Previous bans:
I've been banned twice before in my six years on the server. I made mistakes, but I will not repeat my mistakes. I've grown up since the last time I was banned. I will never make those mistakes again and can assure you that I am not the same person I used to be.

Describe your activity on the server:
I keep up with my accounts frequently, and I have two completely functional accounts. If you don't see me on my main account, I'm probably on my alt but, if I'm accepted, I'll be online more often. I'll be online whenever I have time or every day. I'll make sure to keep going and avoid becoming inactive.

Which timezone are you in?
EST (Eastern Standard Time Zone)

What is your motivation for applying?:
I've wanted to apply for the KPD for a long time. It's been a part of me for a long time and hasn't stopped being a part of me. It could also be because I like that type of work out of the game, but as a nineteen-year-old, I'm aware that I can't become an officer OOCly. Ever since being a PE teacher for almost a full year, I realised that my mental health is now better than ever, and I can handle things that I previously couldn't. This is only part of the reason I'm applying. I've also missed it a lot and would like to be a part of it again with my new-found self. There's also evidence that I can handle this now with the teacher role and among other things that have occurred OOCly outside of the server itself. KPD has never stopped being apart of me since the very first time I was apart of the force back in 2019 and back in 2020. I would also to experience the KPD once again but not in the sense that it was back then I am aware the KPD has changed a lot since I was last there so have I but with both of those things it matches up to be I am ready finally to take this on more so when then when I was only seventeen years old.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
Yes, I've been in the KPD twice before, but I'm aware that a lot has changed since the last time I was there. A lot has changed, but I remember a lot of the basics of what I knew. I remember the rules, what is expected of me, and now some of the new KPD rules that have changed over time. I'll list some of what I know and define each term. I also have a lot of general knowledge about police work outside of the game. Each will be divided into duties, items, and police department rankings. I also only listed the most important items and duties for when you first start. I am fully aware that there is much more to the KPD than these things. I also do have the knowledge of what it means to be a police officer but I won't go into detail with that with this application.

Officer Duties

This is not all of what police officers do, this is only what I could remember off the top of my head as this is what I usually did two to three years ago during my time in the KPD but most likely it has changed since then.

Pat-down:
The pat down consists of putting on gloves, which is sometimes used by the police force, but not always. When an individual is handcuffed or detained, they use their hands to thoroughly search them against a wall or on the ground. Sometimes a suspect is released. This is used to look for any illegal items that may be on the suspect at the time. There are a few types of them but for privacy reasons I will not be mentioning them.

Front Desk:
The front desk is responsible for greeting visitors, receiving reports, accepting bail if the person who came in wanted to bail someone out, and arranging visitation if the inmate is allowed to have one. Typically, all officers in the KPD, with the exception of the commissioner, sit at the front desk whenever it is needed. It is a universal duty, as there is no specific duty for them.

CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television):
CCTV is essential for any part of the police department, whether on the server or off. CCTV is very important for catching criminals and crimes committed near CCTV, but it is a little different for the in-game police than it is for the out-of-game police for a variety of reasons. CCTV, I believe, has a radius of 30 blocks in-game.

Patrolling:
Patrolling is an important aspect of the police department, it is required to keep the city safe and to protect it from potential threats. This occurs both in and out of game, without patrolling, the crime rate would be much higher. This requires the officers to be wary of their surroundings and watch their backs in the process.

Reporting:
Reporting is extremely important for the world of police work. Lets say someone had attacked another individual, lets say if it was near the beach where it occurred. The person reporting would first ask to file a report to a officer at the front desk, usually the officer asks for proof regarding this incident which is screenshot proof that is required to proceed further. Then the officer will give their discord for the person reporting to see any screenshot proof they might have. If the proof is valid, the officer is then required to ask them to face the wall patting them down and if they are cleared to take to the back where the reporting rooms are located. Typically the KPD has a protocol to follow when it comes to this to ask ICly, such as where this occurred, witnesses, victims, the person who committed the crime, a description of them, along with the name of the victim/witness, which in this case is the person reporting along with any other names while adding any important information that would be crucial for this report. Once the officer has the needed information you escort them back out the doors they came from in the front.

