Describe your activity on the server:

Despite just returning, roughly two months ago, I've maintained activity on the server for a multitude of reasons. For the most part, I get online to work shifts at Tsuki-No-Umi, Seikatsu, and work on quota for Hoshino Productions. I used to tailor but haven't gotten back into the habit just yet. With all honesty, though, I'm online constantly because I love random encounters a LOT, so usually you'll see me running around aimlessly trying to get my attributes up on my alt.

Below is a table of times I'm free from, start to end.

Wendsday

I'm currently in an online, asynchronous college for Criminal Justice, so I'm sometimes busy with assignments, though not often. On top of this, I finish them relatively quickly and early; they don't affect my availability.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:

Crime:
I've been playing SRP specifically for many years, longer than I honestly should have. Throughout that time, I've focused mostly on CrimeRoleplay, not to be confused with GangRoleplay, which I took part in specifically for roughly 2 years. The majority of my attention was spent on my time in Fight Club, which I had originally managed to get into through IC means during a tournament, progressing far enough by sheer luck to be recruited in. I managed to stay in it for a year and a half, but that, as well as my time in BMDA, was cut short by a ban. However, I've maintained my part in the Karakura Autos run by DarkEclipic and _Koly, who sadly just quit.

Reporter:
During my short 3-month period as a reporter, before the "great Gwaynes removal." I was on almost constantly, the majority of my quota coming from sitting at the reception desk instead of actual articles. I absolutely loved it, I mean, what self-respecting nerd wouldn't relish the opportunity to be along the same lines as Spider-Man? While there, it was actually insanely fun to try and balance being a day-to-day office worker and being some super evil BMDA, among other things.

Workplace:
Seikatsu. Tsuki-no-umi. Hoshino Prod. I cannot and will not stop talking about my experiences in these three places. I have adored every single second, even the multiple times my character has gotten fired (only IC). I loved the change I had to roleplay working at the restaurants; I've worked every single role in both without any discrimination for what it pays. Thankfully, after nearly a year of being in Seikatsu, I was promoted to become a manager. Granted, I'm not as much of a pro as the other manager and the two co-owners, I like to think I do well. I try to go a step further even when there's no opening present, or when one just ended, cleaning the tables, sweeping, organizing, detail roleplaying every step and breath.

DND:
Yeah, I'm a big-time nerd, can't you tell? I was introduced to DND first by my best friend when I was 13. Being 20 now means 7 years of nonstop experience. I've made so many characters within this alone that I've lost track. I mean, that's one of the most exciting parts. Being able to craft a character, appearance, background, skills, and all is the most rewarding thing ever, especially when people express interest and praise for it. I'm sure any author can agree.

This is just a VERY brief overview of some notable points, the ones I'm not embarrassed about, and I plan to expand on with every chance I get on SRP.

What is your motivation for applying?

I don't really care about money or any of that, I've got enough from the shops I work at. My main reason is that, honestly, I just want to have fun; every choice I make is based on the idea that at the finish line I want to look back and appreciate how much I've laughed. I've experienced other factions, including Reporter and Professor, but so many friends have gone through EMS and talked about it. Guess you could say I have FOMO for how much I've heard.
And I mean, being able to send GIFs in the EMS server would be nice..

Which role are you applying for?

Doctor

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
Director

Pretty much goes without saying, I mean, the director in any world is the same. They oversee everything under them as they're the top brass. They manage the hospital overall, including Psychiatrists, Paramedics, and Doctors. Directly under them is the Deputy Director, who essentially does the same things as the Director but not to the same degree; there may be some minor differences between the two in terms of responsibility, though it still falls on the Director's shoulders.

Clinical Lead

In terms I understand, they're the on-floor managers of their respective expertise. They're responsible for training any new employees under their umbrella and overseeing anything within those boundaries.

Paramedic

First responders are the ones who rush to scenes, typically alongside police, and respond to any calls that may mean someone being escorted to the hospital promptly. Typically, they'll stabilize the patient while or before rushing them over.

Doctor

Diagnosing, treating, surgery, and check-ups. Doctors have a wide range of responsibilities. They may sometimes need to X-ray a patient, suture their wounds, carterize, adjust for prosthetics, and a long list of things.

