The Happy Pills Pharmacy is the only Pharmacy in Karakura today. Happy Pills gives everything you need from legal to carry items too prescription goods, and is apart and managed by the Karakura Hospital staff!
In the old hospital, Happy Pills used to be directly located right as you walk into the hospital. However, that is no longer the case. Instead now you’re greeted with friendly faces at the front desk. Typically, you can approach one of them, ask to purchase something and you'll be brought around to Happy Pills. The pharmacy is located closer to the stairs and elevator, therefore it's convenient for medical staff who just finished up an appointment to just walk right down the stairs and be right where they need to be to get their patient’s prescription and or medication.
All hospital staff have access to the pharmacy, no matter their rank, position and so on. Though, their rank does determine what they can and can't do. Generally, the majority of hospital staff can sell you what you need if the item doesn't need a prescription .. but what happens if it does
An often issue at the hospital is going up to the counter only to learn you cannot purchase the intended medication or item.. But why? Well this can be for one of three reasons: the item isn't in stock, you do not have a prescription, or the person is yet to be qualified to sell prescription items.. But how do you know if that person isn't qualified?
Depending on your position in the hospital, you'll wear a specific uniform. And depending on you rank, you'll also wear a specific uniform. Some ranks, cannot sell you prescription items, nor can they prescribe such. This rank is residents, who are newly hired to the hospital. Now some residents are faster speed then others, and may be able to do more then others of the same position if given special permission - however one thing they guaranteed cannot be doing majority of the time is prescribing items, or selling prescriptions either. This is because they have yet to be qualified or trained to read and write out the prescription.

How do prescriptions work | what is a prescription
A prescription is a pamphlet provided by the hospital, specifically a hospital worker to a patient whom need ones. Inside will list all the general information, such as what it is, who it belongs to, patient information, what's being prescribed, how much of said prescription,
As discussed earlier, Residents cannot prescribe items.. However, there are also additional limitations for other hospital staff when it comes to prescriptions that have yet to be mentioned.
Some prescription medication, or items, can only be prescribed by Doctors, and some can only be prescribed by Psychiatrists. That's why above in the chart of items, some are labeled with [Doctor] while others are labeled with [Psychiatrist]. Just because both can sell you the items at Happy Pills after you receive the prescription, does NOT mean they can be the one who prescribes the actual medication or item itself.

As you can see, the first page is simply speaking about the legality of the prescribed items. This is because some items the pharmacy offers are illegal to carry with you unless you have that prescription. The next page is all about the patient and who they are. The third is where it states where the item or medication is, and how much should be there. Next is the symptoms, straightforwardly stating what the patient’s symptoms are and explains why they have this prescription. Second to last page states the clinic’s name of whom is prescribing these, which is the Karakura Hospital of course and it also states the expiration dates. It's also good to note the ‘liable for renewal’ section as this will show a medical professional if you can get a renewal of said item. Lastly, the last page speaks about who is prescribing and writing this prescription.
