Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
As the server revolves around the school, it's called SchoolRP for a reason. The faculty are the most important because it's mainly how new players learn to start roleplaying and the teachers especially are the ones who teach them, even if it's OOCly. For active players, in order to move up, you need to graduate or apply for factions. Attending classes are the easiest way to gain credits to graduate, especially since exams are incredibly rare. Classes, in my opinion, are also ways for people to interact with characters/people they normally wouldn't in casual roleplay. No teachers means no classes, no classes means less player interactions!
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes
What is your motivation for becoming a Teacher?: My motivation is pretty simple, I want to experience different ways to roleplay. It sometimes gets boring to be on one end of classes especially. And, it can be a little repetitive to have the same schedule for every single character. With the teacher role, it's my hope that it'll be a nice change of pace but still have involvement in fun activities! Not only would aging up my character be a benefit, it gives me more chances to play as him in general which is something I definitely need. The reason for choosing math in specific is because it's available, and because it's something I believe has a lot of leeway in terms of activities.

Describe your character:
The tall, almost ethereal man carries himself with quiet confidence. White, wavy hair falls past his shoulders, framing tired pale blue eyes that seem distant but calm. His features are soft and androgynous. Dark blue vine tattoos peek from under his blue clothing, along with the word “LOVE” on his left hands knuckles. He gives off a calming presence, with a scent of sea salt and vanilla lotion that lingers like a quiet ocean breeze. With the patience of a saint and a heart of gold, he feels as though most people deserve second chances in life. What makes him unique is his sheer dedication to whatever he may be currently doing, as well as his willingness to learn from past mistakes from himself and others. He always strives for above the bare minimum, even in the smallest scenarios.
What is your character's motivation for becoming a teacher?
Barry's had a rough start upon moving to Karakura with his sister, getting involved in gangs and cults, doing a lot of things he didn't want... So on and so forth. After leaving that life behind, he's become quite paranoid and protective of those around him. Acting brashly when faced with minor confrontations, and willing to use himself as a literal shield between his loved ones and those who endanger them. He wants to be someone people can rely on, maybe with a bit of a 'savior complex' included, while also trying to form a good life for himself and his sister. He wants to be a good person, he believes a normal job in a position where he can help will do just that.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Jean would rephrase the question/problem in a way the student could understand. If it's still difficult, he would provide a simpler way to solve the problem. While this is common practice for teachers, Jean exhibits great patience and doesn't mind at all if he has to repeat himself or rephrase a question or instructions multiple times.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
He would usually ignore small disruptions and keep teaching. If it persists, he would quietly walk over and stand near the student’s workspace to show it needs to stop. He would stay calm, avoid making it a big scene, and deal with it using a consistent action instead of directly calling out the behavior to avoid any embarrassment.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
1. Scavenger Hunt. Have students go on a sort of 'scavenger hunt' to ask other students around the school for random numbers, which the students in the class must form into an equation and solve themselves! They can choose to ask as many people as they wish as long as the numbers are included in the equation.
2. Tic-tac-toe! Students are put into pairs and share a book. Within the book are 9 equations within squares. The first in the pair to solve the equations with the correct answer (that follow the same x/o's three in a row rule) win! If they finish a game by themselves, they may create their own boards with equations, or they may even play tic-tac-toe regularly.
3. Bingo. Similar to tic-tac-toe but instead students are all given 16 or 25 randomly ordered numbers in a book that are the answers to math equations. During the class, Jean would list off math equations, and the students would have to answer the equations in order to get a bingo on their boards!
4. Percentages and fractions. Jean will instruct the students to stand on one or either side of the room by asking a question such as: "Go to one side if you think board games are better, go to the other if you think video games are better." After the room divides, he would ask the class the fraction or percentage of how many students in the total number of students prefer board games or video games. Ex. one side has 4 people out of 20 classmates, so the fraction would be 4/20, 2/10, 1/5, or the percentage would be 20%.