Psychiatrist

Those who perform mental check-ups and diagnose any psychological issues, such as depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia, and the medicine that comes with it.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?

Hell's yeah

In-Character (IC) Section
SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS

Character’s Full Name:

Jūshirō pauses, giving the question its proper weight. He straightens his posture, his hands smoothing down the visible creases in his clothes. He's relaxed, yet composed. Back straight, shoulders loose, his hands rest neatly in his lap before shifting one to the table.
He offers a small, polite bow of the head.

"My name is Jūshirō Tsukishima. Jūshirō as in Tree, and Tsukishima as in moon island, but I prefer the translation constructed Island. Here, please let me write it." 月島 十四郎
His voice is soft, steady, and warm. Never too loud, nor quiet.

Character’s Gender and Pronouns:

"I'm male and use the he/him pronouns, though I'm not offended by any confusion."
He dips his head slightly again, not a single sign of discomfort worn on his face or his body language.

Character’s Age (if accepted):

Jūshirō's eyes glance down at his ID card, not out of confusion for his own age but fond contemplation. His eyes close as the calm expression on his face shines a smile.
"I'm very lucky to have made it to 35, and I'll be even luckier to be graced with gray hairs."

Character’s Academic Background:

"I took part in the medical track at Keio University School of Medicine in Shinjuku and completed a 6-year program. After I passed the Japanese Medical Licensing Exam."
From within his wool jacket, he produced a certificate, tilting his head proudly.

Character’s Nationality:

A faint sigh escaped him, warm and full of memories of his childhood.

"Kanagawa born and raised, if you require documentation, I'd be happy to provide it. This extends to any questions."

Character’s Marital Status:

"I'm not currently married... or seeing anyone for that matter. Now that I think about it I can't even remember the last time I spoke to someone romantically.. Maybe I need to.."
As he continued to ramble, his confusion grew. Had he really wasted his entire life dedicated to education and work..?

Character’s Religious Denomination:

"Oh, I'm a Shintoist, you'll find I'm rather generic in almost every word."
Jūshirō chuckled at his own response; it was just a simple jest. He wasn't one to think negatively of himself or others, for that matter.

Character’s Spoken Languages:

"Only Japanese, really, though I'm extremely open to the idea of learning JSL. I'm sure that'd be exceptionally helpful for understanding patients."
He offered the only hand sign he knew, a precise movement for the word 'Doctor.'

Character Backstory (Optional):

Jūshirō Tsukishima was born in the quiet coastal district of Kamakura (not to be confused with Karakura), where the air carried the salt of the sea and the misty mornings. His family lived modestly, not impoverished and not exceedingly rich. A simple middle-class family that wasn't comfortably within the qualifications. His father worked tedious, irregular hours, maintaining the equipment and boats at the harbor, a man of few words but rough, steady hands. His mother worked as a caregiver, moving from home to home, tending to the elderly locally who were forgotten by their own families. She was kind, something Jūshirō inherited.

Jūshirō's appearance didn't favor either parent more than the other, nor did his personality. As a child, he was quiet, observant, and exceedingly patient. While most children would run around and bounce off the walls, he preferred to hang in the back and enjoy things quietly from a distance, one step at a time. His maturity was apparent from the start.
To him, silence was solace, not loneliness.

At the age of nine, Jūshirō developed a severe respiratory condition. One that came unexpectedly and lingered despite all his and his family's best homebrewed efforts. What began as coughing and asthmatic-like symptoms quickly became hospitalization. His childhood was revoked from him, his days spent smiling, watching his peers, turned into longingly staring at the pale concrete ceiling of the hospital, with only a brief glimpse of sky available to him through the window. Days blurred into one another, only measured by the rotation of hospital personnel checking on him, or the clacking of shoes passing his room. It was during this time that he became intimate with discomfort, physical pain, and the remote loneliness of being temporarily removed from the world.

It was in that hospital room that he met the man who would quietly set his life on its course. The man wasn't particularly remarkable, nor was he known for his dramatics or genius. What differentiated him was his consistency and effort. He spoke softly, remembered little things, adjusted blankets without being asked, and even brought gifts. He not once treated Jūshirō as someone incompetent; he knew the boy was more experienced in his own condition than the simple diagnosis given by others.
There was no grand speech or single moment of inspiration.
Just consistent care, comfort, and kindness. Something Jūshirō missed dearly.
And for him, that was everything.

