TRIVIA QUESTIONS What is the student council, and what do they do?: The Student Council is a group of dedicated volunteer students who play a role of authority within the school. Their role is to help maintain order, represent the student body, and ensure that day-to-day school life runs smoothly. Council members are responsible for organizing and running events, guiding and speaking to students in need, and assisting faculty when needed. They can issue detentions for rule-breaking, providing a safer space for students. Beyond event planning, the council serves as the voice for students! They help by listening to feedback, ensuring all concerns received by students are heard; and finally suggesting and taking action with changes that may need to be made. What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.): I'm motivated to apply for council because i enjoy being involved in more meaningful roles, which helps me with not only character development but also connecting with others i wouldn't have usually done so. The position fits both my character and my interest in helping others, maintaining order and making sure roleplay is always engaging and accurate to what would happen in genuine scenarios. I enjoy working with others and being creatively involved, from helping plan events, assisting faculty, and addressing student concerns. Playing with a student council role will also open up more doors to which i can roleplay in and continue progressing in my ability to handle situations calmly. Friends who have served on the council have shared their experiences, and while knowing the role can be complicated at times, I believe I have the right motivation and mindset to handle it well both in icly and oocly! Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events): I'm completely aware! it's one of the parts of the role i'm most looking forward to! As mentioned above, i would love to take up a role in which i can be more creatively involved. I enjoy helping to brainstorm creative ideas, especially when they can bring people together and make roleplaying more enjoyable. I find teamwork to be extremely valuable, and i understand how essential it is for a group like the council to actually function well. Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?: Other important Roles:

IC SECTION SCENARIOS While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly? I would approach the student calmly and quietly to avoid drawing any extra attention, giving them a discreet verbal warning to stop the disruptive behaviour. If they continued, I would remove them from the area to prevent further interruptions and then continue by asking them what the issue is and if there was any way i could help. If i were unable to help and they continued this behaviour, i'd continue by issuing a detention. Overall, my goal would be to de-escalate the situation quickly and calmly so the rest of the assembly isn't interrupted. If the situation has escalated into anything aggressive, for example, a fight, I would separate the individuals involved, make sure anyone who has been physically injured is escorted to the nurse and then report the incident to faculty! A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do? If i knew their identity, i would instantly contact a teacher or receptionist to call them to the front desk, where i or the other staff members present could issue the detention and have the mask confiscated. If i did not know their identity then i would have to resort to relaying updated over the radio to where they could have possibly been headed or the direction within school grounds they were last seen running too, this will ensure other staff is aware of this and can help safely calm down the student and attend to this problem appropriately; i may have to resort to doing this if the student did not show up to reception after being called too. Overall, my main goal would be to ensure the safety of other students during this complication, ensure the mask is removed while following the school rules, and maintaining proper procedure! A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns? I believe speaking privately with the teacher to gather further details about this behaviour they have seen, including the appearance of the artwork, the specific threats made, and if there were any other students involved in the matter. Together, we would hand all inappropriate work to someone of higher authority to be reviewed. Next, i would get in contact with the school councilor to speak to this individual in case they may be attempting to express themself in a way deemed aggressive, therefore this behaviour could be seen in the future and must be appropriately dealt with now to ensure they don't get themselves or others hurt. This is when they can be brought to a safer space for a talk about the meaning behind these threats and the artwork, and ensure this student is okay. A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression? First, i would explain to them that i cannot personally authorize a protest, but can direct them to an SLT member to whom they can speak too. If it were approved, i would make sure to help the protest remain organised and respectful, keeping it contained well that won't disrupt any ongoing classes or block entrances to the school! A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this? To ensure i know exactly what it is i'm doing wrong, i would ask them directly what it may be. Once i have received this information, i would clarify with my council leads to ensure i am correcting my actions well and reviewing the right procedure. My main goal would be to resolve this calmly, maintaing good communication with the member of staff that i recieved this information from and ensuring i follow the correct procedure moving forward. If my higher-ups ensured i was following correct procedure to begin with, i would help communicate with the member of staff to explain, calmly, what i was told. Please provide at least one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event): Event Number One: Karakura's Got Talent! This would be a school-wide talent show where students can showcase their unique