What are your current roles on the server?:
All of the roles I currently have in the server are grade twelve!
Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are crucial for maintaining the SchoolRP aesthetic, they are perhaps the most important role on the entire server because it is a school-based role-play! Without teachers, a school cannot function, which is true in real life as well.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes
In-Character Section
What's your character's full name?: Mero "Mellow" Mashumaro
What is your character's nationality?: Japanese.
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Art
Describe your character:
Mero is a male with strikingly feminine features, a sharp smile, and lovely glasses that he always wears. His outfits vary, but he typically embraces a very feminine style, fully accepting the characteristics he was born with, despite being male. Mero has a loud personality and only respects those who show him respect in return. His voice is incredibly squeaky due to his puberphonia. He was raised in a wonderful household by an amazing mother, as his father tragically passed away while working as a firefighter. Mero's mother is still alive, and they keep in touch often, although they live quite far from each other, which limits their visits to occasions like Christmas. Since birth, Mero has been incredibly drawn to art. He has always wondered how people create such unique works with just a few colors and a sheet of paper. He started drawing, often dedicating at least one hour a week to practice, though he never became fully engrossed in it—until he met an art teacher named Amelia. She opened his eyes to the creative possibilities and wonders that art can offer. Because of this, he deeply admires her and aspires to become an art teacher himself, hoping to share his appreciation for art with others just as she did for him.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
He respects anyone who shows him respect! Even if they are slightly annoying, as long as he feels respected, Mero likes them!
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
A wonderful art teacher inspired him to become an art teacher himself, showing the world that art can be truly beautiful when given a chance!
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
As long as he felt that the student was actively paying attention but still didn't fully understand the concept, he would whisper small clues to guide them in the right direction. He would also offer encouraging words to help pave their way towards understanding.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Unlike the other questions, this one is much easier to answer! Mero dislikes disrespect, as previously stated, and would give two to one active warnings before removing a student from class, depending on how disruptive the behavior truly was!
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
Interactive idea 1: The class would begin with a brief lecture on how emotions can affect our art style and colors, then Mero would offer the class some paint guns. He'd lay out a large white tarp outdoors and allow the children, as long as they promised not to shoot each other, to paint the tarp, using whatever color they felt was most reflective of their feelings at the moment!
Interactive Idea 2: This class would begin with Mero explaining to the class the origins of Japanese origami, telling them how it was created, what exactly it is, and how it's changed over the years. After confirming all the students understood, he'd hand out sheets of paper and told each of them to experiment and try to create different figures using origami.
Interactive Idea 3: Mero would start this class by telling the students about each type of clay, explaining which ones were better for creating works such as pottery and sculptures, he'd then allow all the students to come up and grab a block of their chosen clay and take it back to their desks to mold, he'd encourage them to make unique sculptures.
