Describe your activity on the server:
I started my journey in SchoolRP in 2021-2022, and it quickly became a passion of mine. Roleplaying on the server gave me something I could do long-term and consistently without getting bored, since most games I play besides SchoolRP are just like a 2-week passion and then it dies down for 2-6 months. Yes, I have had a couple of breaks here and there, some lasting longer than others. The longest one was a break of about 6 months, from around May of last year until October of the same year. Since then, I have been very active on the server, meaning I have been actively online and roleplaying for more than a year straight!

Currently, I am in my final year of High School, which may cause a bit of inactivity around my semester finals; however, the recent ones I had did not stop me at all from not being online on the server for at least 3 hours on a weekday, and I did quite well, I must say. I am turning 17 on the 20th of November too!

During weekdays, I am mostly on the server for about 4-5 hours; this can differ later since I do have semester finals, and sometimes it can get a lot. During the weekends, I am mostly online for at least 7 hours.

Through the years on the server, I have experienced a lot of different types of RP. Starting with...

Combat/GangRP: I have been in multiple gangs for a year or 2, made lots of friends and had great experiences; however, last year I decided to quit it since it just was not how it was in the past. I am not talking about the rule changes, but mostly lots of people I knew back then quit GangRP or SchoolRP fully. I will scan through the rules again, though, since it will help me a lot with KPD and is pretty much a must; I will just have to refresh it!

RomanceRP: Through all the years I have spent on this server, I have pretty much always done this. From aggressive/obsessive behavior from the S.O. to someone completely introverted and shutting themselves off from society. What I am trying to explain here is that I have seen various things and have enjoyed them a lot! Currently, I am not super active in RomanceRP since my character I am mostly on just broken up and is not actively looking for someone else at this moment.

HS-Volleyball males team / RivalryRP: Not so long ago, I joined the High School Volleyball males team (5-ish weeks ago), and since then, I have been actively playing on that character (Kai Reyes). A lot has happened in the past 5 weeks. Ranging from team lore to a noticeable rivalry with the College Volleyball females team. Until now, I have been enjoying my time in the team and expect to be in the team for a long period of time!

FamilyRP: This is the last one.. I promise! I have been in various families during my time in SchoolRP, for instance: Jett/Amorosa, Navarro, Mayumi, and 3 more that I unfortunately forgot the names of. I have learned lots of different RP styles in this category of RP, and of course, it is lots of fun to have a character with a big, active family. I am currently a higher-up in Navarro and just a family member in Mayumi. I attend family events if there are any, and pretty much bring a joyful spirit with me.

What is your motivation for applying?:
My main motivation is to experience new roleplay. For example, doors will open if I get in the faction, RPing as an adult, serving the community well, becoming responsible for the actions I take, and them having serious consequences, and mostly getting to know how KPD handles scenarios, making me see how authority works in Karakura, it gives me a new perspective, which I am very intrigued in! Becoming a part of the KPD is something I really desire to happen soon. Not only for that reason, though, a lot of people I know are in the KPD already, and I just admire the way they RP, also trying to handle the pressure of the KPD, being even closer to the community, not just being a high school/College student, but having a full-grown character. It will also give me more general knowledge of how things work inside the server. If I get in KPD, I will not only gain insight into how things run in that faction alone, but I can also see how EMS, Town Hall, and other factions run things since they are always linked to the KPD in some way. It can also make me learn something new OOC, also giving me more responsibility. Not only responsibility, but I will also gain discipline, communication, and how to operate in a team. I also think I can be of value to the faction just to balance out the difference between criminality and the police force in Karakura.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
I have never been in KPD before; however, I do know a couple of things about the faction. Unfortunately, I do not know any codes, but this is what I do know at the moment:

Item:
Purpose of the item:
Image of the item:

Patrolling: Officers patrol a specific route given to them by their higher-ups to check for any suspicious/illegal activity. They will have to respond quickly to any incidents.
Apprehending suspects: Officers are responsible for chasing, stopping, detaining, and or arresting suspects when necessary. This act can involve tools like a stun blaster, pepper spray, baton, and of course, cuffs. If there is danger, the officer should call for back-up.

Responding to calls: Officers will receive non-emergency or emergency calls from citizens. They will have to act accordingly and try to understand the situation of the caller, and eventually have to go quickly to the location provided by the caller; however, it depends on the severity of the call.

