I typically can provide several hours daily onto the server and my position. Actively have no other roles on the server to split focus, so all my free time can be spent in the faction. Currently as of right now, job searching. So while my schedule might change in the future (Which I will update the application when it happens) it is currently very flexible and able to get 4-5 hours a day.
What is your motivation for applying?:
Having previously participated in the unique and enjoyable aspects of roleplay that the faction brings, I believe it would be a fun way to expand my roleplay capabilities and better myself, not only as a writer and roleplayer, but also as a person. The idea of the police has always interested me, but after being a part of it, I personally want to relive that experience and create new ones. Genuinely one of the most fun variations of roleplay I have encountered on the server. Additionally, I think joining the department would be of utmost benefit for my character's development and take his character storyline to the next level.
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
I was once previously part of the KPD, and during my time on the server and furthering that during my tenure as a member of the faction learned the general function, and more in-depth knowledge and understanding of the KPD. Providing new faction lead, and changes made across the server, I understand there is much more to learn and experience however.
Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
I believe the Police Department is important to the server to maintain order. It provides an essential form of enforcement across the server, providing protection and establishing order throughout Karakura. Without the Police Department, there would be nobody to uphold the laws of Karakura, allowing criminals to do as they please. The addition of the Police would minimize this, allowing regular civilians protection from criminal activity and keeping the negative effects of Criminal Roleplay away from them.
However, it also affects Criminal Roleplay itself in a positive manner. Having free rein to commit crime without worry of repercussions from law enforcement would cause Criminal Roleplay to become much drier and less exciting. The presence of the Police creates a level of adrenaline and caution for players to utilize while engaging in criminal roleplay, which makes that variation of roleplay more exciting. Additionally, it creates Police vs. Gang experiences, allowing for interesting character development and cool story arcs to play out, allowing all parties to have enjoyable experiences.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?

Commissioner: - The commissioner is the head of the Karakura Police Department; he’s in charge of the entire police force. And in charge of the finances of the department. The Commissioner does not formally belong in any division. |

Cadet: The Cadet is the entry level to the job. When joining the Karakura Police Department, you are assumed the role of Cadet until you have completed your tests. As a Cadet, you undergo training sessions both in physical training and in the classroom, doing Informative training. Cadets are required to train; at the end of week 1, you may take an evaluation test, which tells you if you are ready to take the exam. If not, you wait till the typical end of the second week. If you pass them, however, you get to take the exams and potentially rank up a week early. Cadets are also restricted to staying inside the KPD unless a supervisor is present with them. |
POLICE DUTIES |
As a member of the Police Force, you are in charge of various unique jobs;
Taking Reports: Members of the community will frequently have reports for the police to investigate. Usually a job lower-ranking officers will take care of; however, it’s a job any officer can do.
Patrols: During busy hours, especially when backup is present, officers should go out and patrol the streets. The more the police presence is on the streets, the less likely dangerous nefarious activities will take place.
Answer 110 Calls: Whenever emergency calls come in, officers need to be ready to answer the calls. It’s ideal and encouraged to ensure you have backup with you when responding to calls. You never know what type of trouble you may walk into.
Court hearings: Often the Police Department doesn’t just protect the city; it’s also responsible for protecting the officials as well. Police are heavily encouraged to show up to court dates for security purposes, and even for arresting officers, to testify to ensure the criminals are convicted.
Raiding Properties: Typically a job for higher-up members, but often enough even lower ranks can get involved as backup to a raid. When a warrant is provided, or a situation is dangerous enough, with reasonable suspicion that someone is in trouble, police officers are able to raid properties. In a professional setting, Hidekazu is known to be more reserved. Systematically thinking over the situation and establishes a plan before reacting. Carefully avoiding hasty decisions that prevent disaster down the road. This methodology was something instilled into him from birth, as a member of the Takagi household. Then continuously nurtured through his time as a council president. Keeps himself calm and collected; his talking has limits, maintaining a relaxed tone. Always maintaining an upright posture, utilizing the utmost respect for his peers and especially, but not restricted to, his superiors. Showing considerable amounts of humility and kindness to everyone. | Considering a casual scenario, Hidekazu still maintains that same level of respect and composure. What differs from formal settings, however, is the energy he gives. In a professional setting, he's typically quieter and more reserved. But when he has the ability to relax more, Hidekazu might connect and converse more. In moments when he is calm, you may notice the playful side of him. What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Raised in a family-oriented setting, it's only natural for Hidekazu to build relationships with individuals. He builds relationships with friends and family rather quickly, always giving everyone ample respect and even going above himself to better everyone around him. It's no different whenever he joins a team. He allows that relationship to become a deeper family aspect of him, where he always looks to do the most and protect them. | While Hidekazu respects his co-workers, he does particularly well working alongside them. A big part of Hidekazu's life has been his athletics; coming from a team-oriented sport, he had to develop the skill of working in a team structure. Actively taking the mantle, ensuring every action his teammates take, being prepared to be behind them, and working especially well with his teammates in raising their ability as well. This wasn't just an athletics thing; however, he also used that quality in the student council as well. In the council, he had to work with faculty, council members, and the student body. Consistently ensuring the school was running smoothly while working alongside his fellow councillors in creating fun events. Both of those experiences challenged his ability to work alongside others, while allowing him to improve as a person and as a leader. |
What's your character's backstory?