Utility Belt Items

These are not all of the items, there are more such as the police cruiser, the police bike, the pepper spray, etc but these are the main items that you would need on a regular basis throughout the time as a police officer for the server except the Glock-17 is not really needed the entire time but it is essential.

Taser:
A taser is a device held by a police officer that is used when there is no immediate threat to them and the person they are attempting to detain has not tried anything. The taser is also designed not to harm the suspect, but to paralyse them for a short period of time without physically harming them in any way. This can also be used for when the criminal is running on foot to try to escape. The taser has a 3 block range.

Handcuffs:
Handcuffs are used to detain any potential suspects at a crime scene or when officers are on patrol and need to arrest or question someone. They are also intended to deter the suspect from fleeing the police. Cannot be mugged.

Baton:
When something goes wrong, they must use the baton to keep the person from harming them if they haven't already. Sometimes it will be too late to pull out your baton, but most of the time you will be able to. The baton can be used to also attempt to defend yourself by pushing the suspect back with it. This has a two block range. Can be mugged, it is illegal to carry it if you’re not a police officer.

Police Radio:
The police radio is required for communication while on duty. It is one of the most important items that an officer can carry. If something goes wrong, you must radio for backup or be radioed back to another location in the city, which in this case is Karakura. Assume an officer is injured on the job. They can request backup to their location in order to assist the officer.

Glock-17:
The Glock-17 is essential in situations where a taser or baton are ineffective. Though this is typically held by higher-ups of the force, unless the higher-ups decide it is needed and give it to the semi-lower ranks during an emergency, the Glock-17 is only used, if I am not mistaken, if there is an ongoing threat to people around and tasers and batons will not suffice. The Glock-17 has a thirty-block range. This cannot be mugged, only police officers can use it, and also has a two block physical range.

Police Badge:
Police Badge
- The police badge is extremely useful when you are on duty and need to show someone your rank and that you work for the government. If someone asks you if you work for the police department during an investigation, simply show them your badge while on duty. The police badge also symbolises authority, sacrifice, and community service. Cannot be mugged.

Laws of Karakura

I know some of the laws are most likely different but this is what I can remember that I know hasn't really changed and if they have I apologize as I didn't remember or if I got the information wrong, but this is what I could remember at the top of my head about the laws. I also do know there are a lot more laws than the four listed.

Jaywalking:
Jaywalking is the act of walking across the road where there is no designated pedestrian crossing. It is illegal in the city of Karakura and will result, if I am not mistaken, in a ¥5,000 to ¥15,000 fine. I don't remember the exact fine amount, but I know it is illegal. If you are caught doing so once, you will be fined the same as the other times, but if you are unable to pay the fine, your character, who is the person who committed this act, will be arrested.

Loitering:
Loitering is the act of purposefully standing somewhere for no apparent reason, one of the most common places I've noticed this is within the KPD station itself, as well as the hospital, those are the most common places I've seen this occur, it is illegal both in and out of game. You have a chance of being fined when you do this, and it ranges anywhere between ¥5,000 and ¥20,000, if I am not mistaken. Sadly, I do not remember the fine amounts. If the person who is doing this can be arrested because they cannot pay the full fine or refuse to leave, they can be arrested.

Blackmail:
Blackmail is the act of threatening someone either physically or mentally. This illegal both out-of-game and in-game, this is a criminal offense and if I am not mistaken can get you arrested for this. There is no fine like the others here but instead is an arrest.

Assault (Battery)
Assault is the act of physically harming another individual in an attempt to harm them in any way, whether this is punching them, sweeping them, etc. This is a criminal offense and can get your character arrested for assault. Depending on the severity, it can be used to blackmail as well. Also it depends on how intense this was and what the arresting officer is required to do. It is illegal both out-of-game and in-game. Assault is also a major crime, it can only be dropped if the person is proven as an act of defense.

