Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:

Teachers are the frontlines of SRP. The classes that teachers host will often be some of the first memorable experiences for new players. It's important that these teachers can provide a good first experience for these players so that they feel welcomed to the server and free to engage in roleplay. Without teachers, players when first joining may feel lost or overwhelmed by everything that SRP has to offer. Our teachers can provide that guiding hand to welcome these players and make everything more enjoyable and streamline - basically making everything simpler and easier to process.

In roleplay scenarios, teachers also play a crucial role in progressing through college, if one so chooses to do so. They inform students of opportunities past school, such as joining any of the other factions that Karakura hosts or even just growing to adulthood through college progression. In all, teachers should provide safe places, and a welcome face to anyone that is willing to learn.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?:

What's your character's full name?:
Naia M. Koradicus

What is your character's nationality?:
European

What is your preferred subject to teach?:
History

Describe your character:

Naia would be a short girl, a rare occasion for her to be taller than any other individual of her age. However, her demeanor stood very tall. She was an orderly woman, somewhat strict. but nonetheless, she attempted to keep a positive mood. Unless provoked, she would usually be calm, besides certain occasions. Even when she is provoked however, she keeps the calm tone, possibly a bit passive aggressive as she remains cheerful while reprimanding a student.

Her eyes were a heavily flavored hazel, perhaps a bit darker than that. The small beads were plastered against a slightly tanned face. The woman dawned a honeyed complexion, looking more on the younger side, 29 years of age running through her. A warm smile would take form at her lips for the most part, although at times she would be seen more shallowed and weaker, like a lingering sadness had a firm grip at her throat. She walked with stride, purpose with every step taken. Purple streams of hair would cascade down, resting just at her shoulders and framing her face.

Naia has always strived for perfection, accepting no less than great. She was born in Europe, London, to be exact. Her family was dysfunctional. Her father was usually never at home, an alcoholic. The only important thing that man gave was Naia's decision to swear off any sort of substance. Her mother, on the other hand, was great towards Naia. She blotted out the darkness from her father and it allowed the girl a second chance.

What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:

Naia treats everyone she comes across with respect. She holds no bias towards students or co-workers, and treats everyone fairly, no matter who they are. She believes that each and every student has great potential to become something more, and that she's obligated to teach the next generation of Karakura how to do exactly that. Naia is not one to cling onto a grudge. A student can always redeem themselves, and that it is the school's duty to provide that second chance. She is always sympathetic towards the students; they are kids, and they don't fully understand themselves. She is always welcome to lend an ear to someone in need, whether that be a student, or a co-worker.

She believes that her co-workers, and herself for that matter, all have something to gain or improve on by talking and working with each other. Her co-workers are resources as well. Normally, she tries to remain strictly professional with her co-workers, but is willing to engage in friendly conversation with them.

What is your character's motivation for teaching?:

Roleplay Scenarios

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:

Naia, first, would inform all students that they are free, and encouraged to speak up if they are struggling. This is to ensure that she actually knows when they don't understand things.

If a student was struggling, Naia would ask them to try and pinpoint what they're struggling on exactly, and then in the most concise way explain the topic to the student in more depth. If they still don't understand after that, she would throw up a quick example of the subject on the board to show a visual of it. Again, if they don't understand after that, Naia will continue teaching as to not disrupt the class, and if there is ever a free point where she has time to talk to the student, she will go to them and try to have more of a one-on with them. If she doesn't have time for that, then she will simply ask the student if they could stay back after class so that she could give an even more focused demonstration or provide the opportunity of tutoring.

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:

Naia would simply ask the student to quiet down and listen to the lesson, they can talk later during a break or after school. If the student continues to be disruptive, she would once again ask them to be quiet and that if they continue to interrupt the class, she'll have to give the student detention. She will also inform them that they do not have to be in the class if they act like this. If this continues once more, Naia will issue a detention to the student, telling them that if it continues she will let SLT handle it.