The Takagi name had been carried through Karakura for generations, once among the most influential families in the region. The Takagi lineage had risen to prominence through its intellect, education, and research. During the Itsbyoshi court, the Takagi family built and archived the education we know today. The history and artifacts we find today, the Takagi family, have been preserved for centuries. And continue to uncover sealed-away mysteries and scrolls saved by the Takagi family.
Though the age of the family's rule long passed, the expectations attached to being a member of the Takagi family remained. It was no different for Hidekazu, as he was born with more pressure to succeed than your average person. His expectations started before he was old enough to understand why he had such expectations. And for better or for worse, this impacted Hidekazu’s life.
Hidekazu was born within the Takagi Manor, the first child of a Takagi father and a Russian mother. A very different situation inside the Takagi family, never seen before with a mixed racial marriage. His parents may come from different backgrounds, but they shared mutual love for knowledge. Hidekazu's father was born a Takagi and the son of Hashirma Takagi. Given the highly intelligent role model, Hidekazu's father would inherit his life’s work. Researching heavily in history, looking to uncover hidden information and publish his findings.
Things were quite different for Hidekazu's mother. She enjoyed learning, but she wasn’t exactly the discovery type. She worked in the school as a cook, an honest, hard-working job, but a particularly different world. Her interest in knowledge allowed her to connect with him to a deeper level, and her care for children sparked a romance. This allowed a relationship to blossom, where eventually Hidekazu would be born.
His father had spent years studying the history of the Takagi family and was particularly fascinated by Lady Tsugumi Takagi and the events surrounding her reign. Among the figures who interested him most was the historical Hidekazu Takagi, the son of Tsugumi and Hachiro who was eventually named heir and became Lord of Karakura. Because of that history, his father’s choice of name was never accidental. He would name his firstborn Hidekazu. It was a name associated with excellence and superiority, but more importantly to his father, it was the name of a Takagi who had once carried immense responsibility. He hoped that his firstborn would grow into someone worthy of the name.
Even at a young age, his father believed Hidekazu had the responsibility to uphold the family legacy. This made it particularly hard for Hidekazu growing up; no matter what, he couldn’t live up to expectations. It often created fear, unconfidence, and struggle to find his own personality.
His parents had disagreements on how to raise Hidekazu; eventually, it led to deterioration of the relationship. They couldn’t come to an agreement from that; the marriage didn’t last. The separation was a matter for the courts to discuss. And given the resources of the Takagi Family, his father won custody of Hidekazu, and it created a rough division in his life.
In one household was the Takagi family, who helped Hidekazu become very sharp and intelligent, but also did so while creating pressure. At his mom's place, he had freedom, but no structure or guidance to do so. Two very loving households with different styles, to balance out Hidekazu. The differences in households shaped him more than either parent realized at the time; one household taught him discipline and hard work. The other taught him independence and critical thinking.
The difference in households was also large in his cultural background as well. His mother, who was primarily Russian, despite living a large portion of her life in Japan, was naturally Russian. While the Takagi family is historically a Japanese household. Allows him to understand multiple different cultures and develop the skill to be bilingual.
As Hidekazu got into High School and started making friends of his own, he would go through a little stage of rebellion. With his friends, he’d actively try to escape his responsibilities and do stupid teenage stuff. Getting into small altercations, drink alcohol, partying with rather bad, influential people. A stage where his life was on a negative slope.
This didn’t make Hidekazu a criminal, just a teenager making dumb mistakes. His family would particularly not be happy about it. However, it was merely a phase in life, so he eventually grew out of it. As he started entering the later years of his high school years, Hidekazu would fall in love for the first time, and this happened multiple times at his young age. But overall, it settled him down, though, as he wanted to be better for someone.
