Describe your activity:
My schedule is quite manageable despite how busy I might seem on the outside. I am a student — my school hours range from 8 AM to 3:25 PM. Outside of that, I have color guard practice on Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM. I would say I am active on SRP whenever I get the chance. This is because I am a member of KPD and hold high roles within multiple families on SRP, urging me to log on whenever possible. This does not mean I am not free to write whenever given the chance, however!
I have provided a table below. The top row represents times I am busy, while the bottom shows when I am typically free to play SRP.

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
My motivations for joining the reporter faction are simple. If I were to put everything into just a few words, I love writing. I am interested in bringing light to different situations — some chaotic, many captivating.
As for a far longer explanation, I have had a lifelong desire for everything regarding literature. I excel when it comes to putting my words on paper and documents. I struggle speaking in real life which has hindered my ability to properly communicate with my peers, so I have long since resorted to pen, paper, and keyboard.
Aside from indulging in composition, I want to build on a character that I have come to adore! One that I have put countless hours into developing both psychologically and through ICly means. Joining this faction would mean more than just words to me. I would be able to further grow as a creator, and I look forward to such.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
Oh, do I.
I first began finding interest in writing at the age of nine. Ever since then, I can’t seem to quit. I am writing every hour of the day, constantly finding new ways to incorporate different factors, whether that be psychological, literal, or fictional. My first writing experience began on Amino, which brings back memories now that I am taking the time to think back. I was roleplaying left and right for about a year until I made my way to Discord servers, where I met some of my closest friends today.
Since then, I have grown and expanded my vocabulary as well as my creative ability.
My second SRP anniversary is on the horizon. I have since been a lawyer, detective, and bobcat footballer. I would say that I am grateful for these experiences and have grown confident in my capabilities when it comes to literature. I am progressing day by day, and I see no signs of stopping.
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
I am fully aware of the rules provided and will follow them all during my time as a reporter.
Why should we accept you over others?:
I do recognize that I have my pros and cons as both a person and a writer. This does not mean that I am not fit for what will be thrown at me, though! I am an incredibly hard worker with a determination that seems to outshine most, heavily recognized by many people in my life. While I don’t view myself as an applicant that is superior to others… I do see myself as somebody who continues to grow and works around hard stops. This brings me to my next point — deadlines. I work well when it comes to them. Deadlines assist me in writing faster with a quality piece by the time I am finished.
I am proud of my illustrative ability as well. If something is not visually pleasing, people often find themselves not wanting to continue reading, which is entirely understandable. This is why I have taken the time to somewhat perfect my skills in this department.
As a whole, I find myself to be a well-rounded person with an open mindset.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Yes. I understand that I must stay entirely neutral! We create reports to bring awareness to situations, allowing readers to form their own opinions.
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
I trust that I will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota! If I can do it for KPD, I will surely be able to do it for the reporter faction.
Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
I imagine working as a reporter to be quite a demanding job, all while fun! I’ve been around enough reporters to understand that everyone is quite the character—dark and mysterious or wannabe alpha male. All that aside, though... I know that reporters must pay incredible attention to detail when it comes to creating and producing reports. The majority of a reporter's work falls into the hands of our forums, which is expected, but that doesn’t mean they cannot be active on SRP. It takes playtime and experience to write a properly interesting report with a hook! Gathering information is also quite the task. Interviewing well-rounded adults to angsty teenagers (euuurmm...) and athletes with inflated egos tends to give people some weird form of whiplash.
IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it
Xiyang-Thorne would be found sitting comfortably in a chair across from the one she assumed belonged to her interviewer.
Her head subtly turned towards the door as she heard it creak open - her body now slightly tense. She relaxed when she noticed that it was only the man set to interview her, and her eyes narrowly followed as he sat down.

