Describe your activity on the server:
I’ve been a part of the SRP community since July 2022. While I had to take a bit of a step back in 2023 to focus on finishing my university degree, I’m now back in full force. I work a work-from-home job which means more flexibility with my schedule. My consistent schedule is every day from 9 PM to 12 AM, sometimes logging on during the afternoon when work isn't so busy. On weekends, I’m around even more provided I’m not out with family business or running errands.

What is your timezone?:

List your current roles on the server:
All my characters are currently grade 12. I am not presently involved in any factions, clubs, or sports teams.
What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I’ve been roleplaying across various platforms for about ten years now, so I’ve definitely seen and experienced a bit of everything. Outside of Minecraft, I’ve written plenty of fan fiction and original short stories with my characters. Within SRP specifically, I’ve experienced quite a bit as well. I spent a few months on the High School Swim Team in 2022, which really sharpened my detailRP skills since we had to type out complex swimming actions whenever our team met IC. I also tried meddling in GangRP, but I realized pretty quickly that my characters are usually too much of a do-gooder for the criminal underworld! But I decided to give it another go recently and now, I am currently part of Pink Panther, which is a delinquent group (a more detail-oriented P2L type of gang) which is much more suited to my style. Otherwise, a lof of my time is spent in standard school roleplay, focusing on making new friends and social dynamics and all that. I especially enjoy planning and acting out events or situations that deepen the development and lore of my characters.
What is your motivation for applying?
After years of being just a student, I want to experience the more mature roleplaying side of SRP. I’ve pretty much done what I wanted to do as a student and I want to branch out into trying out new factions like the ones for the hospital. I’ve watched friends thrive in all sorts of factions and I think it’s finally time for me to step up into applying for factions as well. I want to bring my own character to the hospital to help apply my roleplaying experience in SRP and outside to everyone who passes through those doors for treatment. It will also be a great learning experience for me to learn how to act in character as a proper working adult when all I have been RPing as were students, which I can then use in other factions in the future!
Which role are you applying for?
Doctor
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
From my time on the server, I understand that the hospital is a very important service to the citizens of Karakura in both providing treatment to IC injuries and sicknesses as well as being a catalyst to opening new lore for characters as well (through events like diagnoses or injury). I know that doctors are those who respond to physical trauma, giving people checkups for sicknesses, performing surgeries, and prescribing medicine to patients. On the other hand, there are the psychiatrists who handle the mental health aspect, dealing with the psychological illnesses of the citizens. There is also the Hospital Director that leads the whole operation and the Paramedics who are first responders to emergency calls when they happen.
I’m also well aware that the doctor role, and all other roles in the hospital faction requires a lot of detailRP to properly explain the medical procedures that my character will be doing, and that being a doctor means being a reliable, amiable, but also serious character that people can rely on when they need aid.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I acknowledge and accept.

