Oh and the problem to why we cannot change our username is because, we don’t have the perms to do so. An admin would have to change it for us!

It was enabled for people to do so I believe, or it has always been enabled. I wasn't able to change mine until a year into activity on the forums.. it just didn't change for every single person. You'll have to get an Owner to manually change it for you; as they are the only ones who can.