(ART BY PANICPRINCE)
Báihe Xiyang-Thorne was a seemingly put-together woman. Dark hair with occasional strands of blue sapphire, perfectly framing her sharp face. Her micro bangs are certainly a talking point... not mentioning her lack of eyebrows! That aside, her eyes were tinted dark brown, and they seemed to pool into the interviewer's gaze tiredly. Her outfit was nothing short of professional for an interview: a white shirt beneath a black waistcoat.
A silver wedding ring graced her left ring finger, which perfectly brought the silver piercings on her face into play.
Full Name:
The Raven blinked a time or two until she realized that the interviewer sat before her, having already taken the liberty of asking her a question. Shooting up within her chair, she shot the man a light grin.
"Báihe Xiyang-Thorne, sir."
Xiyang then reaches out a hand. She aimed to shake the interviewer's hand, wanting to provide a proper first impression.
Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
Thorne spins the ring on her finger round and round, slowly easing back into her seat. Her eyes flickered between her interviewer and her hand, picking at worn nail polish.
"You can jus’ call me Báihe, I don’t prefer formalities." — "Well, if we’re around strangers, I prefer Xiyang. This town is insane."
Current Age (25+):
Xiyang hesitates for a moment too long. All things irritating her in life accounted for, she practically forgot just how old she was. Thorne counted in her head.
"I should be 25."
Past job/work experience:
This question was one she had been dreading. She had no proper answer — nothing legal, anyhow. Adjusting her position, her legs crossed, and she combed a hand swiftly through her black hair, streaks of sapphire blue intertwining throughout.
"Up until this point, I was a stay-at-home mom. I do not entirely have past work experience in figurative writing, but that doesn’t mean my love for gathering information and putting it on paper is lost. In college I focused on meeting new people, improving my social skills, and… oddly enough, keeping files on them."
That sounds weird, doesn’t it?
"I mean - just know that I will give it my all to protect my peers, and I will do my job to the best of my ability."
Degree/qualifications:
Thorne perked right back up when this question arose. She took her degrees and qualifications with pride, and that much was apparent just through her expression.
"I’ve been waiting for this one, ma... I mean, sir."
Scratch, scratch...embarrassing!
"I obtained my bachelor's degree at twenty, which is a big deal for me, as I am the first of my family to attend and graduate from college. I majored in criminology with minors in psychology and communications."
Nationality and born location:
Xiyang-Thorne rubs her wrist, the cool, calloused touch of her hands offering familiar comfort.
"I am Chinese. I was born in the Xuhui District of Shanghai, China."
Phone Number:
“(030)-987-3276. It should be on the card I gave you earlier.”
How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
Wasting no time, Báihe got to thinking. There was much more to her than she originally thought, and she didn’t want to come off as an overzealous … prick?
Tap, tap, tap… that was a sound that the interviewer would learn to grow unphased by.
"I would say that I’m a social individual, of course, motivated by the drama and pressure of life. I am a family-oriented person but typically aim to work alone when it comes to tasks I believe I excel at, protecting my peers whenever given the chance."
That was a good start in her head. A strong, independent woman with proper values.
"When you get to know me, I’m a relaxed person. I don’t see a need to be energetic, especially when I have to focus. I guess that’s all, though? …I have a keen eye and sharp thinking skills, too."
What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
Her entire life was spent going outside her comfort zone to experience the factors of our world. If not around others, her days are spent exploring and seeking new beginnings, even if not ideal.
"To answer your first question, I find intensive reports pretty interesting when given the time to read them from start to finish. Reports on upcoming threats are thrilling—not to mention new townwide events, but that doesn’t mean I’m not willing to turn a page and start something that I’ve never tried before."
Where are you going if you don’t take the time to take a step forward? Staying in one repetitively boring place all your life?
"I’m entirely open to stepping outside my comfort zone. I have done it time and time again, which is why I am where I am today." — "My entire life has been spent thinking outside the box and moving forward, looking for more. I don’t see any signs of stopping."
