Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
I believe that teachers are essential toward the roleplay environment for SchoolRP because, as the name of the server suggests, the server is attempting to deliver an authentic and immersive academic roleplay experience and that wouldn’t be complete without those who volunteer to step up and teach classes, activities, etc. If SchoolRP did not have teachers, then there would be very few activities to do on a daily basis at the school as a student which would take away from that experience significantly.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes

In-Character Section ⊹₊˚‧︵‿₊୨ᰔ୧₊‿︵‧˚₊⊹

What's your character's full name?: Ryoka Sasaki
What is your character's nationality?: Japanese
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Maths

Describe your character:
Ryoka Sasaki is a 29 year old woman with a sweet and gentle demeanour. She has long black hair, fair skin, and piercing brown eyes. She stands at roughly 5’5” and her words are spoken with much excitement, filling the room with that same energy as she finds that teaching is much easier when having the students involved in some way. As such, students find her to be a refreshing experience as instead of simply listening, they do and that is what she always will promote in her classroom. Her goal would be to make her classroom feel like a safe and inviting space for all students to ask questions, receive answers, and understand their goals for the future.

What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
In the classroom, Ryoka Sasaki always takes great strides to help her students as much as possible, as such, she treats them with respect and always encourages good actions, while discouraging poor actions. She treats them not as people underneath her, but as future equals of society, trying to give them the best chances for success in their future. She took this job because she loves the potential within every single student, and wants to do the best she can to bring out that potential in unique and interesting ways.

For her fellow co-workers, she tries her best to socialize with them and work alongside them for her goals to better the environment and of everyone together. She takes great care in listening to others, and speaking when needed so she doesn’t overburden those who need a moment.

What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Ryoka Sasaki, whilst growing up, never had good luck with her teachers. She found them to be disinterested, or otherwise bored whilst doing her jobs. She made many mistakes in her early life due to this lack of guidance, which almost set her down a much different and much worse path. Seeing the error of her ways, she put much effort in course correction and during her adult years, worked towards being a teacher.

She knows that every student has potential, and in order to achieve that they need to understand how the world works, which is why she chose maths as her main subject. A lot of jobs require maths, and life itself requires maths with understanding your finances, budgeting, etc, which is going to be a staple of many of her classes for younger people, general application of mathematics in everyday life being essential.

Roleplay Scenarios ⊹₊˚‧︵‿₊୨ᰔ୧₊‿︵‧˚₊⊹

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Ryoka Sasaki believes in a practical approach when helping students understand the material that she is attempting to teach. If a student is visibly struggling either verbally or non-verbally, she’d provide an example to the whole class as they may not be the only one struggling. For example, if she’s teaching about budgeting then she would give an example of a safe budget with the limitations of the framework provided.

She wouldn’t be dismissive or indifferent, she’d be patient and reassuring. If they continue to struggle after that, then she’d even offer a guide for the student to work on at-home, bringing several copies of guides and lesson summaries to any student who needs it for her classes. To her, study is essential to a healthy and understanding mind.

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Ryoka Sasaki is patient, to an extent. If it comes to other students being disruptive, impeding on other student’s ability to learn in the classroom then she is understanding, perhaps the student has friends in the class, but she’d also be firm by giving warnings like “Okay! No more talking, you two-” If it’s addressed to a couple of students, “Or else you’ll be asked to leave my class!”. If they continue, then Ryoka would be forced to remove them from the class so she can focus on the students who are interested and willing to learn the material that she is providing on that day.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:

Colors & Division

The students will be provided with a large set of colourful cotton sheets alongside a book with instructions. The book will outline the necessity and give examples of simple division. The students will be instructed to, with the instructions, lay out enough wool sheets on their table to ensure that there are "25% of Red, 35% of Green, 20% of Purple, and 20% of Blue." The students will need to set that up and write it down in the book with how many red, green, purple and blue sheets they chose to lay out to achieve this result. A way to achieve this result would be through laying out twenty sheets with 5 Red (25%), 7 Green (35%), 4 Purple (20%), and 4 Blue (20%). The instructions would be laid out clearly in their books which they can bring with them for the homework task of doing the same but with one hundred sheets and breaking it up into seven colours instead of the four which was done in the class. The reason for this class idea is that mathematical deduction with simplicity would be really beneficial for this subject, and while mathematics as a whole can be more of a difficult curve for SchoolRP in particular, it's essential to leave it immersive but simple.

Budgeting & Learning Finances

A set of books will be prepared prior to the class which will have different case scenarios of, "A software engineer is looking to set up a budget for his monthly spending and earnings-". To make it more of a group activity, two of the books will be the same through and through so the students sitting next to someone in the classroom will be able to work together to tackle the task. An example of one of the tasks would be:

"A software engineer is looking to set up a finance sheet with his new job in the city. He is earning a stable income and with all of his expenses, he would like to find out how much money he has remaining at the end of each month."

"Monthly Income: ¥300,000"

"To find out how much he is spending, you'll need to subtract the following from his monthly income,"
"Rent: ¥120,000"
"Food: ¥35,000"
"Utilities: ¥45,000"
"Car Payments: ¥50,000"

"Monthly Earnings (Result): "

Each book will have two case scenarios after a discussion about the importance of safe budgeting and finance with books or sheets like this. The homework which would be assigned would be a case scenario in which an individual is in a deficit and it will be up to the student to determine the level of importance on a list of spending.
