can you join student council while in a team?

I recently joined a team (Track Team) and I had already applied for student council, the problem is I don't want to quit Track or vice versa ( if I get accepted), I asked the Student council Vice President and she was not sure if i could be on a team and join student council, so I have come to ask the more knowledgeable people about it, can you join Student Council and be on a team?

I've confirmed that you are able to join Student council whilst on track team with an alt account, you can not have the student council position and the track team position on the same user.
