Group Locations

What's the title of your suggestion?: Group Locations

What's your suggestion?:
Being able to request spots around the map for group hangouts. There are plenty of spots around the map that aren’t being used or are simply lacking the lore factor. My suggestion is that there should be more spots where groups like covens, or even cults can gather and make it their own.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
This would simply make it more fun for not only the groups but the people that may pass by these areas, I think it would help create more community by involving these ‘groups’ to be out in the open. It could also open up rivalry between groups.
That being said, I think to request a spot, having to write a form with the desired place, explaining your ‘group’, reason, and if accepted being able to possibly reach out to builders to build something small. This would not mean making completely new large architecture around the map, but more of small little pieces that could be cool.

Honestly this is something that can already be done aside from the request for builds being added.

I don't personally see a big reason as to why more space needs to be allocated to this, when there are locations that could be used without using edit regions or requesting a builder. If it's a matter of rivalry, that can happen without it. Much of the forest is overpopulated with things built for situations adjacent to this, cabins could be used or the strange odd campground in the corner, some of the caves, the mines. Along with areas near the new abandoned fishing village, a cave near the waterfall (specifically the one where the water comes from.) These are viable locations to use as a meeting location, or a general location for you to be at. If someone were to pass by the large group, or investigate, there is a reason to interact.

Though, I can see how this would also be similar to how gangs have assigned / taken over turfs. Which is something they don't necessarily need either, because they could potentially obtain the same sort of thing without it being at an assigned place.

I may have mixed up what i was saying, I meant using up the space we currently have. I agree with what you’re saying, but my idea was to phase more of a claimed group spot.

There is plenty of ways for a group to claim an area by frequenting it or being there commonly and word of mouth. I feel as though for this specific style of role play, that option would more than likely be better. As it would turn into a folklore sort of thing or Urban legend.

I don't personally believe that covens are large enough in the fanbase of SRP to warrant this. And cultists use the church from what I've seen, or adjacent. There are already areas to utilize without a claim.

I don't know how to feel about this one.

If we are talking about literal addition of buildings or more areas for roleplay, then this is a +1 from me; it's always nice to have areas to roleplay. I currently can't see the image the OG posted, so that's partly why I don't have the full context.

If we are talking about limiting areas for just people who are in cults or any other group for the sake of lore, then this is a -1 from me; cults and other groups have been increasing in popularity in SRP, and limiting them is definitely not the main objective of why I would be opposed on this idea. My main concern lies more or less on what @Luxid said, and I do agree in a way; if the main reason is the lack of lore, then the best way to resolve it is by BUILDING lore from the player base, not from a sign or ooc basis. That, for me, would be a waste of potential in storytelling, and ultimately on what a roleplay server is about; in a way, storytelling. "Claiming" areas is just like what turfs are, and restrict other players on having the chance of building Lore there.
