Describe your activity on the server:
Relatively Active!
I am very active on the SchoolRP server! I play SRP pretty much every day, and I try to attend as many of the events as I can. I have a summer job at my family’s daycare center, so usually, if I'm not online, that's what I’ll be doing. Because my job isn't very demanding and I have a lot of free time, I really enjoy spending it on roleplaying on the server!
As for the different Discord servers, I don't speak a lot in the channels, but I do pay attention to announcements and occasionally pop in to read what's going on in #General/Lobby.
Similarly, I am not very active on forums other than reading and posting application threads.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
I believe I have good experience with roleplaying, as it is something I have done on a wide range of games throughout my life. It’s definitely my favorite genre of games, especially when I am able to do it with other people! I have a lot of fun, and it's something that I look forward to doing. I think the most important thing is having fun and being able to try new things. Something I love about roleplaying with others is that you’ll always get a unique experience, and get to see different roleplaying styles and characters.
SCHOOLRP SERVER
When roleplaying, I enjoy describing things in detail, and I try to incorporate actions with each section of dialogue that I engage in. I do my best to apply detail to as many scenarios as I can, in addition to remaining in character during these times. Not only does that make the experience more engaging, but it also allows me to meaningfully build onto my characters and further develop their personalities and mannerisms. With that being said, I also don't mind utilizing quick actions or responses containing only dialogue, especially when engaging in a light or less-serious roleplay theme.
CLUB RP
One way that I have been able to expand upon my roleplay experience is by engaging in club activities. For example, participating in cooking club meetings. CookingRP is something that, upon joining this server, I've found that I enjoy. This type of roleplay leaves a huge window to get very detailed, as it consists of following a set of steps, which can be easily expanded on. And because this is a great way for me to practice my roleplaying while also having a lot of fun, it's something I do nearly every time I play! I'm also really excited to expand this to SewingRP and TailorRP, as one of my characters was just accepted into the fashion club!
DIVERSE ROLEPLAYING EXPERIENCES
While playing on SRP, I have found different ways to have exciting and fun roleplays that often also allow me to meet new people. Some things that I have had so much fun with are camping scenarios, beach day scenarios, study session scenarios, slumber party scenarios, and other fun activities!
CITYRP
I was able to participate in CityRP through working at a shop in town, Pixels n' Potions. While attending shifts, I was able to engage with a wide variety of characters and interact with players from a more professional standpoint. During my shifts, I am able to manage orders, keep track of payments, stay up to date on logs, and most importantly, engage with the community!
ROBLOX RP
Before I played SRP, one of the games I found some fun roleplays on was Roblox. I roleplayed on RoyalHigh, Bloxburg, WCUE (Warrior Cats Ultimate Edition), and a few other games. I had so much fun with these, and I was able to pick up a lot of RPing tips from observing others I met on these games' roleplay.
What is your motivation for applying?
I have several motivations for applying for this role! First, there are role-playing opportunities that become available. This is a fantastic way to try out different role-playing styles and engage with an even wider range of players. Each of my characters so far is in high school, although I am working towards getting one to college. With that being said, there are a few limitations to what experiences come along with that. Naturally, after a while, certain things become routine, and I think this would be a great way to try something new!
My next motivation is to explore the different subsectors of the server and get to meet new people in the SRP community. This role is also a great segue into getting to roleplay with an adult character and getting accustomed to that space. As I mentioned previously, something I love about roleplaying is getting unique experiences by playing with others, and most importantly, making new friends!
My last primary motivation is that this is a great way to add depth to my character and contribute towards her personality development. It's easy to get stuck in the same routine of character behaviors, and for that reason, I try to ensure that each of my characters has a distinctly different personality and mannerisms. I do this through initial planning, however, RP scenarios are what allow me to really consider how my character may behave. Having the opportunity to roleplay in a new setting, it allows me to further develop my character.

SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS
Character’s Full Name:
Liora Melchor
Liora scanned the room, her eyes exploring the area around her as she took a seat. As she settled down, she had neatly folded her hands upon her lap. Her thumb brushed over the other as she met the interviewer's eyes with a now unwavering gaze. Her legs were crossed at the ankle, and she nodded after being asked one of the many questions anticipated. “My name is Liora Melchor,” she introduced herself with a short but friendly smile. ” It's nice to meet you. I hope you're doing well today.” Liora extended a hand outwards, offering a gentle handshake to complement her greeting.
Character’s Gender and Pronouns:
Female She/Her/Hers
As the next question was asked, Liora brought a hand to her shoulder. She rolled her neck and adjusted her placement in the chair to get more comfortable. “I am female, and my pronouns are She, Her, Hers.” She felt no need to elaborate, her answer was straightforward and to the point.
Character’s Age (if accepted):
25
“Oh! “ Liora perked up, her smile expanding. “I just turned 25. I had an amazing time for my birthday, too!” she spoke with her hands, making small gestures as she explained. “My family and I went to the beach, and we even got to spend some time boating. It was really nice. It's not often that we all get together, although.. not all of us were able to make it. . but still, a nice experience."
