Backstory: Alright, lets do this one more time. Koji was born in downtown Kyoto, in a small apartment overlooking a busy street. His family was... not great, having been apart of the now eradicated "Shi Clan". His sister left home when he was three, so he never really knew her. When he was six, his parents started training him to be another member of the Shi Clan, which he refused to do. So, he got kicked out of the house, and did his best to survive on his own. As difficult as that sounds, he actually got a part-time job pretty easily, and eventually got enough to buy a small apartment between his work and his school. At some point, he got involved in a workplace accident, where he got caught in a minor propane explosion due to a leak, resulting in the scar visible on his arm. At this point, he found his love for cooking, working and working till he had mastered basically every recipe he could get his hands on. After about a year of this, his parents died in a housefire, which quickly got put out, but not in time. Koji never got the news until two years later. He kept going like this until he finished middle school, where his Uncle Kareru invited him to live on Karakura with him. Of course, Koji readily accepted, and went over to Karakura after quitting his job, and setting himself up so he could attend Karakura High. But as soon as the ship landed, Koji received word that his uncle had been killed. After that, he kinda went into a state of mourning, which got quickly replaced with pain since he got pushed off the lighthouse on Karakura, shattering both his legs and putting a hole in his side. After he got all fixed up, he went back to just existing, no goals, just... surviving. He eventually found love, and got a girlfriend, which was great and all. About a few months after getting with this girl, they got in a bit of an argument, and Koji decided to hang out at the beach, where he was promptly struck by lightning. Of course, he survived, but it cost him his ability to feel most temperature. After that, he ended up getting super depressed because his girlfriend, who he was intending to marry, ghosted him so hard that people thought she went missing. Now, since he's not too good at being social, he's had a lot of time to just hang out, which he's spent learning how to work with metal, how to swordfight, and just cook more. At this point, he decided to go and take a break from school and just Karakura for a while, headed back to Kyoto and just relaxing for a while. He eventually came back to Karakura, and found out that a friend of a friend was actually his sister, meaning two of his friends were actually his cousins. It was a surprise to him, but not an unwelcome one. And now you're all caught up! Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Notes: This character got pushed off the lighthouse like THE DAY I made him, so I kept him around and just shattered his legs. He was in the hospital for a while, so I kinda took a break from the server while I waited. And with the lightning scar thing, I actually got struck by lightning on the server, and decided to make it canon because it left me laughing to myself at my desk for a sec.
