Walking down the street one day, you’d come across a path to a dark, secluded, and quiet corner of the forest where nothing but an old dollhouse sat in the center of a circle of trees. Upon going closer to the dollhouse, you’d notice what looked to be an envelope inside? Almost as if someone wanted for you to find it, almost as if the letter within were addressed to you specifically..

Upon opening the letter, the first thing you would notice is the age difference between the envelope and the actual letter itself, the paper inside the envelope looked over a decade old while the paper of the envelope looked only days old, as if it were just taken out of its packaging.

The letter would be written in German, once translated it would read as follows.

I was in hell. Looking at heaven.
‘To change is to abandon lineage’

Dearest ███████,

I understand your hate, your pain, the suffering you used as reason to push me off the cliff which you called a high horse. I understand your reasons, but what I don’t understand is your place, your place within this family in comparison to mine. You call yourself a pariah, the boy outcast for his views and yet I see no time when you were left unattended, I gave you everything I held dear but you show no gratitude? Do you have no shame, my child? Who am I kidding, no child of mine would abandon his lineage, his bloodline, his honor.

Robbing me of my power, my place in this family was your first mistake, and your final one at that, you may have found yourself a position where you are protected not only by your siblings but also the others whom are lucky enough to share our DNA. In admittance I took my place for granted, feeding on the fruits of others labor and justifying it through decree passed down centuries. However, I never truly received the reward I have desired my whole life, the reward I sought through revoking the livelihoods of the privileged and expendable who got in my way.

Now in light of this I must give you a fair warning, as you know from the diligent way I chose to raise you, training and engraving myself into your soul, there is no way to escape the punishment for your disobedience and betrayal. You have put me in an inescapable hell, forcing me to look up at the so-called heavens you had created in the light you created by sacrificing one of your own. You will never be able to shake the grief of your actions, harming your own blood is just as if not worse than what you did to your dear wife ████████. So as a final goodbye before I move to begin your punishment, I’d like you to remember one very small fact. You will always be a part of me, whether it be through blood or the soul I gave you.

Signed,

The letter ended with no clear explanation on who it was addressed to, nor who the wife of the recipient was. However, it would certainly be easy to connect the dots on who sent it, and afterwards every other question will become answered.