What are your expectations for the job?:
"I expect freedom. I'm open to reporting on something if someone ranked higher than me asks, but I prefer having creative control of my words, both verbal and on paper. Beyond that, my son — not to mention family — keeps me on my toes. I expect the same here. It's comforting in a way, though it also means I'm already used to whatever chaos might come. It won’t distract or deter me."
Her lips took the liberty of kissing her teeth.
"As for income, I have no issues or expectations. My husband is also at work full-time and we are living comfortably."
Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
The jagged-edged woman adjusted her fringe.
"This shocks me to say, but I’ve managed to keep my record clean! I can’t say the same for my family. I don’t plan on joining their little gangster lifestyle anytime soon, though. I’m a wife and a mother."
A small huff started a quick laugh — more of a hah — before she settled back down.
Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
Three fingers shot just in front of the tired-eyed woman. For each language she listed, a different finger bent before straightening back up.
"Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish."
Her hand then fell back into her lap.
PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)
#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.
Upon clicking play on the playback video recording, static crowded the systems of sound, little microphones attached to the table.

Xiyang: "My name is Baihe Xiyang-Thorne. Thank you all for tuning in! I have brought here today a retired detective from the Karakura Police Department to further expand on my earlier report - We Want Justice. Would you care to introduce yourself?"
???: "I don't see why not. I am Mr. Enomoto, retired detective for the Karakura Police Department, as aforementioned in Xiyang's opening statement."
Xiyang: "Thank you for sitting with me so willingly t'day, Enomoto. Looking back on your time within the force, are you able to describe the relationship between the KPD and the people in your own words?"
Mr. Enomoto: "Of course. I believe that relationships between law enforcement and citizens have grown strained over the years. I've noticed misunderstanding both during my time as a detective and as a citizen, which commonly leads to feelings such as resentment and anger. I have also noted that these feelings lead to violence in this town, which is truly a sad realization."
Xiyang: "Violence is a common act in this town, I agree. This is why tension is ever rising. Did you ever notice any moments of distrust or distress during your time on the force? Anything you can note while sitting here today?"
Mr. Enomoto: "Admittedly, yes. Oftentimes, we officers are only following protocol, but citizens have a hard time understanding that. Even so, these faults - moments of distrust - have even been mine a time or two! We do not mean for that to be the outcome, but what's a man to do when he's only following what he was taught?"
Xiyang: "I know where you're comin' from. Not many people in this town are keen on seeing eye-to-eye. Because of this, citizens say officers are quick to act on suspicion instead of evidence. What are your thoughts on this?"
Mr. Enomoto: "I simply don't agree. While I can't expose our training methods, I can say that is not what the Karakura Police Department aims to do."
Xiyang: "Good answer, Enomoto. Do ya' think the increase in crime rates is only because of rebellion, or do ya' think there's a deeper meaning that isn't bein' accounted for?"
Mr. Enomoto: "I try my best. I do believe there is something other than just rebellion against law enforcement. Not all officers are cruel, even if that treatment is often displayed in little cartoons or unrealistic shows. People do have problems with other citizens that often lead to crime, you know."
Xiyang: "I've seen such firsthand, Enomoto. I appreciate your honesty. As mentioned in my report, people are scared ta' call 110 in fear they will not receive quick care... and/or immediate attention. Do you have any advice for citizens with this kinda' mindset?"
Mr. Enomoto: "Oh, absolutely." Enomoto shifts his attention to the camera. This was to address the viewers directly! "I do still urge you all to call 110 in cases of emergency. It might seem useless, but officers must respond promptly, and many do truly wish to protect and serve our wonderful community. This does not mean that I do not believe the Karakura Police Department shouldn't address why citizens feel this way, because there is always a reason for every action, no matter the severity or impact. In the meantime, please document incidents if possible in the case that officers do not respond on time."
