Kimiko was born in the Kyoto University Hospital to her mother Yui Tabashino. Her mother “ Yui Tabashino'' was a chef and owned a restaurant. She was a great cook and so kind and well with customers and peers but at home where she took care of two kids, Kimiko and her brother Kataga. She would be stressed and abusive verbally and physically. Kimiko’s father would be a stay at home dad. He would clean the house and feed his kids but he was also stressed and tired and would never really spend any quality time with Kimiko and Kataga. Her mother always put on a face around work, customers, peers and friends but was always tired and slightly depressed. She was overworked and didn't have time for her kids. Kimiko’s brother had to learn things himself, for example , cleaning, cooking, taking care of himself, and education. Kimiko always looked up to her brother. They had each other. All the way up until Kimiko was 14, her brother got into a college in the US. She was excited for her brother yet sad he would have to leave. Due to her brother leaving and both of her parents not being able to properly take care of her they sent her off to her aunt, Yumi Tabashino to take care of her. Her aunt was a very busy person but tried her best taking care of her. Her best wasn't enough, only leading Kimiko to take care of herself. Her first day of school was tough , she had to take the bus since her Aunt would leave the house everyday at 5 AM. She felt alone and lost. Not until she met Amara yatogami and Ivy yatogami. They greeted her with kindness and care. The only kindness and care she felt was her brothers, so she wasn't use to it at first. Kimiko enjoyed spending time with others and learned to have great social skills and make friends herself.
After time passed she made a close bond with both Amara and Ivy; they made a promise to be sisters, to always stick together no matter what. Amara hated seeing her close loved ones hurt and alone so she decided to take in Kimiko. She is now always seen with Amara and Ivy and now goes by Kimiko Yatogami.
