Backstory:
Iris Hakye was born in Seoul, South Korea to her bilingual parents, her father Jeongyen who speaks Korean and English, and her mother Tasmaki who speaks English and French. She also had an older sister named Tsumaki and a younger sister named Celine. Jeongyen taught Tsumaki Korean while Tasmaki taught Celine French. However, when Iris was born both parents taught her English if they ever decided to move to America to live near Tasmaki's friends one day. Growing up, Iris had a rich childhood. She had a personal butler that was 2 years older than her named Fabio who made her bed, combed her hair, prepared her tea, and made sure she got ready for the day. They both went to school together and he still had to keep watch of her there since her father is very protective of his daughters. If she had a huge bodyguard always following her around it would scare the other children. Fabio took care of Iris as if she was his little sister and Iris looked up to him as if he was her big brother.
One day, Iris caught her father speaking in a different language while on the phone. She sometimes heard her older sister speaking the language and asked her to teach her the language. Tsumaki denied her request because she was busy making plans. Iris then decided to ask her father to teach her the language and when he tried to say no, he gave in to her puppy eyes face and agreed to teach her. After many lessons and studying the Korean language, she was finally able to speak it fluently. She surprised Fabio with the new language she learned and Fabio smiled being so proud of her. She then went up to Tsumaki talking to her in Korean and it caught her off guard. She was happy that she can finally talk to one of her sisters without struggling to communicate with her in English.
Iris and her family decided to visit the Hakye estate where they will meet their cousins and uncles and aunts. This is where they usually have banquets, parties celebrating a child's birth, or even just a reunion. Iris was finally going to meet the rest of her huge family and was excited. Once arrived, she was escorted by Fabio into the main entrance. Inside, there were huge blossom trees and a variety of flowers that were aligned on either side of the pathway making it look like a blossom tree forest. The estate almost looked like a castle from where they stood. The 'forest' inhabited many small animals and insects from butterflies to squirrels and birds. The family walked all the way to the mansion while the daughters looked at their surroundings taking in all the beauty that surrounded the estate. As they entered through the doors of the estate they were welcomed by over 40 maids and butlers each giving the family a warm smile.
At the stairwell were another Hakye family, Lily, and Mirva, the two main daughters of the Hakye family. Lily looked a bit older probably Fabio age and Mirva looked to be Iris age. Iris and her sisters greeted them by bowing and picking up their dresses with their fingertips. Another family of Hakye was present in the room, Sid and Debroah, the third set of the Hakye family. You could tell that Sid was the oldest while Deborah was the youngest due to their height. There were also two men that were our uncles, Uncle Katsuo, as he would seem more mature and classy and Uncle Ric, seeming to be the less mature one. After introductions were over, the entire Hakye family sat down for lunch. All the maids and butlers prepared the table and food in a very swift manner. The dining room was elegant and the chairs and table itself were made of gold as well as the chandelier. Iris and her sisters were able to spend time with their cousins and play in the garden and had a wonderful time.

When Iris turned 15, Fabio had to assist a different family now that she was able to take care of herself. It was a sad goodbye as Iris really looked up to Fabio as her big brother and had a very close relationship with him. In high school, she became a council member along with her best friend Autumn. She was very popular due to her kindness and humor. She took a liking to bake, writing, and teaching. She thought of possibly opening her own bakery one day. But it was her last year in Seoul so it wouldn't work out. She thought about making her own books. However, it won't be enough time for her to write and plan out a whole volume then get them all printed. As for teaching she thought it would be a wonderful thing so she studied her teachers and their strategies. When Jeongyen heard that the main Hakyes moved to Karakura, Japan last year he also wanted to move there to stay close to family. After the year was over, Iris had to say her goodbyes to her friends including Autumn. It was a new chapter in her life and more opportunities to live her dreams. First, learning how to read, write, and speak Japanese. Then, making new friends at Karakura High and participating in school events. Finally, setting her dreams in motion with the help of her friends and family support.
