What is your Minecraft username?: CoffinParty (RavenArtist is my main)

Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?):
ravenartist

What is your time zone?:
CST

Describe your activity on the server:
I am fairly active, I'm on almost every night with the occasional 1-2 day exception if I'm feeling burnt out.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Acknowledged and understood.

School Employee Role you are applying for?:
Librarian!

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
A Librarian is someone task with organizing and maintaining library collections, otherwise students and teachers might struggle with finding what they're looking for. They are also tasked with assisting teachers and students with finding the right read for the occasion, whether it be a textbook study or a fun adventure book to escape from reality with! That also ties into promoting and recommending literature, can't find a book that you fancy? Have you tried looking into this genre? 10/10 has great character development and story depth!

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
Well, I've been roleplaying since a very young age. When I was first introduced to the concept, I was a bit unsure, but I later grew to like it very much! It all depends on the people, I've learned. But yeah, I would say I'm fairly experienced in the roleplay department. 11 years is a lot of time.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
To put it simply, I'm bored of playing as just teenagers. I have been slowly leveling up all of my characters to become college students, adult-ifying them little by little. But currently I have zero adult roles, and I would like to change that.
Also, I actually jumped back and forth between wanting to be an Art Teacher and a Librarian when I was younger, so I think the roleplay would be pretty nice! It's like getting to live out one of my childhood dreams through my character! I think Elias would be a great fit for the job as well, he can reach ALL the high shelves heheh.

Situations
/*Do not mention use of FearRP*/

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?: He seemed relatively unbothered by their impulsive remarks, ah how he recalled his early years of being an emotionally unregulated teen. He smiles in an almost sympathetic manner before simply asking "Are you finished?" His tone was calm, showing no sign of offense or petty intent. Elias' question was sincere, as if he were asking them if they wanted to continue to let their anger out at him some more, if that's truly what they needed then he didn't mind being the beacon for it. "I'm all ears, go ahead." Elias adjusts his stance, crossing his arms as he readied to listen to whatever else they had to say. If it really got out of hand, he would just radio for assistance. But for now? He had this handled.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
Elias assessed the situation, looking around to make sure nobody else would be caught in the crossfire... before sticking his cane right between the two and prying them apart! "Now just what in the world do you two think you're doing!?" He says sternly, his age really beginning to show in that almost drill-sergeant tone of his- God he sounded like his father. But it disappeared just as quickly as it came, his tone lowering back to his usual gentleness as he looked the two over and let out a disappointed sigh. "Are either of you hurt..?" He asked first. He could probably grill them both like fish right now, but that's not who he is.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
He crossed his arms... eyeing them with that 'Are we doing this right now?' look you would expect from your Dad who walked in on you doing something stupid. He made it VERY clear he did not find this behavior acceptable just from his expression alone, no words needed.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Elias would remain quiet, likely have his nose in whatever book he currently had in his possession while sipping on a cup of coffee... Completely absorbed in whatever story his novel told. It would take a little bit to get his attention as he's not the type to likely start a conversation, however he would entertain a conversation in a friendly manner if approached first. Elias would place his bookmark and gently close his book, adjusting his posture to sit upright so that he may listen more attentively to whatever it is they had to say.

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:

/me
Carefully straightened the books resting along the nearest shelf, inspecting their spines before returning each one to its appropriate place. My, how old some of these books were... he recognized some from back when he attended all those years ago! Original covers and all, barely touched... such a shame. Having spent a considerable portion of his life surrounded by literature, he took a certain pride in ensuring the books remained well-kept so that students would feel more inclined to check them out!

/me
Peaked his head out from behind the neighboring bookshelf, greeting the student with a polite closed-eyed smile "Hello there." He says, as he bowed his head slightly. "Are you looking for anything in particular? Fantasy, science fiction, or perhaps a good adventure book?" He offers, waiting patiently for their response. The towering figure may have appeared intimidating at first, but his expression was warm and inviting!

/me Settled behind the librarian's desk, adjusting his posture as he tried to grow used to the seating... oh how his back ached. All those years of sitting hunched while escaping into whatever literature caught his fancy, it was all starting to finally catch up to the old man. He lets out a disgruntled groan after stretching his long arms, crackling and popping his knuckles and joints. Finally, he was settled in and ready to get to work sifting through returns and late returns which had yet to resurface. He couldn't help but wonder, if the kids weren't reading... why were books still missing? Were they using them to prop up uneven furniture- or worse! USING THE PAGES FOR ARTS AND CRAFTS!? Oh the horror! His poor books! The worry wort shakes his head, unable to bear the thought.

