- Club Leader is considered an intermediate role, whilst we encourage players of all sorts to apply, please note that the tasks of a club leader can be intensive at times when it comes to meeting event's and club member management.
- When it comes to inactivity, it must be logged or you could face reprimand or possible termination in extreme cases, you are responsible for your own activity, your club's activity and your club's retention.
- Clubs must be student appropriate and easy to understand with a specific theme, this is to maximise student interest and remain realistic.

“Haven’t you heard? It's rude to ask a woman their age ! Well, I guess I'll tell you… I’m at my prime age of 18! 12th. Grade. Duh.”
What is your motivation to lead a club within the school? (250+ words)
“Honestly? I want to bring people together through a shared passion! I know that might sound like a typical response, but I genuinely mean it. People can bond through sports, activities, or simply spending time together, but I don’t think people truly get to know one another until they exchange ideas and understand how each other thinks. People don’t fully understand one another without communication, disagreement, and meaningful discussion.
My main motivation for running a club within the school is to help students connect on a deeper and more sincere level. Of course, people already have meaningful conversations and experiences with their friends. But, there are not many opportunities for students to argue different sides of a topic, discuss hot takes, or work together to defend something they believe in. A debate club would create a space where students could express themselves, challenge one another’s ideas, and learn how to fight with each other respectfully.
My interest in debate actually began before I came to Karakura. My brother would probably say that I constantly started arguments I had absolutely no chance of winning. Apparently, I was always determined to prove that I was right. We could be arguing over the dumbest possible topic, and even when it was obvious that I was wrong, I would refuse to admit it. Instead, I would continue giving ridiculous reason after ridiculous reason to defend my side. Honestly, though, I still think I was right most of the time. ANYWAY…
As I grew older, I realized that debating is not only about winning an argument or proving someone wrong. It is also about listening, thinking quickly, communicating clearly, and understanding perspectives that may be completely different from your own. Debate can help people become more confident speakers while also teaching them how to support their opinions with logic and evidence.
I want the Debate Club to be an enjoyable and welcoming place where students can challenge themselves, strengthen their communication skills, and form genuine connections. Even if two people completely disagree, they can still leave the discussion understanding and respecting each other more than they did before. That is the type of community I hope to create with this club idea! YAY!”

"Personally, I don't like this question. But I've definitely come across it before. I believe, as the kind hearted person I am, everyone deserves a chance. Especially if it's something they’re passionate and persistent in. Though, why I think I have a greater advantage of succeeding, I can answer this. I've always had a way with words, communication and argument. My past experiences, though not exactly formal, have really shaped how I use my words, tone, and people skills for the better. I have an actual determination on helping people see the world differently through debates. Helping people see who others are, as well as even themselves.”

The Debate Club will be a safe, welcoming space where students can express their opinions with zero judgement. Members with different perspectives and ideas will work together or compete against one another in debates covering a variety of topics. The club will hold one or two debates each month. During the remaining meetings, members will research different pieces of evidence, prepare speeches, practice presenting their arguments, and strengthen their communication, teamwork, critical-thinking, and public-speaking skills.

Anyone can join, as long as they have a passion for debate, a willingness to learn, and will go to at least 1 minimum club meeting a month. Also, people who are willing to detail rp or learn to detail rp!
Provide one school-wide event that your club may host
The Karakura Debate
The Debate Club will host a public debate inside the school auditorium, (or any large area available) allowing students to participate as either speakers or audience members. Before the event, an interesting and school-appropriate topic will be announced so participants have time to prepare their arguments. Students who wish to debate will be separated into two small teams: one supporting the statement and one opposing it.
A Debate Club member will act as the moderator, introduce both sides, explain the rules, and control the speaking order. Each team will present an opening statement, respond to the opposing side’s arguments, and give a final statement. Audience members will also have an opportunity to ask appropriate questions before voting for the team they found most convincing. Club members will help organize seating, guide participants, and ensure the discussion remains respectful. This event, if possible, would help people roleplay with each other while giving students an opportunity to express their characters’ opinions.
Provide one flash event that your club may host
Pick a side
Debate Club members will gather in a populated area of the school and announce a simple, interesting topic in character. Examples could include whether school uniforms should be required, whether homework should be removed, or whether students should have longer lunch breaks, etc. One side of the area will represent “agree,” while the opposite side will represent “disagree.”
People will be invited to stand on the side matching their character’s opinion. Once everyone has chosen, Debate Club members will ask some participants from each side to explain their reasoning. Students may respond to the opposing side, ask questions, or even switch sides if another participant changes their mind. A club member will moderate the discussion. Because it requires little preparation and can take place almost anywhere, this would be a simple and realistic flash event that encourages spontaneous interaction!

Defend the opposite
During a club meeting, members will be separated into two teams and given a random debate topic. Each team will be assigned a side to defend, even if it does not match the members’ personal opinions. For example, members might have to argue that homework should be increased, phones should be prohibited at school, or whatever is come up with.
The teams will receive preparation time to discuss their main points, decide their speaking order, and predict what arguments the opposing side may use. When preparation is finished, the club leader will moderate a short debate containing opening statements, responses, questions, and closing statements. Members who are not currently speaking can act as judges, take notes, or provide feedback afterward. The activity will help members practice improvisation, teamwork, detailed roleplay, and respectful disagreement while teaching them how to understand perspectives different from their own.
