Backstory

Koga was born in Odessa, Ukraine into the rich household of the Ikeda's. He was spoiled throughout his life, not working for anything. His father, Tashibu, owned a banking company in Ukraine and had married a middle class Ukrainian woman. His father wanted Koga to take over the business, however, Koga never had a passion for it.
At the age of 13, he heard of a revolution that was going to take place. Koga wanted to join, however, his father didn't allow it. In fact, he looked down on Koga for even thinking that he should join. However, in two years, at the age of 15, Koga signed up anyway, the Ukrainian blood in him wanting to protect his country.

Koga joined and although he was seen as a worthy solider, he was placed in the "Laughing Stocks" as they needed a sharpshooter, which Koga was. So he joined, however, he never understood why it was called the "Laughing Stocks" as everyone in there seemed to still have a valid reason for joining. However, he kept to himself. The others saw him as the rich kid that wouldn't get his hands dirty, thus making him a reject of the rejects. He was alone for awhile, training with people who hated him, until he spoke to Fenrir. Fenrir grew to like Koga pretty quickly and soon enough, he had introduced him to everyone of his friends, Derik, Tapinski and Sullivan. They had all gotten along and relied on Koga to cover them as they pushed in.

After the revolution had ended and they all went home, Koga had started studying law. His father, who was extremely upset, had left the company to his sister now instead. Koga and the others had met up every so often, sharing a few drinks, messing around, what and so forth. When Sullivan disappeared, Koga was the one to track him down, checking records and going to his house to ask his mother. When he figured out that he had gone to Japan, Koga asked his father to go to his home country of Japan. His father was surprised, but allowed him to do so, giving him a ticket to Takashima, Japan. After finding Sullivan, he sent a call to Fenrir who had told the others of Takashima, bringing them over as well.