Police Ranks

This is all I remember base on my knowledge, I tried remember all the definitions of each rank while also listing them in order if I got any of the definitions wrong apologizes.

Commissioner:
The commissioner is the highest ranking within the police department. They are in charge of providing supervision for the entire police department. In this case, this position is also for the KPD and is in charge of reviewing applications as well as bringing in new officers. They sometimes perform the same duties as regular officers as well. This rank also helps with patrolling/training sometimes.

Police Captain:
The police captain is the person who typically assists the police commissioner with a variety of tasks, but they are primarily responsible for effectively planning, directing, and supervising what the other officers do in collaboration with the commissioner. Normally, they train the officers, but not in this case, though they do appoint the trainers if I'm not mistaken with the police captain. They are also the second highest rank within the police force.

Police Detective Superintendent:
This role within the police force is the person who typically investigates crimes with some of the other officers within their division of detectives. They are classified as the highest rank within the police detective division. They are still extremely important for carrying out multiple different tasks within the station. They also help with patrolling sometimes. This is the ninth lowest rank within the KPD.

Police Detective Chief Inspector:
This rank in the police force is required to supervise other ranks such as officers, detectives, and support ranks. They are there to hire and train new members. They occasionally conduct performance evaluations of other officers, but they also patrol, etc. This is the eighth lowest rank within the KPD.

Police Detective Inspector:
This rank in the police force is responsible for reviewing records, monitoring inmates and suspects, and participating in patrols, raids, and other activities. They typically investigate major crimes within a city, which in this case is Karakura. They also carry out patrolling, arrests, and other duties like the other ranks. This is the seventh lowest rank within the KPD.

Police Detective Constable:
This rank is similar to the Police Detective Inspector in that it can enforce multiple laws, such as criminal laws, traffic laws, and so on. They can carry out civil and criminal laws and are available to assist other detectives with whatever they may require. They also go on patrol, make arrests, and so on. I am aware the traffic law version does not exist within the server but it is still a part of the job out-of-game. This is the sixth lowest rank within the KPD.

Police Lieutenant:
This position within the police force assigns work to various units of the force or directs something under their command. They are there to manage work and plan the best course of action, they are also sometimes tasked with training the lower ranks of the force, as seen in the KPD. They may also be involved in patrolling, arrests, and other activities. This is the fifth lowest rank within the KPD.

Police Sergeant
This role is responsible for evaluations, plans, and so on. They are considered police supervisors; they also work on the front lines of the force, such as during arrests, patrols, and raids as seen for the KPD. This is the fourth lowest rank within the KPD.

Police Corporal
This rank within the police force is in charge of supervising the performance of the officers ranked below them. They are usually assigned by the Sergeant, and they are sometimes in charge of directing activities for the force, training, and organising the police force. If I'm not mistaken, they also participate in patrol, arrests, raids, and other activities. This is the third lowest rank within the KPD.

Patrol Officer:
This rank within the police force is responsible for law enforcement, city protection, patrol, and maintaining order in order to keep citizens safe from harm or anything that could pose a threat to them, they participate in patrols, arrests, raids, and so on. This is also the KPD's second-lowest ranking. This rank within the KPD you will be required to take a test to go from Cadet to Patrol Officer.

Police Cadet:
This is the lowest rank in the police force. When someone is referred to as a cadet, it usually means that they have recently been accepted into the police force and will need to undergo extensive supervision and training before being promoted to Patrol Officer and so on. They are not to leave the station without supervision and must leave with a higher ranking officer if requested. They can conduct arrests, raids, and patrol, but they must be supervised at all times, which is the KPD policy.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
Police are vital for a variety of reasons. The first is that they maintain realism, which is what some of the server's owners and staff were aiming for when they first created the server, while also attempting to contain the ever-growing gangRP that you see every time you log on. Police are also useful in maintaining order. They are useful in preventing criminals from causing harm to citizens while also attempting to keep the city's crime rate low. It is also used to add realism because, think about it, there would be no police in a world where the majority of criminals roam around, which is what School RP is now, even though that was not their full vision but it did turn out that way, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?
Yes, I do acknowledge that I am subject to removal if accepted.

