Today, I went to the well-known cat cafe, Kiku Dokyo. I will be reviewing each item based on its taste, as well as reviewing the store on customer service, and the overall experience I had there.
FOOD
STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE
★★★★★
Kiku Dokyo is best known for its drinks and desserts, so that is what I bought. This strawberry milkshake was very refreshing to drink, and I enjoyed its texture. Although not very complicated, it was delicious, nonetheless.
BUNNY PANCAKES
★★★★★
These were amazing pancakes. I ate them up instantly! They were cloudy and sweet, with an adorable little bunny formed with what looked like fondant on the top. I loved the flavor so much and would eat it over and over again if I had enough money.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
★★★★★
The service was amazing. The servers were quick on their feet and extremely dandy and kind to me! They even got my cat back when some creep stole it from the restaurant!
EXPERIENCE OVERALL
★★★★★
The experience was amazing. The food was good, the service was good, and the animals were so fun! Originally, there were no animals there, but then I was pleasantly surprised when animals popped up. I would recommend this restaurant when you're hungry and need a quick bite to eat or want to brighten your day by petting animals!
RYU - "Will you state your name for the audience?"
CKM - "Chiaki Koji Masuo."
RYU - "And you are the owner of Karakura's one and only Cat Cafe, Kiku Dokyo?"
CKM - "I am indeed!"
RYU - "It's a pleasure to have you here!"
RYU - "I'm going to ask you a couple of questions about yourself, and your restaurant, if that's all good with you."
CKM - "That's perfectly fine with me."
RYU - "Alright, first, what inspired you to create a cat cafe in the first place?"
CKM - "Many reasons. There are many stray animals in Karakura, and tying that in with my passion for owning a shop, I decided to combine the two. I get to own a shop and sell things I love while also providing shelter and food to stray animals; if people like the cats, they're free to adopt them if they're homeless too!"
RYU - nodded.
RYU - "What is your favorite food item from Kiku Dokyo's menu?"
CKM - "Uh, there's so many! I think my overall favourite has to be the bunny pancakes. They're a perfect treat and also look really cute too."
RYU - "Me too!"
RYU - "So tell me, do you own any animals?"
CKM - "I do not, unfortunately. People call me a crazy cat lady even though I don't actually own any animals."
RYU - "Do you know why so many shops are owned by Masuo family members?
RYU - "I has always intrigued Me."
RYU - "Is your family just a business family? Is there a rivalry, or is it just a coincidence?"
CKM - "I think it's just coincidence honestly. But we're pretty big on business, I'm sure. Choei is the one who's been there the longest."
RYU - "Hm, interesting." She leaned in. "Is there any rivalry? Well. I'm assuming there is since some of you are in the same type of business as each other.'
RYU - "Does that at all hurt your relationship?"
RYU - "Asking for a friend."
CKM - "Oh, for sure. I remember once he tried to downplay my cat cafe theme, so I went over to La Casa and we argued. But Patricia came in, and so did Murasaki. It was really funny actually; I was going at Choei when Murasaki turned up. She and I were talking to Choei when Patricia came in and Murasaki threw a golden steak at her."
CKM - "Right at her face, and it stuck there."
RYU - "That's a lot to unpack, I wish I could've been a fly on the wall."
RYU - "My next question is, what are some of your biggest struggles as a business owner in Karakura?"
CKM - "With my specific store, I have to handle a lot of challenges. People steal my cats, people are allergic, phobias and stuff. It's hard to come up with solutions. In regard to business as a whole, there aren't many struggles. The other shop owners aren't hostile or competitive with each other so there's no worry about that side of things. I think I get it easier than most shopkeepers."
RYU - "Well, that is all. Thank you so much for your time today, Ms. Masuo!"
CKM - "Of course. Thank you too."
Karakura has tons of food options that can range from cheap to expensive, and this is only one of them. I hope to present more to you all in the future. Ryuijin Kotagawa, signing out!
