Describe your activity on the server:
I try to stay pretty active on the server, but I do have a fairly busy schedule in real life. On weekdays, I'm usually available between 9 AM and 4 PM, and then again from around 9 PM to midnight. On weekdays, I tend to be around a lot more - usually throughout the day, but that can change depending on what I have going on. That being said, I always make time for things I'm committed to

List your accounts and roles on this server:
My only account on the server right now is slowdi1ve. I don't currently hold any other roles beside being a high school student, since this is the first position I've officially applied for.

Are you aware that inactivity can result in removal from the council?:
I completely understand that being inactive could lead to my removal from the council, and I will give notice ahead of time if I ever know I'll be away for an extended period.

TRIVIA QUESTIONS

What is the student council and what do they do?:

The student council is a group of students who have volunteered to help support the school and community, both high school and college. There are two separate councils, one for high school students and another for college students, but both serve the same purpose.

Council members assist teachers, help keep an eye out for issues around the school, and are often involved in creating fun events or activities for the student body. They're seen as a level above regular students when it comes to authority and responsibility.

Though, they're more than just event planners, they act as representatives for the student body - whether it's helping with complaints, suggestions, or general communication between students and staff. They also play a role in keeping the school safe and orderly, like issuing detentions when needed. Overall, the council helps keep everything running smoothly.

What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.):

I wanted to apply for council because I feel like the role really fits my character and the kind of presence I want to have on the server. I enjoy being involved in things that matter and helping others when I can, and being on the council is a great way to do that.

It's also an opportunity for me to take on more responsibility and contribute in a meaningful way. I want to be part of making events that people remember, and playing a bigger role in how things work behind the scenes. Honestly, I think it'd be a really rewarding experience and something I'd love to be apart of.

Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events):

Absolutely - and I'm actually really excited about that part. I love working on creative ideas, especially when it's something that brings people together or makes their day a little more fun. Teamwork is something I value a lot, and I know how important it is when you're a part of a group like this. I'm always open to hearing other people's ideas, collaborating, and helping make things happen. Whether it's planning an event, solving a problem, or just helping out whenever I'm needed.

Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?:

Of course I can! Here's some roles I was able to think of, and how they can go hand in hand with the student council.

President - The leader of the council. They oversee everything the council does, from decisions about events to how rules are enforced. They're the final word on most matters and help guide the team as a whole.

Vice President - Second in command, working closely with the president to manage the council's responsibilities. They often take charge when the president isn't around and help make sure everything is running nicely.

Training Committee - These members are responsible for helping new council members learn the ropes. They help ensure that everyone understand their role and can contribute effectively to the team.

Councilors - The main body of the council. Councilors help teachers, assist with events, keeping an eye out for trouble, and representing the student body. They work directly with staff and other council members to maintain a safe, fun, and organized environment.

Teachers & Professors - Councilors often turn to them when situations need higher authority or extra support.

Nurses - Provide care for students who are injured or unwell. Council members can help by escorting students to the nurse's office or getting help quickly.

Receptionist - Manages announcements and school communication, such as using the intercom. Council members may coordinate with them to call students to the intercom.

Alongside the roles I have listed, there are other employees that can go hand and hand with the student council, such as Caretakers, Janitors, and Librarians.

SCENARIOS

While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly?

In a situation like that, I’d do my best to quietly and calmly approach the student without escalating things. I’d ask them to step away from the crowd with me so we can talk without drawing more attention. The goal would be to de-escalate the behavior without creating an even bigger distraction.
If they refuse to cooperate or keep causing a scene, I’d notify a teacher or staff member so they can step in with more authority. The key is to keep the assembly focused for the other students, while still addressing the behavior privately and respectfully. I wouldn’t want to embarrass anyone or make things worse - just restore order in a calm and controlled way.

A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do?

If a student runs away after refusing to follow directions - especially something related to the rules, the best course of action is to not chase them. Instead, I’d document what happened, where it happened, and who the student was. Then I’d report it to a teacher or staff member immediately.
Chasing them could create more chaos, and it’s safer to let staff handle it from there. As a council member, my job is to observe, report, and help keep things under control, not escalate things further. I’d also let staff know I’m available if they need a witness or follow up support.

