Describe your activity on the server? :

I think I’m quite active on SRP. In fact, when I’m not busy with college classes or important academic work, I try being active on SRP. This often ranges from 7 pm to 12 am EST. During weekends, during the afternoon/evening. Of course, the time I will log onto SRP will depend on the amount of college work I must do, but in general, I log on every day for a few hours. I’d give my activity an 8/10.

Which timezone are you in? :

EST

Do you have discord? If so what is your tag? :

I do! fredtastic#8367

Do you have a microphone? :

Yes, and I enjoy joining voice chats.

What experiences do you have with Detail RP? :

I have quite a lot of experience with DetailRP. Being someone who enjoys GangRP and the detailed P2L fights, I’ve experienced situations where DetailRP was needed multiple times. I’ve also tried, even though taking the time to DetailRP is hard in a faster-paced situation, detailing actions within other roleplay aspects, such as RomanceRP or simply everyday actions I enjoyed detailing!

I’m applying for a psychiatrist, so I do understand that, for that specific role, interacting with the patient is even more important. DetailRP will, most probably, be less important than in a surgeon role for example.

What is your motivation to apply for EMS and how will you benefit our current team? :

Of all the faction roles, EMS has always been the one that has interested me the most, I especially love the detailing and realistic aspect of the workers. I also chose EMS because it’s a centre of interest for me. I am currently studying biology in college with great hope of being admitted in med-school next year! The medical field truly interests me and I hope to be able to have a career related to this field in the near future.

Within EMS, I hope to meet some new people to have fun with, and also hope to explore different kinds of RP one can experience. In fact, I’ve tested the different RP I could on my college account, and I feel that EMS will really get my interest. I've also realized the vibe within the EMS staff teams looks quite joyful and pleasant!

To the current EMS team and more precisely psychiatry team, I think I could bring some positivity and a light environment. I’m deciding to join EMS for serious RP, yes, but also to discover new people and to invest myself in my new psychiatrist role. I’m known to get very invested in RP, but I think this investment can bring some realism and fun to roleplay!

Which medical role are you applying for? (e.g: Surgeon, Doctor, Psychiatrist):

Psychiatrist

Specify your knowledge for the role you’re applying for:

A psychiatrist, whilst maybe being underestimated by a lot, has a crucial role in a hospital and within society itself. A psychiatrist’s role is to ****yze and treat the mental side of one’s health. He is the specialist doctor when it comes to mental illness. His job often being close to the the******’s, he approaches the issues under a more “medical” view. His role with the patient is to diagnose any mental disease, but also to prevent those types of illness and to treat them. A psychiatrist will often be seen having therapy sessions with newer or older patients. Psychiatrists also often give civilians personality tests and have serious talks with their patients in order to find the best way to treat and help the patient feel better. Their job can also include filling in prescriptions to treat problems such as eating disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.

Categorize all the functions of the EMS and tell us what each of them does:

Hospital Director:

They are a person who manages the hospital in accordance with its mission and departmental health policies. The director works actively with senior staff to define objectives, policies and programs in order to provide the population with the highest quality services possible. They put in place the management mechanisms enabling the efficient functioning of each service and the judicious use of human, financial and material resources and available information. The hospital director is also in charge of hiring staff and giving punishment if errors are made.

Clinical Manager

The clinical manager has similar tasks to the hospital director. In fact, he is also in charge of management, and his role is to make sure of the hospital’s good efficiency. Being right under the hospital director in the hierarchy, he has a crucial role within the EMS staff. He is in charge when the director isn’t around! The clinical manager is also often seen supervising training of newer staff.

Clinical Lead

There are three clinical leads within the hospital. One for each domain: Surgeon, Doctor and Psychiatrist. The clinical leads have to make sure their department is running smoothly and they are responsible for dealing with more complex situations. Clinical leads are to be a leader to their team and must assure the efficient training of their staff.

Surgeon:

The surgeon is a specialist who performs surgical procedures (operations) that can affect all parts of the body: tumours, fractures, defective organs, bleeding, transplants, etc. After having preliminary examinations performed, the surgeon decides, in consultation with the patient and other health professionals (except in case of emergency), whether to operate or not, after which he defines the procedure. The surgeon’s core area of practice is the sanitized operating room (or “OR”) of a hospital or clinic. During the operation, which can last several hours depending on the operation, he is surrounded by a whole team of specialists: anaesthetists, operating room nurses, resuscitators (Which aren't a thing on SRP, but still) . His surgical gestures require immense attention to detail, manual skill, composure and extraordinary physical and nervous resistance. After surgery, it is still the surgeon who prescribes the post-operative care, treatments and medications to be given to the operation. In view of the extremely technical nature of the profession, the surgeon can specialize in a specific field: neurosurgery, urology, obstetrics, orthopedics, plastic surgery, etc.