Do you acknowledge that by applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?
Yes, I will be 100% dedicated to this role and will not give up it.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, if I am online and there is training held I will be sure to be there.

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
He'd have dark brown hair, an athletic build, brown eyes, and be about six feet tall. His uniform and regular clothes were always clean, with no stains or wrinkles to be seen, but he had a large scar across his hand that was a decent length. He would have a cold and caring personality. He would not let his emotions get in the way of any duties he might have during his time on the force. He would frequently have an expressionless face, but only when he was off duty would he break it, but not too much because he still needs to maintain who he is so he doesn't lose that sense of himself, but also in case someone was after him and attempted something. He would also be wearing gloves when he was off duty to prevent someone from identifying him by his scar or attempting to pinpoint what he does. When he off duty he would be wearing neat clothes but not extremely bright clothes, he would seem younger than 39 years old, he would also have tan skin to him and his clothes would be much darker in color, his normal clothing would be a brown jacket with a black belt with black gloves with dark pants. On-Duty his uniform would be neatly on, no wrinkles, no stains, etc, same goes for off duty, he would not be wearing his gloves when on duty.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
He would not let his emotions interfere with any duties he might have during his time on the force. He would frequently have an expressionless face, but only when he was off duty would he break it, but not too much because he still needs to maintain who he is so he doesn't lose that sense of himself, but also in case someone was after him and tried something. What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
He is optimistic about coworkers and teamwork. He believes that coworkers are extremely important in any career you may pursue. It does not mean you have to like your coworkers, but it is critical that you work well with them, and he believes he will. Teamwork is also extremely important in any type of workplace, without it, you would be lost and doing a lot on your own, which in the end only drains you physically and mentally, which is not ideal, so he believes both of these are extremely important for this and likes the idea of them.

Do you see yourself as a leader or a follower? Why?
Yes, I do see myself as a leader but if you are also a leader you also tend to be a follower in some sense. Ever since I was young I was a leader rather it was in clubs back in Italy, volunteering, etc when I was younger, I also did do football (soccer) back in Italy during my days as a high school and college student before giving it up when I was 21 years old for reasons of my own, I have also lead

BACKSTORY (100+ words)
Lorenzo Adorretto

Lorenzo was born on January 15, 1983, into a family of three sisters and a family dog, a German shepherd adopted by the parents while on a trip to Germany a few years prior. He spent the majority of his childhood playing with Bear, the family dog, and his three sisters, Aria, Gianna, and Sofia. They adored their younger sibling, and when Bear or his sisters were not around, he frequently spent his time playing with his friends. He used to spend a lot of time on his bike when he was younger, until one day, when he was about five years old, he was playing outside when he crashed his bike into a large metal pole while not paying attention, causing him to cut his hand open. He refused to ride his bike again after that because he was afraid it would happen again, as a result, he began wearing gloves whenever he went out in public. Until one day, while he was sitting with Bear, his sister Sofia came outside. Sofia had told him that if he was afraid of everything, he would never get anywhere in life as Bear tried to play with him and lick him. He was at the top of his class, on the football team (soccer), and a club leader at his high school by the time he was fourteen and starting high school. During this period, he witnessed something he never expected to see: an actual arrest. He was walking home about 5 minutes from school when he saw this happen; he stopped in his tracks, and suddenly he felt happy about what he was seeing, but it wasn't the joy of something bad happening but rather the joy of witnessing a criminal being arrested. He grew up hating criminals, as he grew up in a town that was known for criminal activity. After a while, he realised he was staring at them. As did the officers who finally arrested the individual and asked him if he was okay. He nodded at the officers as he walked home after that incident, and he realised that's what he wanted to be when he grew up. When he returned home, he told his sisters what had happened, everyone was shocked. They agreed on supporting his dream and what he wanted to do. They promised to stand by him no matter what, and Bear seemed pleased as he barked happily at Lorenzo and the others. During his senior year of high school, he made the decision to continue exercising as he had done since joining the football team. In his spare time, he had also taken up the study of crimes and such and had ended up purchasing some investigation books with his pocket money. After high school, he went to college for four years to study criminal justice at the age of 19, after taking a year off. He met a young woman his age, and after dating for a while, she had his daughter when they were only twenty-one years old, and she ended up leaving him after that, leaving him to raise his daughter on his own while working and attempting to stay in school, but he wouldn't be able to do this without the help of his family. After graduation, he decided to attend the police academy, but his daughter was not permitted to accompany him. They had given him the option of becoming a police officer within the city he lived in or becoming a citizen somewhere else and becoming an officer there. He decided it was best to relocate his daughter and himself to a different country entirely, but he had no idea where to go. He ended up in Japan, and shortly after that, he discovered the city of Karakura. He also continues to wear the gloves when he is outside in public, he doesn’t want people seeing the large scar on his right hand.