A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns?

First, I’d listen carefully to what the teacher shares and make sure I understand the full context. If the student’s behavior seems genuinely concerning, I’d support the teacher in whatever steps they’re taking, whether it’s contacting the school counselor, alerting administration, or involving higher ups.
I’d offer to quietly check in with the student as well, if the teacher thinks that’s appropriate, to help understand if they’re going through something or just expressing themselves in a way that’s being misunderstood. Safety always comes first, but it’s important to be sensitive to what a student might be dealing with emotionally or mentally.

The main focus would be working as a team with the teacher, staying calm, and making sure the situation is handled responsibly - without jumping to conclusions but also not ignoring red flags.

A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression?

I believe students should have a voice, and peaceful protest is a valid way of expressing it, but it needs to be done responsibly. I’d start by talking to them about what they’re protesting, what message they want to send, and how they plan to organize it.
Then I’d bring the request to the proper staff or higher ups to make sure it’s approved and done in a way that’s safe and respectful. If it’s allowed, I’d work with them to pick a time and location that doesn’t interfere with classes or create unnecessary tension.

I’d also help set clear boundaries: no harassment, no blocking hallways or exits, and no vandalism. As long as it stays peaceful and well organized, I’d be proud to support their right to express themselves while also protecting the learning environment for everyone else.

A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this?

I’d handle it respectfully and calmly. First, I’d thank them for pointing it out and explain that I was following what I understood from my training. Then I’d ask for clarification or feedback, either from them or from a council leader so I can better understand where I went wrong and how to avoid doing it again.
I’m always open to learning and improving. Mistakes can happen, but what matters is how you respond to them. I’d want to make sure I’m aligned with what’s expected of me and that I’m not overstepping or creating confusion, especially in a role like this where communication matters so much.

Please provide at least one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event):

The Midnight Carnival is a school hosted after hours event that transforms the gym into a magical carnival under the stars. This event would take place during the evening (in-game time), with decorations like hanging lanterns, colorful banners, and booths.

There would be several themed booths and attractions run by both students and staff. Examples include a mini ring toss, a “mystery prize” game, cotton candy and snack stands, a simple fortune teller tent (for fun, of course), and a photo booth with props. Each booth could give out tickets that can be exchanged at a prize station.

Musical performances or talent show style acts could happen on a central stage for those who want to participate or just watch. Think of it as a relaxing night that brings everyone together outside of their usual routine. Employees and Council members would help keep things organized.

What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?:

I think what sets me apart is how much I genuinely enjoy being supportive. A lot of people want to lead - which is great! - but I’m someone who finds joy in being the one making sure everything is in place, everyone feels welcome, and no one’s left out, no matter what my role is. I’m very detail oriented, I love structure, and I’m not afraid of the small tasks that help everything come together.

Why do you want this position?:

I want this position because I feel like it fits me perfectly. I love being part of a team and doing things that actually make a difference in people’s day to day experiences. Joining the student council would give me a chance to help out on a bigger scale, I’d be proud to contribute in any way I can.

What interests you the most about student council?:

What really interests me is how the student council acts as this bridge between students and staff. It’s not just about rules, it’s about helping people, building community, and finding ways to make school life more exciting and supportive.
I love the idea of being part of something that brings students together, whether through fun events or just by helping someone who’s struggling feel seen. Getting to be someone others can count on is what excites me most.

What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?:

I’m someone who pays close attention to both people and the environment around me. If something feels off or if someone needs support, I’m usually quick to notice and step in. I’d contribute by being someone who’s always looking out for others, making sure things are positive.
I also love organizing and planning, so I’d help bring structure to events and make sure they are well coordinated while still being fun for everyone. I’d love to create spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves, and where school doesn’t just feel like school, it feels like a place where people want to be.

The council wishes you the best of luck with your application!
