APPLICATION INFORMATION
What position are you applying for?:
Judge
What is your motivation for applying?:
My interest in criminal justice and the legal system in general, considering the steps a real case takes from law enforcement to the courts, is what attracted me to apply. I am fortunate to have close friends who are majoring in those fields, and they have helped me understand the various career paths available to law and criminal justice students. I've researched open SRP court cases, and I've been fascinated by the current SRP government faction’s level of attention to detail, particularly when it came to being given the chance to attend a trial Icly.
I used to think that the judges in the SRP were only there to preside over court hearings, but I've since learned that they do much more than that. They have the authority to issue warrants, attend trials and even issue marriage licenses. Compared to what I had initially assumed for an SRP Judge, it has a far wider range of responsibilities than those I mentioned. It's wonderful to see the incorporation of what real judges do on a daily basis oocly, which is why its dynamic workflow full of chances peeked my interest greatly. I do wish to be able to uphold the integrity and realism of the government faction on SRP through my position as judge.
Do you have an understanding of Karakura’s laws & Constitutional rights?:
Yes, I do have an understanding of Karakura’s laws and constitutional rights.
What are your goals for being in Government Faction?:
I have no other goals other than to provide good, meaningful interactions opportunities to those that might interact with my character if I were to become a judge and I would like to dive deeper, contributing what I can to this wonderful community. Whether it’s getting to meet new people everyday or coming together to work on responsibilities I may be given, I would like to get the depth of how the Karakura government functions and it’s beyond the scenes.
In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction:
Lawyers | Governers | Judges |
Lawyers carry weighted responsibilities given the main role they play. Their work is based on being public facing given they cater towards those that need to be represented whether for a crime or claim. They attend trials, communicate with clients, attend meetings and file restraining order motions. When available, they also work the front desk. | Governors act as the branch between the public and the government, they survey the public and inspect local shops to ensure up to date regulations. Additionally, they give out ID’s for public safety and identification purposes for security clearance/access. | Judges complete responsibilities slightly similar to a governor, they can approve adoption papers, issue warrants, officialize marriages, but when in the court room, they review case information from the cases they are assigned. They essentially act as the “head” of the courtroom. |
Do you acknowledge that upon being accepted you can be subject to removal at any given time?:
Yes, I do acknowledge that I can be subject to removal at any time after my acceptance.
Have you read & agreed to follow the Government Faction rules?:
I have read and do agree to follow the government faction rules.