A year later, when he was discharged, the world felt louder than he remembered...
School resumed, friendships attempted after being put on pause, but Jūshirō was different than the person they knew. Beyond what they could grasp. He moved more slowly, not physically but in thought. Had he once felt the need to compete for approval, it was surely gone now.
Some found it cold, others comforting. He carried his experience quietly, never using it as an excuse.

Jūshirō was no prodigy.
He struggled at times, as consistently as any human, especially with the academic pressure required to enter medical school. But where others relied on bursts, he relied on his relentless endurance. Lengthy nights of study, repeated review, steady discipline. He approached life the same way he recovered, patiently. After graduating from high school, he spent a year preparing for entrance exams. Eventually earning admission to Keio University School of Medicine. There, he stood out for his presence. The way he carried himself, while others competed for ranks or recognition, he focused on understanding the patients. Asking questions others wouldn't think to, noticing overlooked details.
He knew better than anyone that Illness was more than just physical.

After completion, rather than pursuing a prestigious hospital, he found himself in a mid-sized hospital in Kanagawa for his residency. He wanted the ability to know his patients more, something that the rush of a larger hospital wouldn't allow.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

During his education, Jūshirō Tsukishima decided to focus on Internal Medicine (Internist). It allowed him to spend more time with his patients and add a more personal touch, especially as someone who had once dealt with a respiratory illness. He believes that understanding a person’s life, habits, and emotions is just as important.

He developed a particular focus on respiratory and chronic conditions. While he rarely speaks about it, he has an intuitive understanding of dealing with long-term illnesses.

Internists (Internal General Physicians) handle the following;
- Chronic illnesses (asthma, diabetes, heart disease)
- Respiratory conditions
- Infections and unexplained symptoms
- Preventive care (Checkups and screening)

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?

"Oh! Right, I believe my resume mentions my stay at Kanagawa hospital as a resident?"

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Now Playing - My song by Labi Siffre

Jūshirō Tsukishima carries himself with a quiet and effortless composure. He has short, neatly shaved hair, kept simple and practical. Though you may sometimes see him grow his hair out and buzz it, the hair is being donated to charity to make wigs for anyone in need of one. His features are soft, yet defined. A calm, gentle expression that rarely shifts into anything extreme or menacing without ample reason. There isn't anything necessarily special about him; he looks the same as any passerby, nobody to remember by name or looks. Being only 5'11, which is tall.. for his family that is.

Naturally, that means there's more to him than presented for all to see. Despite his demeanor and actions, he had a suppressed history of anger issues, which he only narrowly avoided by sheer will each time. He has no tattoos, no record, and no disciplinary actions taken against him at any point in his life. Leaving no room to question if he can even feel anger. But he very much does. He's willing and ready to take up any fight in defense of a patient or coworker at the flip of a switch; he just hasn't had to due to his excessive ability to calm the room. His tolerance built over his many years of people watching... and his best friend, who's a heavy alcoholic with severe lady issues.

How does your character act around the hospital?

As he's aged, he's learned that humor is a key to patient recovery and day-to-day interaction; it can bring warmth to anyone in a blizzard. So he uses a gentle form of it to combat stressful situations and lift the mood of others around him. Along with his calm appearance, he tends to gravitate towards places with high stress to diffuse things; if he were an officer, he'd be in negotiations. He's otherwise easy to miss, in stature, looks, and personality.

But emergencies is where he shines. He's someone others look to naturally in tough times.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?

Jūshirō functions well in both settings, but he prefers the comforts of having others around. A team can share the workload and pick up where the others failed. He admires and strives to work in an environment where he can interact with others, after his experience lacking such human care. Above all else, he adores humanity, and being around others is the most human thing you can do besides live.

Firstly, thank you for applying to the Hospital Faction, and we appreciate your interest. However, after discussing your application with the higher-ups, we have unfortunately decided to deny your application this time around as we feel other applications stood out more.

Nonetheless, we encourage you to keep an eye on the Karakura Emergency #announcements channel for future application waves, and to re-apply at a later date if you're still interested.
