How do you run shaders? I have a decent computer that can generally run BF4 on med graphics, yet I can't run Minecraft after the map change (specific to the server.)
My specs are relatively decent: AMD HD 5730 with an I7 1st generation. Ram is 8gb.
On the server I have all my settings low and have view range at 2, yet I get 13-40 FPS
AVG at 26 FPS

You need a above-average computer to really play with shaders on, and more so considering that the map has alot of blocks. I usually turn the shader off when I play and turn it on when I take pictures.

Those are my frames without shaders. With shaders it's around 14 FPS AVG. I guess a near early 2000s PC is running it's last lap.
I used to be able to run shaders at 30 FPS AVG on the old map though.

Yes, you need optifine to run shaders (and I recommend optifine even if you dont run shaders)
