. They are to be immediately reported. I would document all evidence I have of this, ensuring my safety as a priority of course. But - even if my safety was in jeperody due to reporting this situation, I would do so. I would express my concerns of safety and ask for things to be looked into immediately, and if they weren't- I would take things to the courts myself."
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
"Well, I can tell yah one thing for sure - that person's getting charged. I don't care who they or why they're doing it - it is common sense. No matter how far in the gutter you are, I have no room for pity in this workforce, especially when it comes to matters like this. They would be fined, most likely 25,000 yen, although I'm not sure what the fine is here in Karakura. If they unable to pay the fine, for one reason or another, they would be charged with obstruction of justice. That's it, end of the story. Again, I have no pity for individuals like this."