Character Backstory:
Serina was born in Sumida City, Tokyo where she grew up in a household that valued discipline and emotiional restraint. Unlike the ragtags or the sweaty jocks or the cool kid preps in her school days, Serina was always the quiet but steady one. She was the girl who didn’t fail a single class, who never needed to be told twice, who never showed off material things. Her family had raised her to be compassionate rather than boastful, thus she learned early on that actions mattered way more than words.
Even from a young age, Serina was very much inclined in caretaking roles, stemming from her experience being around her mother who was a nurse herself. She was the type of student who would collect and carry all sorts of bandages, who helped the injured classmate to the nurse’s office, who would remember allergy season so she could prepare medicine for both herself and everyone. She even did volunteer work for her school where she was a permanent member of the medic team. But she did not boast about being the pseudo-nurse everyone looked up to; she just wanted to see everyone healthy and well. This is what drove her desire to enter medicine once she graduated high school.
There are some doctors who do it for the riches or for the prestige or for the Tiktok aura teaching people how to DIY gold-plated veneers. But Serina’s motivation came from witnessing how pitiful and vulnerable people become when they’re sick. Additionally, she didn’t like how embarrassment or fear could stop someone from seeking treatment. She had seen a lot of this during her school days; she had a friend who would not go to the bathroom at school anymore because people made fun of her for how many times she went; she then developed a kidney infection because of it. That experience made her want to become the kind of doctor that made patients feel safe enough to open up no matter how shameful their habits or symptoms were.
Serina believes that in the medical field, calm and care is everything. Soft hands, steady heart.
SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
Because of what happened to her friend, Serina specializes in urology.
Urological ailments are surrounded by stigma and silence. So, so many patients delay treatment because they feel embarrassed discussing symptoms related to their urinary or reproductive system. Serina recognized that with her friend. She quickly understood that the emotional sensitivity associated with urological issues is just as imporant an issue is to address, not just knowing how to treat them. Just like any other medical field, the field of urology deserves to be treated with respect and not a laughing matter (since urology also covers both male and female reproductive organs), and so she shows that through her careful and understanding expressions while listening to her patients.
Being meticulous by nature, she also found urology to be a perfect fit for her technical-wise. Where exactly to cut into the kidney to remove a kidney stone based only from ultrasound is not easy for anyone to do, but with a careful ****ysis of the data she's given, she is able to pull it off. Diagnosing the exact ailment of someone based on a vague description of their symptoms also requires training, experience, and attention to detail, which is an inherent characteristic Serina possesses.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Yes, Serina completed her rotation within the University of Tokyo’s hospital with high-scoring evaluations during her pre-med and general med programs before committing fully to urology as her PhD. She has assisted in performing surgical procedures, managed post-operation care both as a nurse and doctor, and personally handled consultations with patients involving urinary problems such as UTIs and kidney infections.
She has also finished a stint in hospital triage during her training where she learned to perform under pressure. Despite her calm and steady personality, the emotional heaviness that this department of the hospital entailed rocked her core, and she has admitted to having cried more than once while working there.
SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Lookswise, Serina is an average height gal standing at 156 cm. She dons light pink hair and often carries a messenger bag with her containing, in one half, her personal belongings and in the other, her medical supplies. Serina keeps her appearance clean though simple with minimal accessories. Her hospital outfit consists of a white long-sleeve polo shirt with pink accents, white pants, and black shoes, changing into typical green surgical scrubs when she heads into the operating room. Outside of the hospital, she likes to wear cute, frilly dresses despite her age with the occasional button up wooly sweater, pleated skirt, and leg warmers when the weather gets more chilly.
Personalitywise, Serina is very gentle. She never acts imposing and is always ready to lend an ear to anyone who might need her help, maintaining eye contact whenever she listens, giving them full attention no matter what. To some she may even seem shy or soft-spoken, further amplified by her rather quiet voice. Additionally, outside of the hospital, she doesn’t speak often around her friends unless she has a story to tell or if she has to speak up about something she disagrees with. But within the hospital, she is very emotionally perceptive and empathetic, often noticing fear or distress through the body language of her patients before it is spoken about.
How does your character act around the hospital?
Inside the hospital, Serina’s key to success is efficiency. She organizes her notes and writes down her patients’ prescriptions carefully, double-checking every document that passes by her before storing them in her clipboard, and keeps the talk in the office to a bare minimum. She does all of this with strict attention to detail. Most importantly, she doesn’t rush conversations with her patients even when there is a queue outside. Every patient deserves equal opportunity to be heard, diagnosed, and treated no matter how severe.
When a patient is in an emergency situation or if they’re wheeled off to be operated on, the tone of her voice shifts from her typical soft voice to a more stern one. During energency cases or surgery, she dictates instructions to her assistants and nurses with clarity and concisesness. She never raises her voice when she or her team makes a mistake as doing so will only cause both morale and the patient to possibly die alongside her reputation. Because of this, nurses find her easy to work with because she both communicates with care and respect and also acknowledges their strengths and weaknesses, adapting to them.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Even the best of doctors or surgeons do not have eight arms, unless you’re Dr. Squidward Tenta-cures (sorry). Thus, Serina functions best with a team. A patient has the highest chance of successful recovery when the responsibilities are shared between a team no matter how small. Like mentioned above, she knows how to properly communicate with her team of assistants and nurses when an emergency situation arises, and has the capability to assign to each team member the duty they have to perform during the procedure based on their strengths.
However, when the time calls for it, she can work independently. She also has her own doctor’s office where she primarily speaks to patients alone, as more eyes is not good for a patient's insecurity when talking about already sensitive topics. She is accustomed to working alone; she was basically a lone wolf back in her high school days after all.
As long as Serina sees her patient recover, she is happy.
