Introduction

-
With the fairly recent grand-opening of the Okamoto Dealership and Garage, the vehicles for sale has been updated as well, one of these vehicles are the iconic widebody Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X - Final Edition, however this time, Mr. Okamoto has collaborated with an unexpected Karakuran Company to bring the Mitsubishi to a special specification.
Nirmala: Streamliner Auto Group is the name of the Sub-Company, the same parent company of the Sunglasses and Accessories you found mostly in Sayonara Gift Shop, The Streamliner Auto Group was established in the early 2020s, and aims to give automobile enthusiast an option to turn their cars into something extra, while still providing a warranty and spare parts for service.

Let’s revisit the history of the Okamoto Dealership’s Lancer Evo X briefly, It has been on sale at the Okamoto Dealership since the late 2010s, and at first It was simply a Factory Spec with a Widebody added to it, but now with the Okamoto Dealership being moved to the Itsbyoshi Station, Mr. Okamoto decided to partner up with SAG to bring the long for sale Lancer to a new better light. With the recent redesign and retune, the Sporty Sedan saw increase in Power from the Factory Spec of 303 Horsepower to a much more suitable 465 Horsepower thanks to a Cat Back Exhaust, Bigger turbo with a higher boost, New Manifold and Intake and many more. The car also comes with a configurable KW Clubsports suspension system that owners can configure to their car’s needs. It is not recommended for owners to use the car for Rally Purposes, as the Suspension system chosen is to be used for Road and Track driving, and the Widebody kit significantly lowers the car’s ground clearance, making it expensive in the case that it breaks during a Rally attempt.

The lancer has also been fitted with numerous improvements to its interior, making it feel more luxurious than most performance builds of the same car from other tuning companies. It has been fitted with Android Head Unit, improved air conditioning, OEM Recaro seats with a custom made 3-point harness seat belt.

According to the Dealership owner Mr. Tetsuo Okamoto and the Director of the SAG, They believed that the beloved Sport Sedan has now been turned into a daily driveable track weapon, capable of launching from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 Seconds, and a top speed of 273 km/h, However owners can try to gain more straight line speed by removing the rear spoiler that comes as standard with the car, some estimated a top speed of just about 318 km/h, This does cause the sedan to suffer in the corner though, as the rear spoiler is custom made by SAG for optimal downforce and cornering capability.

With a price tag of ¥1,250,000. It is quite the bang for your buck.

Specifications

-
  1. Power Output: 465 Horsepower @ 448 ft-lb of Torque
  2. Weight: 3,033 lb (1,375 kg)
  3. Power : Weight ratio: 0.3334 hp/kg
  4. 0 - 100 km/h (60 mp/h): 3.2 - 3.7 Seconds
  5. Quarter mile time: 11.7 Seconds
  6. Nirmala test track time: 1:16.492 | Best lap: 1:14.128

Conclusion

-
With a very instantaneous throttle response and lack of turbo lag, the Lancer’s added aerodynamic makes it super smooth and super planted on the corner, finishing at a time of 1.16.492 from a stand-still, It beats the previous car we covered (Alan Jackson’s Hellcat) by mere microseconds, the Challenger having a time of 1:16.978. It also decimated the stock 2020 Toyota GR A90 time, making it our fastest car around the track so far. The handling itself is heavenly, I find myself throwing this thing into a corner and it would still bite and go around it very quickly. However the lack of power is definitely a problem in the straight.

Notable Characteristics

-
With how the Mitsubishi tuned the All-Wheel drive system of the Lancer Evo X to an all-time 50:50 Power Distribution, this one has been changed to have a 65:35 Distribution which makes it understeer less without sacrificing traction on different terrains, we tested the car on dirt roads and the test proves that while not the best, It definitely can conquer winter and dirt paths quite easily.

Rating

  • 9.3/10

A fantastic score for an otherwise fantastic car, the Collaboration between Mr. Okamoto and Nirmala’s Tuning Division had turned the beloved Lancer Evo X into an improved version, and of course If that’s not enough for some of you readers, It retained it’s modular nature and can be tuned to your own liking rather easily.

Next Vehicle Review Hint: While inherently boring, It's got some serious teutonic engineering in it.