SECTION 2: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?

No, you cannot legally own a pocket knife, if you are caught with one, you will be arrested and charged with illegal weapon possession.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
Surgical Mask, Eyepatch, Glasses, Unbranded Bandaid, White Cane

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
The first step would be to obtain proof, which could be accomplished through the use of cameras, audio recordings, or other means. Once that occurs, I would go to the appropriate higher-up and show them the proof, and if it is one of the higher ups, I would go to the Commissioner and show him what occurred. But, in any case, I would notify a higher-up who can take over to deal with this, but I am aware that some type of proof of its occurrence would be required.

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
Depending on the circumstances, if we were on patrol and there were only a few of us and I was the only one who noticed, I would first hide somewhere where they couldn't hear me but where I was visible to them. I'd look around to make sure I wasn't alone, then radio for help with my location and where I was. When that is finished, I'll pull out my taser to try to stop the assault on my coworker. I'll try to keep the attackers at bay until the rest of the officers arrive. Once that is done, I will check to see if we require medical assistance from EMS, and if so, I will radio EMS to come to the location, and if they do not come, I will have someone take us directly to the hospital. This is just one of the few scenarios that relate to this, the other one is inside the station by another officer, a criminal inside, etc.

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
I'll first figure out how to plan this in order to figure out how to get proof; once I figure that out, I'll make sure to gather the necessary evidence for a few days and notify a higher-up about the situation. If they ask for proof, I'll gather it. If my superiors ask for even more proof, I'll gather it, whether it's recordings, CCTV, photos, or anything else. I'll return to the higher-ups once I have the next piece of footage to show them what I've discovered. I'll leave the rest to them once they say it's enough and that they'll handle it, unless they need my assistance again. Again, this is only one of several possible outcomes; there are a few others that will not be mentioned.

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
I will turn down the bribe. Most of the time, I don't think people will ask when you're on duty, but whether I'm on or off duty, I'll refuse a bribe. If they ask me while I'm on duty, I'll tell them to face the wall and arrest them because it's illegal, but if they ask me off duty, I won't arrest them and will simply decline the offer.

We appreciate your interest in the faction. However, the higher-up team
has decided to deny this application.

- While the reasons may vary, the main motive behind this review has to do with
the fact that there were other applications who had more chances at getting accepted,
which doesn't necessarily mean that your application was bad.

- Please understand that this decision was taken by the entire Higher-Up team, so avoid
DMing any member of the KPD faction in regards to your application.

- Feel free to re-apply for the next Cadet Wave! However, we recommend that you try out
other factions to get yourself to be known by the playerbase and to have a better reputation.
