Describe your activity on SchoolRP:
I recently came back to SchoolRP in February after a long hiatus. I find myself playing on the server a minimum 2 hours a day. I spend a lot of my free time on SchoolRP. I currently am on Female Bobcat Volleyball on my main account and have been a professor in the past. I however do currently attend University outside of roleplay which may affect my activity a bit, not to the point of never being online however!
(Times I am able to generally get on, all in EST timing.)

Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:
I grew up playing on Roblox Roleplay servers, they were quite unrealistic, and the roleplay was not as serious as it is on SchoolRP. I have been on SchoolRP for 5 years and have always been captivated by the aspect of a serious roleplay. I've taken a few breaks here and there from the server but have been back for a while and intend on staying. This server has offered me an amazing opportunity to live out my roleplay needs.
What are your current roles on SchoolRP:
On my main account, I have [College][M], and [Grade-12][Volleyball]. On my alt, the one I am applying for, I have [Grade-12].
What is the subject you want to teach?:
Calculus - Mathematics
TRIVIA SECTION
What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:
Being a professor would allow me to have more interactive roleplay experiences with students in a dynamic which is different from student on student. Out of character, I’m currently in a major where I had to take Calculus courses. My professors enriched my head with education which I found fascinating and helpful, which would allow me to teach people outside of roleplay on the subject that I have a passion for.
As an avid roleplayer and person who has a strong passion for teaching and the subject of mathematics, I would love to contribute to the community by teaching a subject I am well-rounded in OOCly and find more unique roleplay scenarios.
Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:

Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:
- Matching Questions and Answers:
A good activity for after a lecture would go like this. The class would be taught a lesson and by the end of the class would be split into two sides: Questions and Answers. Each person would be assigned either an equation/function or an answer and everyone would have to work together to match each pair. This would teach collaboration and arithmetic skills in a way that is fun and interactive!
- Math Trivia:
After the end of a lesson, the room would be split into two teams where they are given questions by me in a trivia-styled game. I would give the students a question related to the lesson and the first to raise their hand and give a successful answer would be rewarded with a point for the team. By the end of the class whichever team gets the most points would be compensated with a prize.
Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:
Real-World Calculus Applications Finding Velocity and Acceleration:
A great way to engage the students with a topic which may seem boring to many students would be a way to connect Calculus to the real world. Perhaps take the students on a nature walk to calculate distance in correlation in the time it takes, deriving the distance and time to get velocity and then again to get acceleration. This would be handed in and graded by me.

SCENARIO SECTION
Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?
Professor Huỳnh stands behind the group, clearing his throat with a stern look on his face. He has no tolerance for troublemaking on school grounds, a sacred place of education and professionalism to him. “What seems to be the issue here?” He would observe the situation in front of him, seeing the college jocks clearly ganging up on the bobcat jock. “Is there a reason why we are all gathered up on this young man?” Huỳnh is a man of justice, values, and discipline. “If you all could kindly let this young man leave there will not be an issue here, if I see this happen again I will have to write you all up for an infraction.” Hieu would stand there until the group dispersed away and when the bobcat jock gets away safely. “School is a safe space to learn and grow. Not for messing around and picking on others, do we understand?”
Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?
Huỳnh would pinch the bridge of his nose, a combination of the dumb questions and the ungodly amounts of coffee he drinks is giving him a headache. His patience is wearing thin but he holds his composure calm. “You made it this far in life, you definitely know the answers to these questions and it’s clear you’re just trying to be funny.” Hieu would write down the students name on the chalkboard and put an X. “Get to three X’s and you’ll get more than just detention, young man. This is a detention, not a party so kindly keep quiet.”
Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?
Professor Huỳnh would examine the situation first to find a way to not escalate the situation further than it already is. “Break up the fight. NOW.” Hieu would stand his ground firm and speak again. “If I see another physical attack thrown I WILL not hesitate to call down SLT and have you all punished for this nonsense.” He takes his radio out and buzzes. psshhh. “May I have SLT and a nurse please report to (LOCATION). There has been a physical altercation between a couple of students.” Professor Huỳnh would separate each of the individuals from the altercation and stay, waiting for SLT to come sort the situation out.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What does they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?
Hieu Huỳnh is a man described by many as intelligent, successful, confident.. Maybe a bit too confident at times. Huỳnh thinks logically, and statistically, numbers are always what talked to him. Hieu is a 5'7 male of Vietnamese descent, a face that still seemed quite young compared to his age, well-kept short professional looking hair, and eyes filled with passion and yearning for knowledge. As much as he is a handsome man, he much rather people see him for his intelligence instead of his physical appearance.
Professor Huỳnh knew from the start he wanted to teach from a very young age. In high school, he started a tutoring program for his peers. This was, initially, a way to add assets to his college application until he realized he loved seeing people learn and understand concepts which they did not understand before. He kept tutoring during his undergrad and became a Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo and Harvard during his time there. He sees his students as the future generation of achievers. His goal is to ignite the flame inside his students' brains to yearn for education and to become even more smarter than he ever was. For his other teaching peers, he respects them as he understands the drive to become an educator. He believes that educators are the cornerstone of society and that they are overlooked by many.
Huỳnh plans to continue his research in Japan, while teaching college students at Karakura. He strives to discover more and to lay his knowledge upon the children of today and to continue learning himself day by day. Hieu dreams of having an apprentice one day where he can pass on the torch to continue his work. He plans on staying in Karakura with his family for the rest of his life.
Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.
Make sure this is over 100 words.
Professor Huỳnh was raised to value academics above all. A family which put him into an international school back in Vietnam and pushed him towards success at all times. He originally had plans to become an engineer, as he was drawn to the beauty of mathematics, physics, and how logical the field was. During his time in high school and post-secondary education, he discovered his affinity for being an educator by tutoring his peers and becoming a TA in university. Huỳnh believes education is the backbone of society, which is also evident in his three children he has pushed to become achievers. Hieu finds beauty in teaching and the pursuit of knowledge in each and every human.