skills! This could include singing, dancing, magic tricks, comedy, poetry, or any other talent! This event can also have an educational outlook as it showcases diversity, creativity, and encourages students to participate and get to know new people! The details of this are rather simple! Leading up to the event, students will be able to sign up in advance, whether they want to perform solo or in groups! There will be 2 rounds, Semi-finals and finals, both of which can be watched by all students who wish too! The finals would have eliminated all groups or single performances down to only 3! This means these three will re-perform either a different act or one they originally performed for the semi-finals. A panel of judges that could include teachers, council members, and student reps. They will score based on creativity, skill, and audience engagement. Between acts, there could be fun mini-games and trivia to keep the audience entertained! The final awards may be 'best performance,' 'most creative,' and 'audience favorite,' and will be received once the talent show is finished! This event will allow students to express themself, build confidence, and even give small student-made bands a chance to perform infront of a crowd! Event Number Two: Karakura Time Capsule Day! This event will allow students and staff to contribute a personal message, drawing, predictions, and memorable items to a time capsule that will be sealed and opened a year or a few years later! Leading up to the event, students can create letters to their future selves, artwork or any small objects. On the day of the event, the council can host a ceremony where participants place their contributions into the capsule! During this day, speeches can be made that reflect the school's current life and hopes for the future while touching on its history! The capsule will then be buried by a few students or staff members in a secure place on the school grounds, and a planned reopening date. To keep this day engaging, activities including storytelling, where older students or members of staff can share memories and advice! And finally, all trophies and accomplishments from all sports teams or clubs will be mentioned and celebrated! This event can tie the community together across high school and college and really highlight the school's growth through the years and achievements earned! Personal Information (in character) Name: Yasmin Heydari Gender: Female Age: 18 Phone number: (030)-601-8583 How would you describe your personality?: I would describe myself as a warm and approachable person who genuinely cares about others. I'm very community-oriented and enjoy bringing people together, either by helping friends or making sure everyone feels included and heard. I'm a good listener and communicator, always ready to offer support or a kind word when needed. People often say i have a positive and calming vibe! I'm pretty outgoing and always ready to jump in with a joke or lend a hand! Appearance/attire (Please provide a picture): I'm usually in some sort of oversized cardigan and shorts during summer, but during winter my attire will purely be giant puffer jackets, the cold is my worst enemy.. ![]() What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?: I believe i can be set apart from other applicants by my genuine passion for building the community, my proactive mindset, and my creative problem-solving approach! I don't see the role as a council member as someone who just enforces discipline and hands out detentions for the sake of the role. I see it as an opportunity to create a positive change and a meaningful connection with other students within the school. I can understand people well enough to pick up on vibes and feelings others might overlook, which makes de-escalating tense situations much easier. My emotional maturity- which i can thank my mother for. . allows me to be more approachable and trusted by students. Again, my proactive mindset always keeps me thinking. Instead of waiting for problems to appear, I'm constantly thinking ahead and spotting potential issues, thinking about creative events that could bring students together and ways to encourage positive behaviour without being clumsy. My dedication means i won't skimp out and do limited council duties, I'm committed to creating an inclusive environment for every student, so they can feel seen and heard! This side of thinking makes me more than just a council member, but someone who can build a community, solve problems more efficiently, and encourage positive energy. Why do you want this position?: I genuinely believe I can help make a positive change. I want to be there as a helping hand and a voice for students who feel too timid to speak out, because i know how that used to feel; And I've grown with the help of my friends and family members to really express myself by doing the same, helping others. I owe it to myself and others to take up this position. What interests you the most about student council?: Probably noticed by the main topic of most of my other answers, it's being the voice for those who are too shy, and helping those in need. I like being the pillar others lean on and go to when they feel stuck, and I have a knack for de-escalating situations calmly, so why not put that to use? What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?: I can contribute to making the school both safe and fun by being a proactive and approachable person to whom some students feel comfortable coming to, whenever they need help or just want to chat. Safety isn't just about rules, it's also about creating an environment where everyone feels respected and heard! I want to build this kind of positive behaviour in other students through regular patrols, clear communication, and quick responses to any issues. On the fun side though! I'm very passionate about organizing creative events that encourage teamwork and hopefully de-escalating or even debolishing the tension between college and high school students that have always created a tension, especially after tournaments. . . But these events can tie the two communities together into one! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
