Backstory:
Katniss lived with her mother and sisters in the Netherlands until the age of five. Katniss her mother was offered a good job and they chose to emigrate, also because Katniss mother wanted the best education for her daughters. Katniss mother taught them English first so they could communicate with new friends. At home she still speaks Dutch with her mother and this has not been forgotten after all these years. Katniss still regularly talks to her family in the Netherlands. She would have had no contact with her father. Her father of Italian descent is in prison for many years. After years of no contact, he began to contact his daughters again. He wrote them letters and called. As a result, Katniss has started to learn the Italian language again and now speaks it fluently. Katniss would have a huge passion for swimming and would spend much of her time at the beach to relax. She would design her own clothes in her spare time. Her mother was her great example of wanting to become a nurse. She would like to follow in her mother's footsteps. Katniss helpfulness and care for others makes her the ideal person for the profession. However, at the age of 19, the worst thing that could happen to katniss happened. Her mother would travel to Italy to katniss father who would be incurably ill. During this trip, her mother died in a plane crash. After mournig for a long time and feeling lonely, she was received with love in the Lacrosse family.
