Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are a vital part of the learning system for newer players. This goes for both ooc and icly influence, as this is likely one of the first experiences a newer player has with the education part of school roleplay. Having played on the server for over four years, I feel as if I have seen some of the highs and lows, also considering the fact that I have brought most of my characters through Grade-7, all the way to PHD, simply because I like to navigate the school's system. This server already has it in the name, this is a school roleplay server, and I feel like teachers help bring life to that with creative lessons to pass the time, and a newer system of credits that is easy and neat to navigate through as a student. Players who take on the role of teachers introduce a dynamic and engaging learning environment that is both realistic and also entertaining to participate in. They motivate students to go through the system and create more depth to the storylines of their characters.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?:
Yes. It is fair for everyone.

Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?:
Yes. I understand and agree to undergo training.

What is your motivation for becoming a Teacher?:
I have navigated through the grade system / credit system that there is currently, but I have also been around when you had to make your own letters / application in order to get into college, which was always a fun thing for me to explore. I have been in many classes in order to graduate, and I always felt like I might have ideas of my own. And because of this, I decided that maybe this was my time to attempt to do it myself. I am motivated for this faction specifically because I know some people that are currently in this faction (and professors), and felt as if I could contribute to it. I want to give others the opportunity to experience what I experienced when I first joined a class, and I hope to be able to do that in this faction. Additionally, I am also aware of how chaotic a highschool class can be due to attending as many as I have, and I feel I am capable and patient enough to be a teacher.

Describe your character:

Screenshot_20260707_183917_Discord.jpg

Nessa is a relatively bubbly person to be around, and sports long, wavy dark hazel-brown hair that falls gracefully around her shoulders, giving her a warm and approachable appearance. Her face is covered with soft freckles that add to her natural charm and uniqueness. When she smiles, she reveals a bright set of white teeth. Her hazel eyes carry warmth and curiosity, often reflecting her kind and understanding personality. Her strong accent can sometimes be a little confusing for others, but she always tries her best to speak Japanese close to fluently. Nessa is a calm, level-headed person with a strong accent and a genuine love for sports. She values discipline, teamwork, and fairness, and believes that everyone deserves to be treated with respect. She is compassionate but firm, approachable yet confident, and isn't afraid to stand her ground when she has to do so. Nessa always leaves a trail of a sweet scent, and carries herself with a straight posture that spoke volumes. Atleast, it did for her. One of her unique features was the prominent freckles across her nosebridge, adding a small touch of youth to her face. Her nose was button-shaped, and her lips were always sporting a different lipgloss. Maybe she collected lipgloss? Her physique was no different, she holds herself with poise and has an athletic figure. Not that odd considering her choice of profession and strong motivation. She is a positive force, and always does her best to motivate others, and help them onto the right path. Nessa believes almost anyone can be redeemed aslong as they receive a good listening ear. Her attitude is like a sun, sometimes it can be too bright. But, most of the time, it is perfect for the task at hand.

Roleplay Scenarios

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:

Nessa would calmly answer any questions asked of her, and if the student did not ask a question but looked confused, she would simply do a cirlce around the classroom to ask each individual person if they have a question. This way the person is not singled out, and Nessa ensures nobody has a burning question but is too afraid to ask. Nessa is always open to talk after class as well, or to repeat a lecture or the rules of a sport, as long as everyone involved can be respectful.

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Nessa would simply ask if it was something they had to share with the class, or if they had a question. She would calmly ask them to refrain from making too much noise as it may disrupt the rest of their classmates. But, if the continue, Kavanagh would simply request them to leave the class instead. After a reasonable amount of asking, ofcourse. Nessa is not the type to instantly jump to a detention unless the behaviour was disrespectfully disruptive. She views every situation uniquely and fairly in order to make the best judgement! Depending on the student and situation, Nessa might also simply give the said students a task to do to distract them from disrupting the class. This way they get to do something different, but they wont un-intentionally create a distraction for the rest of the students.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:

#1 | Miniature Sports Day . . . ♡
A miniature sports day: exactly what the name entails. This would be over the course of atleast two periods where Nessa would allow the students to play every single sport, then discover who is best at what sport in order to get an idea of what every sport team participates in daily. After this, Nessa would discuss with the class who liked what best, and if they would ever consider trying out for a certain sports team after this miniature sports day. This is benificial to the sports team because it might help newer students to find a sport they would want to try out for, and helps people discover what they happen to have a talent for. It is also a nice and organised way of showing the reality of a potential tryout, Nessa could maybe host an additional period just covering the differences in every sports try-out. Maybe she could even ask a few captains (or atleast one) to come and talk about it, this way tryouts are more common knowledge, yet it remains fun for all parties involved!

#2 | Beach Rumble . . . ♡

A small race designed to experience a series of four different sports, or five, depending on the amount of students. There would be (ideally) five groups stationed around the beach. Each at a different sport: volleyball, swimming, dodgeball, basketball, and running. The idea of it would be for the students to do some sort of relay race, in which they must finish as many games as possible before running to the next game. For example, if group A was at the basketball game, and group B arrived, group A would go to the next game. This creates a chaotic yet fun environment, whilst also enjoying the beach, and creating an educational field-trip. Of course, this would also include mandatory breaks to ensure everyone is hydrated and healthy when participating in these games, especially since it will most likely be sunny, on the beach, with warm weather. It is important to ensure everything can be done safely, and is fun to participate in for all parties involved. The groups would idealy consist of three or four people to ensure that the winners are all able to receive their stickers.

#3 | Fitness Escape Room . . . ♡

For this little class, I would create / use fitness stations with clues. After completing an exercise (e.g., 15 squats, 10 push-ups, 20 jumping jacks), teams earn a clue that helps solve a final puzzle. Whoever manages to work together and solve said puzzle will receive a prize: stickers! This would require team-work, and a fair share of detail-rp (though it is not required), and would open up a fun experience that used both physical and mental sport in order to succeed. It is a great way to encourage teamwork, and allows for students to think for themselves in a problem-solving manner. Another way to do this would be to do the same thing but with small sports, where the winners get the clues, and the others have to attempt to win another sport in order to obtain their clue, (these would be simple games, so easily won in two, if not one tries) and would introduce a HEALTHY dose of competition amongst the students present.

Have you read and understand the Teacher Application Guidance thread?