Character’s Academic Background:
(Grade-12/Bachelor/Masters/PhD)
Bachelors
“Let's see..” Liora brought her fingertips to her chin, humming thoughtfully. “I spent my younger years in the States. I attended high school in France, at École des Roches, a boarding school. That is where I was able to learn Japanese and touch up on my French! After graduating, I attended the University of Tokyo and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Medicine!" She smiled, proud of what she had accomplished, yet still aware of all there is left to learn. “In the future, I’d like to work towards getting my master's degree.”
Character’s Nationality:
French-African
A wide smile stretched across her face. Liora loved this question, or any opportunity, really, to speak about her family. “Well, I am French-African. My mother is French, and my father is African-American. Actually, I was born in France, you know, so my primary citizenship is there. I did spend quite some time in the States, though.” She began to ramble, bringing her hand to the cross necklace around her neck, and she began to trace her fingers along its length. “But it wasn't until I was maybe... four or five (?) that my family immigrated to the United States, because my baby brother was born!” Her smile grew, she should check in on him soon. “Oh! I'm so sorry, I'm getting sidetracked. What was the next question?” She released a weary chuckle.
Character’s Marital Status:
Single
Liora’s smile faltered slightly, though it faintly loomed, it had left her eyes completely. “Oh, I'm single.” She kept the answer short and sweet. “I uhm. . . prefer to focus on myself, relationships can make things a bit complicated,” she admitted, her reach slipping down from her necklace. She folded both hands upon her lap once more.
Character’s Religious Denomination:
Christianity
“I am a devout Christian,” Liora answered with ease. “With moving around so much in my life, you’d think it would be a challenge to stay connected to the church, but I've made an effort to speak with the other members at least once a week, usually on Sundays.” Her smile gradually returned. “With that being said, I do have a great respect for others' beliefs regardless of what that may be.”
Character’s Spoken Languages:
Japanese, French,
[I would like to include English due to her time in the United States, although I'm unsure if I can list that because of the language rules, etc]
“As I mentioned earlier, my mother is French, and I was born there. When we moved to the United States, I was still able to retain French, but that was honestly all thanks to my mother. I used to. . .” she chuckled, a bit embarrassed to admit. “I used to beg her to read this little book every night. Have you ever heard of it? Le Petit Prince.” Liora paused for a moment, translating. “Er- The Little Prince!” She nodded, correcting herself. “Anyway, she would read that to me every night, and still did after I could read on my own!” She clasped her hands together and chuckled, then she placed a hand over her heart with a ginger sigh. She should call her mother soon. “I ended up having quite a large collection of children's books, all in French, mind you. I remember, when I would have friends over, they were always so surprised to read them!"
Character Backstory (Optional):
Liora Melchor was born in France, being the firstborn of her parents. Her earliest memory is spending sunny days out by the lake with her mother and father. When Liora turned 4 years old, she was told that she and her family would be uprooting their lives to move to the United States with her paternal family. She didn't understand why and spent days sulking about leaving her friends behind. That was until she received an explanation. Moving to the States wasn't a rash decision made by her family, it was a strategic choice put into motion upon discovering that there was another child on the way. Liora was going to have a baby brother! She was overjoyed with the information. Rather than diligently packing, she spent the remainder of her time in France picturing how it would be to have a sibling. In a few months, her dream became a reality. It was everything she imagined and more. Typically, when a family welcomes a second child, the firstborn often feels neglected. For Liora, that never seemed to be the case. In fact, the time her parents spent with her seemed to increase. This trend continued for the duration of her life. Liora maintained a connection to her French lineage by regularly engaging in conversations in French with her fluent mother. This played a huge role in the bond they had together.
Upon entering middle school, she was enrolled in a plethora of extracurricular activities, the one she enjoyed the most being piano lessons. She continued to excel in a wide range of subjects, although it never came easily. With hard work and dedication, she discovered that she can do anything she puts her mind to. When she finished middle school, her mother thought it would be best to send her to a boarding school in France. There, she was able to touch up on her French and strengthen her comprehension of the language. She was naturally a bit homesick during the beginning of her stay, but as time progressed, she formed strong friendships and reconnected with those from her early childhood. One of the elective classes she took while she studied in France was a course in the Japanese Language. Her selection of this choice was intentional, as she had a goal in mind for achieving her higher education goals in Japan. As time went on, she thrived in her classes in addition to successfully learning the Japanese language. Although there are still times she gets confused or needs to freshen up her knowledge, she is proud of what she has accomplished in being able to speak Japanese, in addition to French.
During each break, she returned to the states to spend time with her family, and she was always excited to share how much she learned. Each visit was filled with warmth and love, although the relationship she once had with her baby brother began to strain, she did everything she could to show him how much she loved him. She graduated from high school in the honor roll and knew exactly what she wanted to do next. Liora was rather methodical and tailored her high school career to be a perfect candidate for her dream university. The time she was able to spend with her family began to dwindle, but as she did before, she’d visit them every chance she got. She continued to send letters to her baby brother, although it was rare that she ever got a response back.
