What's your suggestion?:
I suggest adding a /major command specifically for the college students. I believe adding this will bring more use to the degrees and a different perspective regarding education on the college side.

A rundown on how it can go.

When typing in the command /major a list of colleges will be brought up. Here are some examples that can be included:

College of Agriculture & Human Ecology
Majors including in this area would be
- School of Agriculture
- School of Human Ecology
- Tech Farm

College of Arts & Sciences
Majors in this field would include:
- Biology
- History
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Earth Sciences
- Physics
- English
- Sociology & Political Science
- Foreign Languages

College of Business
Majors in this field would include:
- ****ytics
- Informational Technology
- Accounting
- International Business & Cultures
- Economics
- Marketing
- Finance
- Operations Management

College of Education & Human Sciences
Majors in this field would include:
- Counseling & Psychology
- Office of Teacher Education
- Curriculum & Instruction
- Child Development Laboratory
- Exercise Science

College of Engineering
Majors in this field would include:
- Chemical Engineering
- General & Basic Engineering
- Civil & Environmental
- Manufacturing & Engineering Technology
- Computer Science
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical & Computer Engineering

College of Fine Arts
Majors in this field would include:
- School of Art, Craft & Design
- School of Music
- Threatre

College of Interdisciplinary Studies
Majors in this field would include:
- Communication
- School of Environmental Studies
- School of Professional Studies
- School of Interdisciplinary Studies

School of Nursing
Majors in this field would include:
- Health Sciences & Pre-Professional Tracks
- School of Nursing

Of course not ALL of these have to be implemented these are just examples- SLT can make arrangements if this is approved to be added.

When you get into college students will be able to run the command /major and a list of each college will pop up. After picking which college you'd like to study under will define the areas of where you can major. For example, if I ran /major and chose College of Arts & Sciences another tab will show up with a list of what areas my character could focus on. If your character goes into college without knowing what they'd like to major in they can be undecided or be in the College of Interdisciplinary Studies until that student figures it out. A student can also change their major if they feel like they're not fit for that area for whatever reason- however, to make it more unique and more roleplay interactive we can involve the school counselors to handle this- kinda acting like college advisors in a way. College advisors help their students if they're struggling with grades, have questions about their degree progress, or have any concerns about their major. I believe putting this with the school counselors or even adding it as a separate role for the faction could be nice.

Overall, I think this would just bring an immersive experience for the students that attend the college and bring their degrees to much use with this. I do know students can just say "Hey I'm majoring in. . ." or some students don't have a set-in-stone major for their character they just see it as a degree and how far their character is in college.

This doesn't have to be required but again... it'd be a neat feature to add to the college.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
It'd bring a more immersive experience for the college students provide more roleplay opportunities for their characters and help bring in character development. This will also bring in a wonderful idea for the school counselors or even a separate faction role to fulfill the college advisor position. I believe it will also bring in another purpose for students to want to go to college and be able to get the experience of picking a major and going after their dreams- even though they already can I still believe implementing this will be a unique approach to the college.

So, Karakura College is called 'Karakura Community College', meaning it's not the same as a University. Community College is usually where you go to get the basics done before heading into a full-blown university to focus on your major. There are SO MANY Majors/Minors in the college system IRL and it wouldn't be fair to restrict college to have Majors like you are suggesting, plus if we are restricted to only certain classes for our majors, we wouldn't be able to go to A LOT of college classes that get hosted. meaning that people will restrict the majors they get into - to the professors that they like the most. Which isnt fair for the professors

You don't get degrees at community colleges - then again I don't think that the KCC follows all the rules of a community college.

I think it's perfectly fine to RP your character studying for a degree - it's just that with the way classes and the server are, it wouldn't work out. By this I'm specifically referring to a few things:

1. Most classes only have a few recurring students - usually around five to six, to be honest. These are all scattered around timezones and I just don't think timezones would align well with all this.
2. A lot of SchoolRPers aren't inherently interested in RPing out their character's educations - I could see this not being used.

I honestly think it's a cool idea, I just don't seeing it being the most plausible or used thing.
I to an extent disagree with Dark about this system restricting classes - since there are plenty of niche and specific degrees out there, but I do think their points are mainly true in the end.

Not to double post - but I wanted to add on a different note that I think the main idea of rewarding students who dedicate more time to specific classes and attend frequently is smart. I think rewarding them for sticking along and having their characters more involved in a specific subject would be cool - and while it wouldn't neccessarily be a Major, I think it'd be beneficial to work with that a little.

Thank you for your suggestion!

- We have already split our College Deans into different subjects/disciplines, however as these roles are player-ran, we can never guarantee a subject will be available.
