What is the student council and what do they do?:
Student council is a group within the school faction! Council members are in charge of keeping the school safe and orderly, assisting teachers in running detention, and planning events for the student body.
What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.):
Throughout my time on SchoolRP, I've had the opportunity to interact with a large number of people within both the sports faction as well as council! I had been thinking heavily about joining a school-based faction, and someone had pointed out that I might enjoy applying for student council, and after some research, I agreed. I’d love to participate and roleplay on the server in a more impactful way that allows me to interact with many different types of characters!
Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events):

Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?:
SLT: This includes the Dean, Principal, Vice-Principal, and the rest of the higher-ups! They are the highest-ranking faculty in charge at the school, so if things get out of hand, they’re the ones who get the call.
Faculty: Professors, Teachers, Caretakers, Librarians, Chefs, Counselors, Receptionists, and Tutors! Often working in tandem with the councillors to ensure situations run smoothly. Caretakers can check the cameras if needed, receptionists can send out a broadcast, and faculty and the student council work together to run detention.
President/Vice-President: These are the two people in charge of the council! They work together to lead, train new members, and host weekly meetings. The president is the main bridge between the rest of the council and SLT.
Council: This is the rest of the student council! Including the historian and the secretary, the team works to monitor detentions, plan out events together, and keep order around the school.
SCENARIOS
While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly?
The girl scrunched her face up, shaking her head, “Well that’s annoying!” Tilting her head, she collected her words. “The best course of action would be to start by quietly asking the student to stop causing a disruption. If they don’t listen to me, or choose to ignore me- which is quite rude by the way- I would ask the student to follow me and remove them from the assembly! If they’re continually disrupting it, the best thing to do would be to remove them from the situation.” The girl tilted her head down, glancing at the stack of flashcards she had been holding in her lap. A look of realization seemed to dawn on the girl’s face. “From there, we’d definitely have, like, a conversation about why they were causing a disruption, and I’d likely give them a detention.”
A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do?
“Oh! Well that’s inconvenient…” The girl thought for a moment, tapping her chin. “Well, there’s not much I think I can do here. I’d report it over the radio, informing higher-ups and teachers and such about the student. This would include information like the look of the mask, the build of the student, maybe hair color or outfit they’re wearing as well.”
A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns?
“Disturbing artwork..?” Concern flashed across the girl’s face. Glancing down towards her flashcards, she flipped through them, looking back up to answer, “Well, the first thing I wanna do is figure out what the artwork was. I would talk to the teacher about what was shown, and ask for examples if they have. Then we’d move on to the verbal threats, discussing what was said, and I would talk to students about their experiences with said student. I assume the teacher has already threatened detention on the student, so, depending on the severity of the artwork and the threats, I’d give the student detention and, if severe enough, report them to SLT.” Content with her answer, the girl smoothed out the cards, tapping them flat on her knee.
A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression?
Excitement crossed the girl’s face, her smile widening, “Well, first of all, they’re asking for permission, which is a GREAT sign! I think everyone should be allowed freedom of expression, so of course I’d say yes.” She’d pause, attempting to tone down her excitement, this is a serious interview here! “To prevent school disruption, I would recommend giving them a scheduled time, such as lunch or a specific period, and allow them to protest in a specific part of the school! Obviously not in the way of, like, pushing them out of the way or hiding them, just to make sure it’s all safe and not being unruly!”
A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this?
Drumming her fingers along the table, the girl took a breath, “I’d start by apologizing to the person informing me of this, and ask them if they can elaborate on what it was I did that was wrong. After receiving the information from them, I would go tell a higher-up about it, like the President or VP, just to figure out whether what I was doing was actually wrong or if the teacher or receptionist didn’t actually know.” She paused, concern flashing across her face. “Not that I’m saying a teacher wouldn’t know the things that go on with the role, I’m sure they know what they’re talking about. They just may have been mistaken in the moment!” She let out the breath she had been holding in.

