  • What to avoid when getting a custom car
  • How to incorporate them to your Character
  • Proposition on how it will be received and perceived in-character

DISCRETION: This guide is NOT an officialized guide, It is made to help players who are looking to get a custom car to rethink their choice and maybe give them guidance on how to incorporate Custom cars tied to a certain character.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW THIS GUIDE IF IT’S NOT WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR

Custom Vehicles.. What are they?

Custom vehicles is a part of the SchoolRP shop, which allows you to purchase a custom vehicle for 50$ USD (Depends on Currency.) These vehicles help with driving around town, but it can also enrich a roleplay experience. Once the Vehicle is requested and finished, the vehicle will be given from the weekly pack up-dates. In which you usually pay 125,000 Yen in In-Character money.

Usually there are two types of Vehicles.

MOTORCYCLES
CARS

2-4 Seats
Centered Driving
More Customizable
Better turning Radius
Turning Radius uncentered
Open Vehicle
Closed Vehicle
Mostly same Silhouette
Most cars looks unique

In-character price range: Generally Medium to High

Who Model these vehicles?

We have several modelers who work on different types of models. The link to each modeler's portfolio below.
https://schoolrp.net/forums/3d-modeller-portfolios.219/
If you don’t want to read the link, We provide the modelers who make/focus on cars.

  • HampterHunter
  • LithiumLibido
  • Hirathex
  • OhneTalent

Each of these modelers also have their Dos and Don’ts.. So it's better to read through them.

What do I want to get?

What should you get? This is a question that requires thought.. So before you make a request or speak to the Model Coordinator, PLEASE speak to any of the modelers beforehand, as many models requested have been made already.

The Modelers can and would provide a list of references and recommendations of cars or other vehicles of your desired category.

Custom Vehicles as Roleplay tools

Custom Vehicles aside from being an awesome way to go around the map, Can also be used as an Important Roleplay tool. And Most importantly as a byproduct of a Character’s Development.

From subtly referencing their financial status, to also their hobbies and interests. Cars are much more useful than you might think, and can even be used as a tool to gain infamy.

How do Custom Vehicles be used as Roleplay tools?

Depending on what custom vehicle you have, You can incorporate them into Roleplay Scenarios, use them as a main focus of a certain interaction. Or subtle hints at changes of your Character.

Here’s an Example:

In the context of a Scenario Props, You can prop cars on Vehicle lifters as well as on the ground to give a clearer context on a Mechanical Garage being used.

In the context of Financial status, Here’s a photo of one of Karakura’s Reporter Leo Volante with his old Muscle car, showing that his Financial status only allows him to afford this car and not modern sports cars.

Which leads back to Car Choice. If you’re looking into getting cars as a Lore Significance addition to your character, Be aware of your character’s Financial Status, Hobbies, and standing when it comes to Vehicles.

An example would be Teenagers. Let’s say you have a Character who’s currently in High School. They have an average income from side-jobs and errands and only considers Vehicles as transportation, and you want to give them a vehicle to show their Financial Status and Standings when it comes to a vehicle.

Here are examples of what to get and what not to get:

CORRECT
INCORRECT

And to add more into it. Some Manufacturers are available at large in Japan while some are required to be Imported which adds more to their Price and Exclusivity. Refer to this below:

DOMESTIC
IMPORTS
ToyotaSuzukiFerrariVolvo
NissanHyundaiLamborghiniAston Martin
MitsubishiKiaDodgeMcLaren
MazdaPorscheFordPagani
SubaruBMWBugattiKoenigsegg
LexusMercedes-BenzRenaultCadillac
InfinitiHondaChevroletLancia

Remember every brand has their cheap and expensive cars, so research further if you need to get in more details. And feel free to ask people who are knowledgeable in the subject about the possibility of obtaining certain cars realistically.

Not only that Every brand have cars with Limited Production count so make sure super rare cars doesn't end up becoming the most common car on the planet. After all immersion is part of the game, and to improve immersion, you have to compromise.

While you can ignore all this and choose any car you want, If you decide to incorporate your vehicle in-character, you are at a risk of causing a contradiction to how your character is and the vehicle they own. Which can potentially lead to others assuming that your car is a Replica/Kit Car, or a Rental.

Note that this does not apply to modified cars as modified cars can be done using cheap cars. So if you want a sporty car that makes sense for a not-so-rich character, That’s your best bet.

And Remember, do not take this as encouraging to make characters with rich backgrounds, I know some of you will, however that’s not what this guide wants people to start doing. This is merely a Guide and Basics to choose cars properly and incorporate it to your character as smoothly as possible.

i agree completely as a decent racer
BAD
SUPERCARS -( tend to be highly over used by people who are not able to obtain such wealth icly. Also very difficult to make them look quite good)
(also dont order a car if you not gonna actually use it)

Not Necessarily.

The main point is that Vehicles and the Characters need to make sense, If you have a character with a rich background and status, you CAN get supercars, however it needs to be remained within the realm of 'Is your character's current status would realistic-ly allow him to get this Vehicle'