During her time in Japan, her love for the country grew, and she became enamoured with the culture and the people within it. When she wasn't studying towards her degree, she continued to read, filling her mind with as much knowledge as she could obtain. She loved learning about the area she inhabited and decided to search for work in Japan upon receiving her bachelor's degree.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
(Ensure this is appropriate to the position you have chosen. Some examples can be found here)
Orthopedics
"I promise I won't let you do this alone."
During her years at boarding school in France, one of her closest friends was a talented violinist who fractured her wrists after falling from a bicycle. Overnight, the girl who dreamed of becoming a renowned musician struggled to hold a fork, let alone a violin bow. Liora frequently visited her during rehabilitation, helping out with homework or simply offering company. What encouraged Liora to choose Orthopedics wasn't the injury itself, but it was the recovery and everything that came afterwards. She watched as her friend progressed through weeks of physical therapy, painful exercises, setbacks, and small victories. And the day that her friend was finally able to play a melody on her violin was the moment she realized that she would also like to contribute to the restoration of others. To her, it was more than just a physical recovery, it was also an emotional curve. She remembered the many long nights she spent with her friend, offering her a shoulder to cry on and doing her best to give reassurance. Liora dreamed of being able to give the same hope to others that she witnessed doctors give her close friend during that time.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
"It's okay if today hurts a little more than yesterday. Tomorrow gets another chance."
Liora spent her last two years of high school volunteering in the same physical rehabilitation centers her friend attended during her healing process. There was nothing she enjoyed more than watching others recover, and this was where she considered hope to become measurable. Whether it was being able to walk without assistance or the smallest bend of a knee, every moment was an achievement. When she would return to the States during her breaks, she participated in community health events from the American Red Cross. Towards the end of high school, she was certified in administering CPR and basic first aid.
While in University, her experience grew as she was able to shadow various orthopedic surgeons, in addition to becoming a research assistant. She completed her internship in a rehabilitation clinic, where she was also able to use her multilingual skill set (Japanese, English (?), and French) to communicate and translate when needed. One of the most important things to her that she learned during this time was not only the significance of physical healing, but the impact that proper bedside manner can have on a patient.
[I would like to include English due to her time in the United States, although I'm unsure if I can list that because of the language rules, etc.]

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
"Kindness doesn't make the weight of difficult things disappear, but it makes them easier to carry."
Liora Melchor is a French-African woman of short stature. She has dark brown skin and long, beautiful curls that cascade down her back into defined ringlets. Her eyes are an earthy green shade, large and downturned. As a smile begins with her eyes, it gradually spreads across her face, the corners of her mouth expand, and her cheeks expose a set of deep dimples. She radiates warmth and an unmistakably gentle presence that reflects in all aspects of her life. While Liora is incredibly compassionate, she isn't naive. She tends to try to see the best in people, and despite her ability to keep a level head in most situations, she does not tolerate or accept disrespect targeted towards herself or anyone else. Liora is inherently soft spoken, but she still voices her opinions clearly and directly.

How does your character act around the hospital?
"Je suis fière de vous!" "I'm proud of you!"
Liora walks with a purpose, but never rushes past people. She takes time to meet the eyes of those who pass and offer them a ginger smile. If a patient looks confused in the hallway, she slows them down before they even work up the courage to ask for help. When she passes a coworker who seems unusually quiet, she pauses just long enough to ask if they're doing alright, in a voice so gentle it never feels intrusive. She greets every member of the staff, from surgeons to housekeeping, with the same warmth. Small gestures like these are a part of her routine because they are genuine. She makes an intentional effort to remember small details about others. She is patient, and her gentle nature reflects as calm during emergencies as she remains composed and compassionate. Not only is she gentle in spirit, but she is gentle in touch. No matter if she's checking a surgical sight, adjusting a brace, or helping someone stand for the first time, she always warns patients before making contact. Liora isn't remembered for grand speeches or dramatic moments. She is remembered for the steady kindness in her voice, the patience she shows when she listens, and the reassuring feeling she gives that shows, no matter how difficult recovery becomes, someone is walking beside them every step of the way.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
"Medicine was never meant to be practiced alone. The best outcomes happen when we trust the people standing beside us."
Liora works best with others and genuinely values others' expertise. She doesn't see asking for another's opinion as a weakness, instead, she believes it's one of the best ways to ensure excellent patient care. If she isn't sure about something, she'd rather ask a coworker than let pride get in the way. One of her biggest strengths is communication, as she shows herself to be patient and approachable. Not only is she open to learning new things from others, but she also loves supporting others as well, by sharing the knowledge that she does have. With that being said, Liora is also comfortable alone. When she is doing something that requires precision, she prefers the silence. You may often find her sitting in a quiet office with a cup of tea, reviewing information, or reading medical journals.
