Chat System QOL

What's the title of your suggestion?: Chat System QOL

What's your suggestion?:
Revamping the way in which you can use IC commands (such as /w, /y) etc. Currently when you are on SRP, you have to do /w (your message) or whatnot. The solution is rework the plugin and the way in which you send messages. You can still /w to send a whisper, however I believe they should be reworked into channels.

For example, if I ran the command /w, as of now it says, "You cannot send an empty message." Under the new system, running the command /w (with no text added of course) would set ALL chats to immediately be whisper, instead of a normal talking, and would notify with you the message "You have set your channel to whisper." If you send a message with text such as /w "You suck" you would remain with the previously selected channel if you send another message and don't use an IC command. This same system would work for OOC chats, so if I ran /looc, you would by default send any messages into looc. The only channel you can't set to your default under said system be ooc, since there is a cooldown and running /ooc already turns it off. This could also be further implemented to areas such as /itl, /itc and languages too.

This is where the second part of my suggestion comes in which is to add a new ooc channel, known as wooc, short for whisper ooc. As you can guess, it would have the range of a whisper.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
The new system would make roleplaying in quick or fast paced scenarios much easier, and just be something nice to have, even as an option. It can get annoying to have to constantly do things such as /langw (language here) to whisper, especially if you are having just a casual conversation with someone. Implementing said solution wouldn't cause too much strain on the server or be necessarily hard at all too. I've also played on a certain server (which I cannot mention here) which happens to use a similar system, and I genuinely believe it is much easier to use once you get the hang of it, in comparison to the system we have now.

Adding WOOC is not just simply an alternative to /f msg. I often realize that large groups in areas of spawn such as plaza end up unnecessary flooding chat or having conversations (OOCLY) that make it hard to be able to focus on actual roleplay. Whilst you can always just focus on one person, it doesn't fix the issue of chat often times being flooded and backlogged by said conversations. A lot of the time /f msg may be broken or may not be able to be used in such large groups anyways.

I like this! This could also help prevent chats from flooding when it comes to tryouts or any other special events if players want to talk in /looc. Though, /f msg is a thing sometimes the plug-in breaks or maybe the two people or peoples talking may not have each other added in their friend list. Either way I think having a /qooc channel could be very efficient and useful.

-1. The channels are a nice idea, but this seems like a headache to adjust to. A whisper range version of /looc is interesting, though.

I don’t really see a point for the system to change at the current time, but down the line if it needs to change I don’t see why not go this route.
