At the end of it all, it was only me. I could no longer hear the screams of other students, I could no longer hear feet tapping the ground, I could not hear anything. I was the last alive, at least, I thought I was.
after a little while of unimpeachable silence, I heard something. It was different from before, I had felt the atmosphere when the monster was close, I could not understand what was happening. I sat in the corner of the room where I was, trying to listen to any sign of what the unnerving atmosphere meant.
Then, out of the darkness of the doorway, I saw him. The principal of the school had made it to me! I do not know how he had made it, he had managed to slowly make his way to my room, this in itself was a miracle. I was glad to see him, he first said in a whisper,”hello, it is me, the principal.” I was in shock at first, I didn’t say anything. Then I managed to reply “thank goodness.”
He said,”Finally! An actual human! Everything is going to be okay now, we are safe.” I truly thought that it was the end of the nightmare, I was with the most trustworthy duck in the school.
But as he said that, I saw something behind him, it was too dark to tell what it was, but before I could say anything, it took Mr. Ducks. I watched in horror as the alien ate the principal. I could not do anything but watch, I tried to move but my body would not let me, I was frozen in fear. I huddled in the corner, crying to myself. Once it was done, it looked at me. It stared at me with its solid black eyes. It crept toward me, not looking at anything else, I could only witness what was happening, my death. I could feel the biting on my skin. I was done for, after all the progress I had made at surviving the onslaught of the aliens, scavenging for food, doing everything in my power just to have it end like this? At the end of it all, I am finished. Goodbye.