Full Name:
Huỳnh would be sat neatly, at the table. In front of the interviewer would be a well-kept bright-faced and well mannered male. “My name. . ? Hieu Huỳnh!”
Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss):
Huỳnh would clear his throat before fixing his posture, which he kept at a 90 degree angle at all times! “I would like to be called Professor Huỳnh by my students, I won’t take nothing less than Professor Huỳnh. I studied at Harvard for my doctorate! I will not respond to anything less. If you’re just a colleague I would be okay with Mr. Huỳnh.” He clearly had an ego to him. . .
Given Name(s):
The male would fix his tie. . He came to the interview with a full suit and tie, a bit formal for a college with a lesser reputation? It was pretty clear he was a bit overqualified. “My full name is my Given name. Nothing has changed!”
Preferred Name:
He fidgeted with the buttons on his cuff a bit, took a sip of the cup of overpriced coffee he brought to this interview. “As I said before, Professor Huỳnh if you’re one of my students and Mr. Huỳnh if you’re a colleague.”
Age:
Hieu didn’t look a day over 35, the man had a clean-shaven face and was well-kept. He really did win the genetic lottery. . “How old do you think I am. . ? I’m kidding, that's a trick question. I’m 52.”
Gender & pronouns:
Huỳnh looked at his watch. It felt as if the man was in a hurry. “I’m a man, He/Him would be just fine.”
Religious Denomination:
Hieu thought for a second. . Pondered for an answer. “I grew up Buddhist but currently agnostic.”
Marital Status:
A smile grew on his face when the question of marital status was brought up. He had a soft spot for his wife and family. “I am happily married to my wife of 22 years.”
Nationality:
Nodded at the question about his nationality. “I grew up in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Ethnically I am Vietnamese through and through. I did study in Japan, Canada, and The United States of America.”
Current Location:
Huỳnh took his glasses off for a second, wiping them before putting them back on. “Bare with me there was a speck of dirt..” He would align his glasses straight. “I currently reside with my family in Karakura, we decided to move here for a good change of scenery. We actually just came from New York, as I was a former professor at New York University.”
SECTION 2: Academic Details
Teaching Experience (# of years):
Hieu swiftly answered the question. “I’ve been teaching for 21 years. Maybe even more if you count my time as a teaching assistant during my studies. I have been working at NYU for 18 years now.”
Working Experience (# of years):
This was an easy question for Hieu to answer too. “I’ve been working for 23 years, my first two years before being a professor I was working in research at Harvard.”
Academic Degree:
Huỳnh opened his suitcase, bringing out three degrees. “This one is my Bachelors at Tohoku University, This one is my Masters at University of Waterloo, and this one is my PhD from Harvard University.”
Year of Graduation:
This was a topic that Hieu liked talking about, his achievements. He spoke with confidence. “I graduated in 1995 from my undergrad, 1997 for my Masters, and 2001 for my PhD.”
Major(s):
He stirred his coffee before taking another sip, the scent of straight black coffee would be noticeable coming from his direction. “I actually went to school here in Japan for my Bachelors at Tohoku University for a Bachelors in Computer Engineering, graduated top of my class of course. .” A smug laugh would escape from his mouth. “I knew from the start I wouldn’t settle for a measly Bachelors degree and went to the University of Waterloo in Canada for my Masters in Mathematics.” Huỳnh was clearly well educated. . Enough for him to be this pretentious. “Again why settle for less when you can go for more right? That’s why I settled for Harvard for my Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics.”
Minors:
Hieu stroked his chin before answering. “I minored in business, I never really got to use it but at least it helped me become more financially literate!”
Native Languages:
Huỳnh readjusted his tie, muttering to himself “Gosh has it been that crooked the whole time?!?” It was barely noticeable if it was crooked or not. . . “I grew up in Vietnam going to an international school. Vietnamese is my Native language.”
Other Languages:
“Well I speak Japanese of course, but also English as I did study in the States and Canada and lived in New York.” He looked at the clock and then at his watch, carefully watching if the needles aligned. He tinkered a bit with his watch until the time aligned perfectly, a perfectionist was the right word to describe Hieu.
Preferred Teaching Subject:
“Calculus, the mathematical study of continuous change. It is a beautiful study and I’d hope to inspire the next generation of mathematicians!" Hieu sneezed into his elbow politely. “Excuse me! Sorry the allergy season has been kicking lately. . .”
Conclusion:
Huỳnh would offer a handshake with a firm professional grip. “Thank you for this interview, I’m honoured to be here today and I hope you have a great rest of your day.”