Nodding, the girl steadied herself, preparing to speak.
“I propose the event of Career Day! This event will collaborate with all types of employment around Karakura. We’ll bring in representatives from different institutions and ask them to host panels or man booths to get students excited about their futures and learn about different opportunities that they have!”
“When it comes to planning, I would begin by reaching out to all the different institutions and asking if anyone from their teams would be willing to come in to talk with students! I know there are a lot of different jobs within each faction, so I would ask that multiple people who do different things come in order to diversify and broaden the horizon! My list of factions includes EMS, KPD, Reporter, Shrine, Crime?, Education, and Government.”
“We will treat the career fair like a convention! There will be a schedule outlining all the events. The events will be broken up into three categories, starting with lectures. Each of the different careers will have lectures in the auditorium or various classrooms outlining their jobs along with a short Q&A section afterwards. The workers will get to go in-depth about what they do and why they like their jobs, and also answer questions from students! The second category of the fair is the interactive programs. There will be different classrooms for workers to host sessions for students to experience what it’s like to do certain jobs. These can include CPR lessons from EMS, fake fighting or combat training from KPD, and learning how to write a good headline from the reporters! Finally, the third category is the fair itself! The different jobs will have booths set up around the courtyard. This will give students the opportunity to talk one-on-one with different employees and learn about jobs from panels they may have missed!”

The girl walked into the room, smoothing out her dress as she sat down. “Hi, my name is Anastasia Hope!” She quickly tapped a stack of index cards on her leg, smoothing out the edges and aligning them. “But some people call me Ana, or Annie, or any other nickname you could come up with… there are a lot of options!”

How would you describe your personality?:
“Well-” As she started speaking, the girl placed the stack of flashcards neatly on the desk in front of her, folding her hands over her legs. “I’m a very positive person, my friends would definitely agree! When solving a problem, my goal is always to try to achieve the best possible outcome. And I love to solve problems, a lot of people describe me as a problem solver! I’m usually the mediator when my friends get into arguments, and always try to make sure everything turns out positively!” As she spoke, the smile on her face grew, clearly aligning with the claim of positivity. Pausing, she looked around, taking in the room and collecting her thoughts. “Outside of school, I live with two of my best friends, Wendy and Edwin! They’re both on spartan sports teams right now, so it’s a very school spirit-y household! School spirit is sooo important to me, I love events, and I love going to tournaments, and I love love love supporting the school!” Her face shifted from pep to concern, shaking her head. “I don’t want to join a sports team though, I’d rather help host the events than participate in them!”

What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?:
A soft sigh escaped the girl's lips, her face shifting into a thoughtful expression as she echoed the question, “What separates me..? Hmm.” Looking for the words, Anastasia took a long pause. “I think something that separates me from other applicants is my compassion. I consider myself a very empathetic person, and with that comes a level of care that I believe is important within this position!” She paused, tilting her head to the side, a small smile spreading on her lips, “I think the eye color adds a level of separation too!”
Why do you want this position?:
Took a breath, eyes looking around the room. “I wanna help make a difference within the school! That sounds really, like, stereotypical, but it’s true. I think councilors play a very important role within the school ecosystem, and I’d love to be a part of it.” The girl shifted, raising her hands up to tuck her hair behind her ears. Then she shrugged, “I also think running detention sounds fun!”
What interests you the most about student council?:
The girl glanced down at her flashcards, slowly lifting one up to read the underside of it. Nodding, she placed it back down, looking back towards the interviewer with a smile. “I love the idea of hosting events for the community! I think that the events that have been hosted by the council, past and present, have been very interesting and I’d love to participate in that.”
What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?:
The girl shifted, crossing her legs as a smile widened on her face. “I’ve always grown up treating people in a very understanding way. I believe that interacting with someone positively has a major impact on how that person will act in return! When my friends, or even just strangers, are arguing, I’m always willing to step in to help clear the air. I believe that I will be able to harness this in a way that will boost the student body up and encourage everyone to act with kindness.”