Doctor:

The Doctor knows perfectly the needs of each patient according to their profile and will be perfectly able to adapt the treatment for a young child or an elderly person. An expert on the human body, he is as capable of detecting amnesia as he is of detecting cardiovascular disorders. To make a diagnosis, he will ask the patient about the symptoms and the history and then proceed to a clinical examination. Depending on the results, he will be able to indicate precisely which disease is concerned and put in place an appropriate treatment. He has a perfect knowledge of the patient and follows up on certain chronic conditions. Doctors also have the knowledge and skills to treat patients in case of an emergency. Their abilities can range from healing small cuts to dealing with organ failure, though more complex manipulations are often the roles of the surgeons.

Psychiatrist

As explained prior, psychiatrists are doctors who are specialized in the mental illness and emotional health department. Their job can range from diagnosis of disorders, therapy sessions with patients or prescribing specific medications. In order to detect any signs of illness, a psychiatrist will do a complete evaluation of the patient’s health which can go from simply talking with the patient to medical imaging of their brain. Once the diagnosis is made, the psychiatrist can treat the mental illness himself or coordinate the treatment for his patient.

Do you acknowledge that you’re subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?

Yes, and I will do my best for it not to happen.

Do you acknowledge that applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Hospital Staff role?

I do, and fully understand that I will need to have a certain treated patient quota.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are authorized to attend or you will be punished?

Yes, I will make efforts to be present at every training I possibly can attend.

Do you acknowledge that you are NOT to take things OOCly when dealing with training & situations?

I acknowledge that OOC mustn’t be used in those situations. IC should always be prioritized.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us about your character; how do they look, what makes them unique?

Aurèle is a very tall man who can look oddly menacing at first. In fact, his larger build and muscular shoulders might give some false impressions about him. However, he is quite the contrary. With his deep and reassuring voice, he helps his patients to find safety within his therapy. His short black hair fit perfectly with his dark skin tone. What stands out, though, is his smile. Being a joyful person, he enjoys grinning, and when he does, his white and aligned teeth manage to make one’s day even better. He is often said to be “a big softie.” He has a great sense of humour and enjoys having a good laugh. Aurèle also stands out for his great confidence and maturity. For him, his workspace should be a pleasant, but professional environment.

What are they like on and off the job?

On the job

Aurèle is known for his professionalism and hard work. He has some kind of obsession. He can be a control maniac. He likes when everything is at its spot. For him, not having complete control over every variable of his life can be dramatic. This is why he loves being so organized. With his schedule being booked from 8 to 5 every day, he has some difficulty taking some time off. With his patients, he lets out a calm and comforting vibe. Having mastered a few to turn a word’s meanings, he always manages to make the patient answer their own question!

Off the Job

When off duty, Aurèle is quite different. He is more relaxed and careless. Productivity not being important when off duty, he allows himself to actually have some fun. Still being a sports lover, he enjoys going to see sports matches or heading to the beach to challenge the jocks to a volleyball tournament! He somehow has a great relationship with sports players from high school and college. He somewhat recognizes his old self within them! In his free time, Aurèle is a bit lazier. He loves taking afternoon naps, or to read a book in a park. Finally, what he likes the most, is sitting with his friends on a Saturday evening sipping a beer while discussing life. He somehow finds peace in those stupid and oddly deep conversations.

Outlook on their co-workers? Plans for the future?

With His Co-workers

Aurèle doesn’t necessarily enjoy getting out of his office in order to interact with his co-worker. When he does come out of his work cave, he always remains respectful towards his co-worker. He likes taking their ideas into consideration. Seeing he was the “popular kid” in high school, he has great social skills. He enjoys telling anecdotes about his past life, or having a more serious talk with a coworker. In fact, he is a great listener. People around him often open up to him and he is always pleased to help. He sometimes surprises himself by doing his psychiatrist techniques with his close ones!

Plans for the Future

Aurèle does not have any huge plans for the future. He plans to work in Karakura for at least a few years. He does trust destiny for the future. He will end up wherever life chooses for him to be. What he does know is that he wants a family. He’s been single for a great chunk of his life and he feels like he’s now ready to find a significant someone and to settle down with a few kids. He also wants to travel the world during the holidays. For him, travelling truly is a passion. Why do you think he went to Japan in order to work?!

