CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY - Jin Terasu
*Note: All information in this biography cannot be used without "finding out" these facts through IC means. Thank you!*

Basic Information:

Jin Terasu is a seventeen-year-old boy. He stands at 5 ft. 10 in. (175 cm) and weighs in at 171 lbs. (77.5 kg). He was born on the 31st of October, 2006.

He retains a rather average build through accidental physicality (running, biking, climbing) over any intentional exercise, which leaves him somewhat weak in terms of raw strength but grants him above average stamina.

He doesn't care much for styling his medium-length jet-black hair, satisfied with making sure his bangs don't stop him from seeing. His eyes are a deep maroon, the intensity of the rare color contrasted well against his slightly tanned, beige skin.

His father, Tanaka Terasu, is Japanese. His mother, Tala Terasu, is Filipino. Jin, though, was born in America after his parents immigrated pursuing the ever-alluring American Dream.

Jin hasn't given much thought to ideas related to his identity, and simply shrugs at questions regarding complex politics or religion, opting to simply try to be nice to anyone and everyone. He does know he's biromantic, at least.

General Appearance (& picture):

Jin's favorite color is orange, but with the vibrant orange-laced sneakers and bandana worn around his neck, you'd probably be able to figure that out. Thankfully, he contrasts the bright color with a subdued blue sweater and faded blue jeans. He isn't one for jewlery, though allows a single gold chain to hang from his belt loops. Whenever he needs to carry things, he prefers a tattered gray messenger bag that he's had for years.

Alternatively, he wears a white shirt and black tie under a sleeveless sweater whenever he has to dress more "preppy." The bandana and sneakers stay, naturally.

He likes to maintain an air of workmanship no matter what he's wearing, and will always leave his hair unstyled and roll his sleeves up whenever he can get away with it.

Personality:

Jin is easy-going and optimistic, always looking for the next adventure or fun thing to do without caring much for planning or forethought. This leaves his book smarts and street smarts both somewhat lacking, as he struggles to exercise complex thinking about risks and consequences and maintains a slightly below-average grade as a result. This weakness doesn't seem to bother him, though, as he effortlessly goes with the flow of life. This attitude pairs well with his ability to learn quick when he's invested.

His voice is naturally a little deeper than his peers, though his tendency to get excited can betray this fact. He isn't the most polite, though is rarely ever rude intentionally; sometimes he just speaks too fast or without thinking, and isn't able to catch himself.

Jin's favorite hobbies are somewhat peculiar: he enjoys urban exploration and writing. He often makes records of interesting places he explores, or trespasses on (depending on who you ask) and the escapades that occur within. He always carries a squeeze-charged flashlight and a map of the area in case he gets the urge to explore, and always wears a gauze wrap around his hands and wrists in case he need to climb. His rather typical and direct way of speaking contradicts his descriptive and flourished prose when writing.

Backstory:

Jin Terasu was never one for academics, despite both his parents' wishes. American schools' level of rigor is much lower than the Asian systems his parents grew up in, and yet their son was barely managing to pass. Jin was clearly gifted, quickly learning Japanese and some Tagalog alongside his native English, but rarely bothered to apply himself properly. Having successful jobs and being relatively wealthy, Mr. and Mrs. Terasu thought their free-spirited son was spoiled and shipped him off to a private and strict boarding school in Chicago at the age of thirteen.

This move had the opposite effect of what was intended, however, as Jin befriended others "bad kids" like him and picked up his passion for urban exploration. Together, they would sneak from their dorm at the dead of night and scour the city for dusty, abandoned shopping malls or tunnels underneath the streets to graffiti, often narrowly dodging beat cops. His friends taught him to live life day-by-day and to have fun above all else, lessons that would stick to the boy as he became a teenager.

Jin's parents, however, were not as moved by the development of their only son into a hedonistic delinquent and took a drastic measure: transferring him to a reputable school all the way in Japan, in hopes that the culture there will find a way to fix his apathy towards his future. Jin, characteristically, took this in stride and saw it as another opportunity to have fun in an unfamiliar place.

Jin Terasu now arrives at Karakura, with no real goals or aspirations other than to do cools things, meet cool people, and see cool places until his parents inevitably move him again. However, his time there may just widen his narrow perspective on life.