Use of force: Officers have to be careful with what tools they use in particular situations, for example, you cannot use lethal force in not so severe moments. Officers strictly have to follow this rule or there will be consequences based on their actions.

Investigations: Officers have to gather evidence and have to somehow find a way to unravel the truth. You can do this by interrogation, finding witnesses, looking through camera footage, and a lot more.

Interrogations: Detectives in the detective division question suspects to gather information, get more clarity about the situation, and go after the truth of what unfolded during the incident.

Public help: Officers are not only enforcing the law, but they also offer civilians help if needed. For example, giving directions, giving advice, assisting in emergencies, and much more.

Maintaining public order: It is an officer's responsibility to maintain public order and prevent chaos. To do this, officers will have to take control of a crowd and make sure that everyone is safe.

Preventing crime: It is an officer's duty to try to prevent crime before it even occurs. They do this by patrolling, looking out for suspicious behavior, and tackling problem spots as quickly as possible. By that, the community will be much safer.

Protecting civilians: Officers keep civilians safe by stopping threats, keeping them away from danger, and making sure no one gets harmed in the process

Front desk: Officers have front desk duty. That is where civilians ask questions, pay off someone's bail, or ask to report someone.

Inmate care: Officers have to make sure arrested individuals are well taken care of and not harmed while in custody.

Raid: Sometimes officers will have to plan some raids. This concludes that officers enter the home of a suspect to search for evidence they can use against them, mostly anything illegal or linking them to the crime committed.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
The KPD is essential to SchoolRP for many reasons. One of the main ones is maintaining a balance between crime and police in the town. If there were no KPD, the streets of Karakura would be in total anarchy. In other words, their role is to serve and protect the citizens. KPD is also important because they show the legal consequences for people's actions, making RP develop a lot more, and of course, can cause lots of lore (For instance, rivalry, IC events, backstories). Without KPD, Karakura would not be a realistic city. All cities have some kind of police on their streets, so to make the town complete, there must be police. KPD is also important to other factions; without KPD Town Hall, it would be useless, and EMS would be in shambles, like a snowball effect. It also requires officers to communicate with each other, creating more detail in RP. Without KPD, it would make the Crime/Gang RP experience less enjoyable since there is no challenge for them.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?

Yes, I acknowledge that and agree.

In-Character (IC) Section

Arai would walk into the application room with confidence and a lot of hope at the same time. He greeted the individual, shaking their hand, his hand felt firm, and so was his handshake.. He would make his way towards the seat. He sat down and took a deep breath before calming himself by remembering his dreams of becoming an officer.. And if he does not get in, it is his fate. “And now for the hard part..” He murmured under his breath.

What's your character's full name?:
He scratched the back of his neck as if he did not know what had just been asked of him. After a couple of seconds, he came back to his senses before facepalming. “My bad.. I am just a bit nervous. I am Souta. Souta Arai. You can just call me by my first name; I do not have any preferences. It is a pleasure to meet you!” He leaned back in the chair, satisfied with his answer!

How old is your character (if accepted)?:
“Ah.. Yeah, I am 26 years old. So I am in my prime! I get I might look a bit younger, but that is just because of my skincare routine-” Arai held his tongue before covering his nose and mouth with both hands.. “That was so unnecessary. Oh god.” He thought to himself. He cleared his throat before apologizing to the individual..

What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
Arai straightened his posture and cleared his throat before speaking up in a calm, neutral tone. “I am male and go by He/Him.” He said, expressing a polite smile to the individual in front of him! His gaze shifted around the room, taking in his surroundings. It was like a habit of his, familiarizing the layout before really getting to relax; it is a good and a bad trait at the same time. After a brief moment, his attention shifted towards the individual, ready for whatever they were going to ask him next.

Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application:
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):

Arai scratched his cheek before brushing a bit of dust off his shirt. “Oh- my highest academic role! Of course, yes.” He said, giving the individual in front of him a polite smile, trying to cover his nervousness.. “I graduated from taking the state exams and went on to complete my bachelor's degree, majoring in Criminology and minoring in Criminal Justice.. After that, I did the same thing for my master's degree. Unfortunately, I did not finish my PhD for those subjects, it was just too much theory and 0 action, something had to change, you know?”

