Earlier this month on July 2nd, what many had called a normal typical day in Karakura quickly turned sour for many as commotion broke out at the main entrance to the shopping district.
When citizens arrived to see what the commotion was about they were greeted with a demolition crew and a large excavator blocking the district's main entrance and road. But Karakura Citizens were not the only ones met with surprise at the sudden show up. Mayor Nicole Brown came to see what the commotion was, soon escalating to yelling at the demolition crew that they were not due for another week and that they needed to halt with their tasks till then. When the demolition crew refused saying they were meant to start then not the following week, Nicole attempted to argue for a short period of time before leaving the situation, turning to Onrain to make a sudden announcement no one expected.
Posted to the Karakura Government’s official Onrain account, Nicole Brown made a total of four posts. The first of the series of posts stated that she would be quitting the position of Mayor for the city and ultimately leave the mess to be sorted by the rest of the townhall officials and KPD along with the citizens of Karakura as a whole to deal with and clean up. The following three posts stated from herself that she had been using taxpayer money to build golden statues of her family, she was sorry, and that she believed she was rage baiting citizens. All of these posts occurred while town hall workers and KPD officers worked to figure out the situation at hand, while the demolition crew began tearing down the shopping district with the excavator. According to Lawyer Osaki Mori, KPD and townhall workers alike were left in a state of confusion while KPD worked on crowd control to keep citizens safe and town hall workers dealt with the influx of people wishing to sue and both dealt with the high emotions from citizens.
Over a week has now passed from that fiasco, and coming of it is a newly renovated shopping district that contains shops that are now their own stand alone buildings, market stands, separate pent houses and apartment blocks, smaller parks and trails, a parking garage, among many other things to be discovered in the new area. And it would seem now that the initial emotions of the situation have calmed, though it was sky high for many days, people of Karakura are already making use of the newly redone shopping district. Shops are re-opening, people are moving into newly done apartments, I have even seen people taking advantage of the new parks spread through the district. But that isn’t the only new thing to occur. A post was made on July 10th stating Nicole Brown was removed from her position and a new Mayor of Karakura will be taking office within the next week.
