Describe your activity and roleplay experience on the server: I am currently more active then I used to be, having just come back form a multi year break from SRP. I try to at least log on once a week, even if I'm busy, and when I have the chance, usually weekends or days that I finished school early, I log on to play for at least an hour.
In your own words, why do you think professors are important to SchoolRP? I think professors are important because they inspire and encourage students to to their best. They help develop the younger (in game) generations education, and makes srp feel more alive/realistic. I've always enjoyed the classes that professors host, and I know others do as well. They're an important part, just like the other staff that work at the academy in srp to make it feel more realistic!
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you may face demotion or removal from the faction? Of course, and I'll do my best for that not to happen.
Do you understand if your application is accepted, you may have to undergo professor training?: Yes! And I'm ready :)

Describe the character: How do they look and act? What makes them unique and different? What are their plans for the future? Optionally, what is their past? What is their outlook on students and their co-workers? Nyx is a tall woman, 6'10 with a messy wolf cut that falls over her shoulders in simple waves. Her hair is a mix of her natural colour, and dyed red patches/stripes. Nyx has dark eyes, almost black and pale tan skin, as she usually covers her skin and wears sunscreen if she goes out, preferring to stay at home. She's well built, exercising every day for at least an hour, even when sick. Her clothes are simple, slightly baggy clothes that she finds comfortable, not caring much for how she looks. Though she looks tall and intimidating, she's quite kind. Always helping without being asked, wanting to make sure everyone is happy, or at least content, no matter the circumstances. She's soft with children, and softer with animals, adoring cute, small things, but always being scared of hurting or scaring them because of her appearance. Nyx has much experience when it comes to being bullied and abused, having experienced both of them through out her life. She understands feeling of depression and anxiety. She's been through much, and it's shaped her deeply. Not wanting anyone else to feel how she did, alone and afraid.
Nyx grew up in France to a French mother and Arabic father, who was strict and abusive. Often yelling at her for minor things and going as far as hitting her. She was tall form a young age, and when she started growing even more because of precocious puberty, she began being bullied and excluded. Often being called a freak, a giant, or fat in negative ways. Some times being pushed around. It had gotten to the point where her mother had pulled Nyx out of school, not just because of the bulling, but also because of her growth pains. Moving away to Paris so that Nyx could start fresh. They where kinder, but most kids where scared of her, being taller than all of the boys, but a group of girls became her friends until she moved away form France and to Japan. Wanting to leave her abusive father. She doesn't have contact with her old friends anymore, but they do send cards to each other during birthdays and holidays. Nyx changed her name when she turned 19, two years before moving to japan. Taking her mothers surname and changing hers to 'Nyx'. Having a deep affection for the Greek goddess, and that it matches her nickname, 'Noir'. One that she got from her friends for her mean appearance and dark aesthetic.
During her time being bullied, Nyx developed bulimia, often throwing up after meals or doing harsh exercises, mostly running. She was depressed, and only got out of it when she began studying culinary arts in Norway when she became 16. Having learned that she could study at a high school level and move away from home for two years, gaining her mothers support, and telling her father that it was science, not culinary for him to accept. Her teachers had noticed that she was getting paler, and that she had low energy, asking their school nurse to talk to her. It took about ten minutes before Nyx broke and spilled everything to the nurse, whom helped her find the help she needed. Hooking her up with a doctor and a the******. Which made her life better, even though she's still affected by anxiety, it's now manageable. Nyx has studied nutrition, going trough two years of schooling, and two years of working with nutrition. Immediately moving to japan after she got her degree. Working at restaurants and hospitals from time to time, exploring the country before landing here in Karakura, now applying for a job as a professor.
What is their motivation for becoming a professor?: She wants to help students learn new things, about culinary and themselves. Not wanting them to fall down the same rabbit hole that she did. She also loves teaching people, an extension from wanting to help. Something she discovered when she tutored in her younger days. Always feeling proud when teaching someone something new. She just generally wants to help and teach :)
Roleplay Scenarios
A jock is ignoring your lesson and throwing paper balls at another student, what would your character do? This depends. If this is the first time, she'd take the jock out and talk with them, if that doesn't work, detention. If it's a repeated offence, then they're sent to the dean along with detention. She doesn't tolerate bullying in any form, but also wants them to learn from their mistakes. So, if it's the first time, she only talks with them, but if it happens again, detention with no mercy. They get one chance, and no more.
A student doesn’t seem to understand the material, yet hasn’t requested help, what would your character do? She'd notice pretty quickly, and when she does, she won't asked them outright. She'll take more time explaining, and simplify the material. If their still struggling, she will ask if they need help, always being there. She never wants a student to struggle and will spend after school time, sometimes going deep into the night just to make a plan that would work for them and the others. But she does hope that her students would always ask for help, as its better to ask one to many times then one to few. Something that she's lived by since she realised it was true.
When in the faculty lounge, how does your character act? Nyx would most likely read a book, but the second she notices that someone needs help, she'd be there in less then a second. Always offering help, even bringing in little home made snacks with ingredient labels, incase of allergies, and she'd write little notes, placing them around the lounge reminding people to think positively, to drink water, and to ask for help if needed. She'd be quiet, but always there if needed.

Culinary:
Class idea no.1 Think of a dish traditionally seen as unhealthy, ex pizza, and think of way to enhance nutrition without taking anything away, only changing ingredients out or adding. It's what you can add, not what you take away that makes a meal more nutritious. Students would be aloud to do research on their phones or computers, and would have to submit a written piece of work. If they don't finish it, it would have to be completed for homework. If unable too, they'd just be graded on what they submitted.
Class idea no.2 Extension of class idea no.1. Make the dish you chose in the kitchen! Don't be scared, this is more for fun then anything else.
Class idea no.3 Learning about allergens, the big nine, and the eu fourteen. A task about familiarising themselves with allergens, giving them more awareness.
Class idea no.4 Spending one lesson in the forest, fishing and/or finding wild vegetation, before going back to school. Taking their break, then meeting in the kitchen and making a creative dish with what they found
Field trip idea. Going into the forest, camping and finding ingredients to make our meals, similar to class idea no.4, but with more time, and some wilderness survival!
Science:
Class idea no.1 What are the things the human body need to survive? True or false, listing the 6 things humans need, and some other random things, testing their basic knowlage, an ice breaker lesson.
Class idea no.2 How does iodide react to starch? Put an iodide mix onto a potato or water with potato starch and see! Teaching about how you're body breaks down starch. Spit onto it and see how the colour changes!
Class idea no.3 What is this nutrition? Chose one of the given vitamins, minerals, or amino acids and form pairs to make a poster about it. List foods, sources, uses in the body, and what can happen if you don't have enough of them
Field trip idea. Go to the hospital and see what they serve their overnight patients. Ask the head nutritionist questions about the topic at hand.