What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
He shifted in the chair, making sure he was sitting up straight. "Ah, I can fluently speak Spanish and Korean. My mother is a native South Korean, and my dad was Spanish and moved to South Korea a couple of years ago. He homeschooled me there with my mother, and that is really how I got to speak both languages fluently." He itched the bridge of his nose.

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Souta Arai stands tall at 6'4/193cm; his posture was eye-catching. His South Korean and Spanish heritage give him a striking look, you can see that from his almond-shaped brown eyes, paired with a warm tan and wavy dark brown hair. He weighs a good 77 Kg/ 170 lbs. His presence felt welcoming. You could notice that he has an athletic build, one that took years of determination to accomplish. His demeanor said everything; he was very confident yet easily approachable. A scent of cedarwood would linger around him. His smile would give a sense of comfort. His eyes were deep, full of dreams, hope, and determination. He would always try to be well-dressed because his father taught him so. His voice is deep and calming, creating a soothing ambiance in the room whenever he speaks up. He was clearly very disciplined.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
Arai pondered for a while, trying to give a complete answer to their question. He took a deep breath, while maintaining eye contact with the individual.. “That is a tough question" He thought to himself. “Well, in professional situations, I make sure to stay calm and serve anyone who is breaking the laws of the town. I will remain formal to all suspects or victims and will not let my emotions get the better of me. In a casual situation, I just try to be myself! Fun to hang around with, being very talkative while listening to what other people have to say, in other words, just joke around a bit. I do this when I am off duty or during a casual interaction.”

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Arai would pause for a moment.. Thinking carefully about what he was going to say next. "I really prioritize working with co-workers, getting to know them, seeing them on a daily basis. In a stressful job like this, you really appreciate your co-workers, because we are all in the same boat. Each day, officers are risking their lives to serve and protect this town. It can bring a lot of pressure, and venting to co-workers or just them being around is a great stress decompressor." He sighed in relief. The hard questions are behind him now.. He hoped at least.

What's your character's backstory?

[Before and after Arai was born]

Souta Arai was born on the 18th of May 1999 in a hospital in the city of Busan, South Korea. His mother, Mi-young Arai, and his father, Rafael Castillo, took great care of him in the years to come.. treating him like their own priceless treasure. Unlike most people, Souta got his mother's last name instead of his father's. Back when Rafael was living in Spain, he went through some rough times. Barely scraping by and pretty much living on 12 Euros an hour. This was because he was raised in a bad part of the city of Zaragoza, Spain. He worked as a janitor in a grocery store. He felt useless.. He found it so unfair that he just did not have the money to enroll in college, even though he was a top-notch student.. Scholarships were not a thing in his city, and he could not afford to rent a studio in another city.. His dream was to become something in law and order. One day, Rafael went to his aunt.. He noticed her packing up. He asked her.. "Auntie, where are you headed? Are you going to visit your friend and sleepover again?" She chuckled before walking over to Rafael. "No, silly, I am going on a trip to South Korea! I won plane tickets to South Korea, Busan. Hotel, food, and anything you can imagine included! Unfortunately, I have not found a second person yet since your uncle is pretty busy with work nowadays." Rafael's eyes glimmered with excitement.. He finally saw a light at the end of the tunnel.. There was still room for hope! At that stage, Rafael was 21 years old.. A man desperate for a change. "Oh! I mean I would love to go, if that is okay with you, of course!" A grin formed on his face.. The aunt turned around before looking at him.. She was shocked that he would want to go with her. She nodded in approval since she really had no one else to go with! Rafael got to packing since the next day he would fly off to South Korea, and eventually he would meet Mi-young.. They got super close in a matter of weeks. After being there for 2 months, he decided he wanted to stay with her since he saw a future in Busan.. and he was correct.

[0-14]