Does your character have any past/current mental and or physical illnesses we should take acknowledgment to?

Due to an injury in college, his left femur hasn’t completely healed which can lead to weakness for that leg. He can sometimes be seen moving with crutches on his weaker days.

BACKSTORY

(Make sure this biography/lore has 100+ words.)

[915 words]

Birth

Paris, 28h of April 1985, on a fresh morning, Étienne and Mélanie Norbert were rushing towards the closest hospital to their small Parisian-style apartment. The young couple had been married for two years and this baby had been long awaited. Even though their financial situation was very limited, they were madly in love and were about to meet life itself was giving them: Aurèle.

Childhood

Aurèle had quite a classic childhood for a kid from Paris. His dad was a mechanic and his mom, an author. As a lone child, he always felt loved, but sometimes lonely. He would have killed to have a brother or a sister around him. In his free time, he enjoyed going out in the streets with the kids from the neighbourhood. At a very young age, one could already see he would have a bright future. He loved talking to the homeless couple who was living right under his apartment building. Even on top of his 8-year-old, he saw the injustice in society and tried helping them as he could, giving them a few bucks from his bank, or handing them food his mother was about to throw out.

Teenagehood

Aurèle had a very early puberty. In 9th grade, he had already hit the 6-foot mark and was still growing day after day! In school, he was quite the legend. In fact, he was quickly recruited in the exam of American football in high school and became, after only a year, a star player and the team captain. People said he would be, without a doubt, playing in the NFL (National Football League) within a few years. On the social level, he was a jock and he knew it. With his humongous friend group, no girl was unable to fall at his feet. Quickly, a reputation built upon him: He’s the school’s player! On the academic level, he was also quite performant. President of his school’s science club, biology and psychology were his favourite classes which led him to choose his college major: psychiatry.

College Life

College marked, for Aurèle, a turn in events. He had to balance studying and his outside life. Knowing when to study and when to do sports/hang with friends was for him a great challenge. Still being in his university’s American football team, he kept his reputation of being a fantastic athlete. His talent in sports also brought him some prizes and scholarships which truly helped him pay his tuition fees. Outside of practices, he could barely be seen on the campus. He kept locking himself away to revise for his degree. That’s when everything started to go downhill. His social life was close to zero. He barely had any friends and could often be seen being rude to his classmates. Then, during a football match, what had to happen happened, he got hurt. While tackling him, a player from the opposing team accidentally broke his left femur. He could not do any sports for months and his leg would never truly recover. This was his last game playing for the University of Paris. Now unable to practise his passion, all he had left was the motivation to be the best psychiatrist of his class. Academic validation was his only source of happiness. Deep down, he knew he was not okay, yet he continued. Three months later he was diagnosed with depression. During these dark times, he had to start taking time for himself; passing time with people he appreciated. Slowly, but surely, he got out of the hole he unfortunately fell in. A few months later, he finished his major and could finally start his residency process.

Residency

When the time for his residency arrived, Aurèle decided to get out of his comfort zone and to leave France. Canada was where he decided to move for a few years. Once there, he fell in love with the country. He truly thought it would be his forever home. He loved the landscape and the people. He started his residency in Montreal, where he also did his minor in sociology in McGill University. Quite busy with his academic work, he did manage to get out on weekends in order to explore the city and have quite a bit of fun with the locals. He loved his time in Montreal.

Two years later, he was heading for the Canadian west coast to end his residency. In Vancouver, British Columbia, he met Camelia Heartwood. He was deeply in love with this woman and imagined his whole life with her. Thing is, Camelia was terminal: leukemia. At her bedside, he was there for her for the better and worse days. Taking advantage of Camelia’s stronger days, he enjoyed every bit of time life could grant the young couple. She died on a shiny morning of June. Aurèle, still grieving, ended his minor in Neurosciences and his residency to finally go back to France, alone…

A new start!

With his freshly obtained degrees, Aurèle used his knowledge in mental health and psychiatry to obtain his first actual job as a psychiatrist in Paris’s general hospital. Pleasant and professional, his name started being known more and more amongst the French order of psychiatrists. Then, all of a sudden, he was away. Japan is where he moved. Life gave him a new challenge and he was as ready as he could to bring to the city of Karakura his professionalism and his helpfulness.