Xiyang: "We appreciate your insight, Mr. Enomoto! Documentation sounds like the perfect temporary solution. With the way things 're looking, people have come to think that the Karakura Police Department is overwhelmed... and perhaps frightened? Do you believe the KPD is adequately staffed, as well as equipped with the correct knowledge to properly carry out their duties and respond to calls promptly?"
Mr. Enomoto: "The police department, while I was employed, aimed to maintain a full staff, with all officers undergoing weeks of training to ensure zero mishaps. Still, that hasn’t deterred citizens from targeting groups with cadets. To answer your second question... yes. Officers mainly attempt to promptly respond to calls, but not many officers are often on duty to respond."
Xiyang: "The people of Karakura have been demanding that officers take accountability and recognize their wrongdoings for the longest time, Mr. Enomoto. Do you firmly believe that changes within both our main and detective departments can be made to reform?"
Mr. Enomoto: "Yes. I have tried to advocate for change, but developing a new normal takes quite a while. Officers are asked to keep an open mindset specifically because of this. Both the detective and main divisions of the KPD undergo constant change."
Xiyang: "Mm... advocating is something everyone enjoys seeing, especially when it comes down to the better of the people as a whole. As a follow-up, Enomoto, what’s one misconception about police work that you wish the public understood? This is your chance to correct common stereotypes and educate the people of today."
Mr. Enomoto: "Thank you, Xiyang. Much appreciated. I believe people often misconceive an officer's quickness to abuse their power and force their way into misconduct." His voice trailed, and a hand rose to rub the bridge of his nose. A common misconception he has been subjected to time and time again. "All officers, alongside detectives, are strongly guided against abuse of power. No officer wants to be outcast for corruption."
Xiyang: "Understood, and duly noted. Similar question... officers say they are only following protocol, but citizens argue that these 'protocols' are flawed. Do ya' think the department’s policies need to be reformed?"
Mr. Enomoto: "I do not believe that the department's protocols need to be reformed. Even if citizens deem them odd or flawed, everything has been thought out and somewhat perfected. It is only when people resist that they begin to have a problem, which baffles me."
Xiyang: "Right... alright, Mr. Enomoto. Some citizens argue that officers prioritize their safety over the people's. How would you respond to that perception? Is it true, or are these just the accusations of overzealous citizens?"
Mr. Enomoto: "This is mostly true. Depending entirely on the situation, officers are trained to ultimately prioritize life over all. Protect and serve will forever be the department's motto, but safety overrides any claims that are made. It takes time to find replacements, and an injured officer is the last thing occupied divisions need."
Xiyang: "I see where you're coming from. Do you believe Karakura's relationship with its Police Department can return to one of trust? If not, do you believe we are too far gone to attempt a comeback?"
Mr. Enomoto: "Do I believe we can reinstate a relationship? Yes, I do. No matter how much time it may take - I see a future where the Karakura Police Department and the citizens of Karakura coexist. It might not entirely diminish violence, but I imagine rates of crime will decrease some."
Xiyang: "Before we wrap things up, Enomoto, if you could speak directly to the people of Karakura who feel mistreated, what would you say to them? Is there any advice you might be able to provide for the public?"
Mr. Enomoto: "My advice for the public would be to listen, but trust your gut. Resisting arrest is a commonly dished out sentence which can easily be prevented with cooperation and respect. If you believe that an officer is wrongly patting you down or displaying injustice, please wait until after they are finished to say something. This avoids unnecessary charges. Whether you are being pat down, detained, or arrested, you will always have the opportunity to speak to someone about what you think is right. Non-guilty pleas are now free, so don't be afraid to trek down that road. Justice will always be served."
Xiyang-Thorne nods in response. With an outstretched arm, she shook Enomoto's hand firmly before sitting back in her chair.
Xiyang: "Thank you for the time you've given me t'day, Enomoto. Both your advice and perspective have given us insight into what is truly going on. Reporting from Karakura, this has been Baihe Xiyang-Thorne with Karakura News!"
With a short wave to the camera from Xiyang, the video ended abruptly at 21:03.