Arai grew up quickly, but before you knew it, he was 4 years old. When he was 4, he started getting homeschooled by his father and mother. He got taught various subjects, ranging from philosophy to Spanish, Korean, and Japanese. His parents were very strict with him, but for good reasons. He kept improving and improving.. His knowledge was above average for children of his age back then. His father could not speak Korean fluently back then, so they mostly talked English to each other because that was the only language they could all speak fluently together. Whenever Arai and Rafael were alone, they would talk in Spanish together just for him to improve his language. Souta always admired his father. When Arai turned 11 years old, he was already highly intelligent. His father could finally speak Korean fluently and applied for the police force in Busan. After waiting for half a year, he finally got a letter back saying they had enrolled him in the police academy. Another half year passed. At this point, Arai was 12 years old, and Rafael finally started his job in the police station. 2 years passed by in the blink of an eye; however, Souta's life was about to hit a halt. One night, while Rafael was cruising around patrolling the city, he drove into a tunnel.. He spotted 2 masked men on the side of the tunnel near an escape door. They were acting suspiciously, so Castillo parked his car on the side of the road and stepped out of his car to investigate. He approached them with caution.. He called out to them to turn around and show their hands. Rafael heard a distant noise coming from the other side of the tunnel.. He shifted his gaze for a slight second. One of the delinquents seemed to notice and took his chance to dash away into the darkness of the tunnel.. The second male just stood there.. slowly turning around towards Castillo, He had something in his hands, but Rafael could only see the silhouette of the object since it was that dark in the tunnel.. He warned the suspect multiple times to drop whatever he was holding, but the suspect just kept creeping closer.. Just as Castillo was about to hit the trigger to his taser, he felt a sharp pain in his back.. The second suspect came from behind with a switchblade.. Sadly, Castillo did not make it that night. When Arai heard the news, his heart felt like it was going to explode.. He could not believe it.. His favorite person in the world is already gone on the 14th.

[14-26]

After his father's passing, Arai promised himself to make his father proud.. To follow in his footsteps and try to be as good as his father was before. No matter what, nothing would stop him.. On his 18th, he took some state exams to get his high school diploma, and surprisingly, Arai passed with flying colors. He decided to take a gap year to figure out what he really wanted to do in the future and how to achieve that. He figured that out quickly, so he started looking into how to become an officer. He looked for relevant majors and minors and eventually concluded.. He was going to move to Karakura to finish his college there. Karakura had everything Souta needed to become an authority figure, and nothing was stopping him from moving out. When he turned 20, he started his bachelor's in Karakura, majoring in Criminology and minoring in Criminal Justice. Again, he passed in 1 year with flying colors. It took him another 3 years to finish his master's. At this point, he was 24 years old. He did not try to finish his PhD since it was not relevant to his future dream job. The next year, Arai kept training his strength and cardio.. maximizing his chances of getting in. Exactly 1 month ago, he saw that KPD was hiring.. He was ecstatic! He immediately applied for the job, and now we are here.. in a room that is going to make or break his future.

General knowledge

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
Souta would widen his eyes, structuring his answer in his mind. “No, to my knowledge you cannot own a pocket knife in Karakura. It is an illegal weapon, you can get fined for ‘possession of illegal weaponry’, the pocket knife will be impounded, and thrown into the incinerator, and the person that carried the pocket knife will get a fine of 150K yen.”

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
Melatonin: Its usage is for people to fall asleep better and to treat people with insomnia.

Paracetamol: It’s a mild painkiller that helps people relieve aches and pain.

Aspirin: It is used to treat fever, pain, and heart conditions.

Bandage: It is used to protect wounds and cuts from infections and further damage.

Multivitamins: It is a supplement that provides extra vitamins and minerals for a health boost.

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
Arai would shift his body forward. Making it so that his right hand would support his head. .“First of all, I would intervene to protect the inmate and the station, since the chance of a successful lawsuit is pretty high. Second of all, I would report their actions to a higher-up. Lastly, I would try talking to them 1 on 1.. asking what really happened in there that made them act so recklessly."

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
Arai would take a sip of his water bottle before clearing his throat. He spoke in a confident tone. “The safety of my co-workers is the biggest priority in my eyes. I would instantly call for back-up and hit the panic button since an officer is getting assaulted. Then I would get myself involved with the situation by warning the suspect while trying to keep them away from my co-worker. If they do or do not listen, I will have to cuff them and arrest them for assault on a public figure of authority. If they resist and try running away, I will taze them, and they will only be adding evasion on their list of charges.”

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
He sighed.. Arai gave a quick answer to that question since he did not doubt in his mind. “Again, I would have to report them to a higher-up. What they will do to him is their choice, but people should not abuse this kind of authority. We serve and protect, not keeping the streets flourishing with crime and havoc.”

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
Arai would let out a sigh while widening his eyes. “Ah.. one of those. Well, firstly, I would warn them about the consequences of trying to bribe a public authority. If they do not listen to my first and final warning and keep trying to persuade me, I will fine them and report it in their file.” He contemplated... not sure if he answered that correctly, or if that was what they wanted to hear.