A little before that happened, though, Hidekazu and his friends created a club team they called the Royal Ravens. It’s a particularly volleyball group of kids playing at a high level. This would be Hidekazu’s true passion. He developed immense love and respect for the game of volleyball that he carries with him to this day.
He progressively got better and better at the sport, and he took the responsibilities of being captain of the team and one of the club leaders. This was a huge learning opportunity for him, opening up the room to grow as a person and as a leader. He could no longer be the rebellious kid he once was. Now he was the leader of a group. He now had to organize practices, gather club uniforms, and maintain positive relationships with his team and the rest of the school. He had his first taste of leadership.
He rode the success of his captaincy as he entered college. Joining college, Hidekazu had the motivation to expand his leadership capabilities and live up to his name, so he applied and got a seat in the college Student Council! Making strides as a councilor proved to be the right kind of rewarding for him.
Hidekazu was no longer immature; he had a new outlook on life. Meanwhile, he also had a sports career that was really taking off. In a trajectory he thought he could see himself becoming a professional, but that would come to an end whenever he overworked his body, which caused him to tear his ACL.
With his sports career coming to a sudden end, he focused on his schooling and position on the council. It was already hard to balance anyway to that point. He did eventually become President of the council, which proved to further extend his leadership. Allowing himself the ability to create events, to teach people how to be a councillor, while also helping people in school. He would always be able to lend an ear, or even exercise his authority to protect the rules.
Unsure what he wanted to do with his life, he finished a master's degree in criminology. He chose, specifically unsure what he wanted to do, but he knew he wanted to help people. He wanted to understand criminals. So he finished a master's in criminology. And finished a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. While also completing, early in his studies, a minor in sociology. He felt that this gave him the best way to understand people and to be able to help them.
After graduating from college, he didn’t always put his degree to the best use. He opened up an organization around Karakura, bringing back the name Royal Ravens, to help young kids be able to make the high school team, and even start. It was like a camp; he could teach and provide team culture and individual practice and coaching. This brought him much satisfaction as volleyball was always his true passion.
But afterwards, he took his business to a town called Sendai, located in the northeastern coastal part of Japan. He would reside there for a period of time. Before figuring out he was wasting his degree, and felt he had too much leadership ability to waste it coaching sports. So Hidekazu set his destination to moving back to Karakura. If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
Initially, I wouldn’t expect to see such abuse of power come from a sworn officer of Karakura. I would appear very shocked, as I would first request a higher-up present to help break up the situation. Secondly, I would ensure the evidence of this fight is shown, double-checking the body cam attached to my chest. Third, I would make non-physical contact with the clearly frustrated officer and try to calm the officer down, and break up the fight. When swearing an oath to uphold the laws and the constitution, you also swear to protect the rights and the safety of all citizens, whether they’re incarcerated or not. When a higher-up appeared, I’d brief the situation as I await further instructions, and even potentially assist in breaking up the fight.
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
It’s important when on the field to remain vigilant to avoid making hasty decisions. The first thing I would do is call for backup. Waiting for reinforcement, I would assess the situation properly, feeling out the surroundings before reacting. If there was a rather larger number of individuals in the area, or properly armed individuals, it would be a better idea to wait for help. It’s important for Hidekazu that his co-workers are safe, and he stands with that type of integrity, but he’s no use to his co-workers if he is also in trouble. As backup arrives, Hidekazu would work well with his team, engage with the criminals, looking to make an arrest, and prioritize the safety of his downed officer.
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
In the event a co-worker actively aided and abetted a criminal organization, it would form a breach in his relationship with Hidekazu. Above all, Hidekazu has an immense amount of respect for his co-workers, so such a breach would affect him rather deeply. However, it’s important not to make rash decisions and potentially make the matter worse. For example, in KPD, it would be likely to have someone infiltrate criminal organizations to bring them down. So you cannot actively go pointing fingers and ruining that mission. Or allow the “corrupt” officer to hide his involvement, leaving little evidence to make any decisions. So Hidekazu would ensure his body cam is active, gathering any sort of evidence he can, before formally bringing it up with the commissioner.
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
Considering bribery is illegal, I wouldn’t have any part in it. Politely turning down the offer, not looking to cause a big deal out of it, I’d lead with a friendly personal warning first. If they pressed the issue, or continued, I would have to write them a fine for attempted bribery.