Backstory

Elias Falk-Tachibana was born in Sweden to a Swedish mother and an American father who was serving in the military. Due to his father's service, the family frequently relocated throughout his childhood. When Elias was fourteen, his parents were killed during their first year living in Japan… it was a devastating car accident which occurred shortly after Elias was dropped off for an overnight stay at a friend’s house. With there being no immediate family able to care for him, he was adopted by close friends of his parents, the Tachibana family; an older couple who had no children of their own. After some time he ended up changing his name to include Tachibana, as thanks to the older couple for taking him in.
Following his graduation from Karakura High, Elias enrolled in university with the intention of pursuing medicine and eventually specializing in psychiatry. He was determined to see his ambitions through, even when the workload became increasingly demanding- He couldn't take the pressure, Elias was drowning... he underestimated just how much he was taking on. Between his studies, financial responsibilities, and the pressures of maintaining a life outside university!? He gradually began neglecting his own well-being, going backwards instead of forwards... things weren't great. Elias stepped away from his medical studies, initially believing it would only be temporary but... Eventually, he came to accept that the profession he had once envisioned for himself was no longer the path he wished to follow. It was a difficult decision, particularly after investing so many years into something he had once considered his life's purpose. Here he was at 32 years old, rethinking his whole life.
That's when he met them. Not just any 'them' but... the one for him. Her name was Toka, and she was his whole world... Back then she was still known by 'Takeo', a quiet and shy girl who had been in the closet about her true identity for years. They met at a Library not far from Elias' old campus, where he soon learned she also attended at one point. The two grew quite close, bonding over their shared love for this old book series from their drastically different childhoods! Toka started showing the real parts of herself over the course of many interactions as the two grew closer, until the realization had hit. Elias was in love, hopelessly. He found himself visiting the Library more frequently just to have an excuse to see her, and well... turns out the feeling was mutual! They started seeing each other romantically, but on the down-low... Toka started leaning into her more feminine traits, as well as presenting as the woman she was always meant to be. He loved her before he knew and only continued to love her even more after the revelation, he knew that Toka was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
The two spent the course of 10 years happily together, Elias found work in the local area and the two made it work! They bought a house, adopted an old cat, they built a life worth living TOGETHER! While things weren't always sunshine and rainbows for the two, they had each other and that was all that mattered... Until one day, the word around Elias came crashing down when he received a call from home. While he had been away at work, Toka had collapsed and was later found by Elias' adoptive mother who stopped by to drop something off... She was rushed to the hospital, where it was discovered that she had been gravely ill for some time. She didn't want to tell Elias she was dying, she didn't want him to see her differently or drop everything to care for her... but her condition had only declined over time to the point where she couldn't hide it anymore. It broke his heart, seeing her in that hospital bed.
The two had very little time left together, he knew that. Elias, only 42 years old now, was about to lose everything all over again. But he wasn't ready to mourn her, he wanted to spend every last waking moment with her. So Elias got down on one knee and proposed. They had a small ceremony with close friends and family, celebrating their love for each other. Toka passed away less than a year after.
Elias was distraught, a heartbroken mess the size of a mountain. It was hard, he barely came out of it... Then there were the letters. One day he received a package in the mail which contained a multitude of hand-written letters, from his recently deceased wife. The day she found out she was dying, Toka began writing and storing letters. At first they were just thoughts she had in the beginning, memories that stuck with her throughout their time together. A retelling of their love story from her perspective of day one, detailing how she recalled the awkward lanky figure that had to duck under the doorway... how adorable his focused expression had been as he read through those psychology textbooks, and how she was too scared to approach him at first! That when he clumsily bumped into that bookshelf and caused several books to topple over on top of him, that gave her the perfect excuse to approach him? Was the best day of her life.
She didn't want Elias to suffer from her loss, to spend the rest of his time on earth regretting what couldn't be. Toka wanted him to remember what made him happy, and to keep chasing happiness even if she wasn't there to see it. The last thing she wanted was for him to be stuck in place, haunting like a ghost among the living.

It was through those letters that Elias found himself again, even if it took quite a bit of time... He missed her every day, nothing could change that. But it was a start. Elias eventually decided to go back to school, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and eventually Majored in Comparative Literature! And of course, some Minors in Creative Writing. He moved out of their empty house so full of past memories, and into a fresh apartment of his own. Now each day he returns home to his elderly cat, Mochi, and spends his days reading and sometimes dabbling in a bit of writing... which he posts anonymously!

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
Having once walked the halls of Karakura High as a student himself, returning to the institution after so many years feels rather sentimental. Much of his life has been shaped by the experiences he had growing up in Japan, and he would be lying if he said he hadn't considered what it might be like to return someday. Throughout his life, literature has remained a constant source of comfort, offering him an escape during difficult periods and introducing him to perspectives far beyond his own. He hopes to share that same appreciation with younger generations, encouraging students to explore their interests, discover new stories, and perhaps find a little comfort in the pages of a book themselves.

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:

I believe my experience, patience, and genuine appreciation for literature would make me a valuable addition to the faculty. Having spent much of my life surrounded by books, both academically and personally, I'd love the opportunity to share that passion with younger generations. I understand that every student has different interests and circumstances, and I'd strive to make the library a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions, exploring new interests, and learning at their own pace. I may not have all the answers, but I'm certainly willing to help students find them.
